Haver [Bot Model]

Recommended Posts

This is a character I sketched like 3 years ago.. I decided to model him....

the idea is a hovering Bot with guns built into his armor from underneat...

He's a guard for an experiment lab..

He's about 629 patches so far..

I will update as I progress...feedback is welcome.

Guys thank you so much for ur feedback, this is by far the most complex model I have personally done.. so it's a learning experience for me..

Chrury Sanson - Yes he's a hovering Bot [no legs].. which will be linked to a turret....

Mike Lium - Thanks alot brother, it's good to see you!!

Here are my new updates...am very pleased so far...

He's 2121 patches so far.. Am trying to keep him as low as I can...

-No it's not hair on his head....it's the attachement for his gun....

-Am re-designing a few things cuz his turret is not working out as I would like it....

-the color version is not final that was just a quick thing for the contest....

Now that I got a new comp I can push more details into him.....

Wow! That looks pretty cool. What were the settings you used to get that? Is that all AM, or anything done after in a paint program?

-agep- Thank you so much...means alot coming from you...

-gschumsky- Thank you....This is all A:M...am using toonrender... Am using basic toon settings within the render panel; no changes is made in PWS with regards to toon....

SETTINGS:

LIGHT:

Light: 1 Z-buffer kileg

softness: 50%

Darkness: 80% <----- very important ajust until you get a nice shadow cast effect...

Map Res: 512X512

Bias: off

Penumba: off

RENDER:

lines only: off

override Lines: on

color method: Specified <------- I set mine to black

thickness: 1

Toon Line Bais: 1

MATERIALS:

I used 2 types of materials to add some specularity and life to the model...

Toonnation : [Dusty] - for highlights and [Cellular] - for the added noise FX....

................

I have also tested this a bit with other types of lights but I find the best results is using Z-buffer lights which I use exclusively..

Here is an update adding more details and trying to get a feel for the toon effect....

Hi Guys,

Been in process of moving and trying to settle into my new place, I had some time to continue working on my comic book character....I made some adjustments to his mask/air supply I was not to happy with the way it look I hope this looks better and a bit more convincing...Am trying to find a balance between design and simplicity; his Torso is in the making...
