  7. I'm inspired by both. The "variation on the same theme" is a good thing though. Two environments in a one-shot camera style would add a bit of narrative confusion and technical difficulties in my opinion.
  8. I agree. I think constraints and guidelines are good, but at some point it might get a bit in the way. I personally prefer the simple idea of a room and camera movement (constrained on the beginning and end for continuity). The "rear window" variant is great, but I assume it would add a lead-in / lead-out requirement for each scene right?

  13. I wouldn't go SLI/Crossfire. Not only you add an entire level of troubleshooting in the mix, but also the gain from it usually isn't worth the cost, except if you running games at 1920X1080 and higher. One good graphic card will do fine, and you won't need expensive motherboard and power supply. I'm very pleased with my Q6600. AM won't take advantage of the multicore when working in the program, but you can launch multiple instance and render multiple frames (up to three, you won't see any performance hit). Intel just released a new line of CPU, the Q9XXX, which would be a better choice if you'd buy it today. A faster dual core E8400 wolfdale would also be a very good choice, depending on how you use AM and if you have any program that can take advantage of a Quad. For the motherboard, I can recommand the GA-P35-DS3L from Gigabyte as a solid inexpensive choice.

  17. Glad to read your project is back on track. I'm sure this time you have setup a backup strategy so crash won't affect you anymore. 40min to 1h 30min? This is a quite large approximation!
  18. Animation Pitstop is long time dead I think. I suggest you use http://www.3dfrogstore.com/ You can sell the model or make it available for free.
  19. This is really a beautiful model, well splined. On the contest render... -Tire and footboard grey texture is a bit flat. -Floor doesn't match imo, look flat and out of focus. -Mud splash are a real nice touch! But they seem to splash parts and not others. Great great work!
  20. From what I experienced... -Start over with a brand new light. For what you want, use a Bulb type of light -Start small, with all "Fade when..." at OFF. -Make sure your choreography light settings doesn't overide the master light settings, since you seem to work on those (if you want to make sure, delete the one you have in the CHO and drag a new one from the "master light". -Test and adjust your lens flare from a CAMERA point of view. Also, render most of the camera frame, and not just a zone with Q and right-click, because the result will be quite different. This is what I meant be not exactly easy to control.
  21. Lens flare. This is what you looking for. They are not exactly easy to control, but they achieve exactly that kind of stuff.
  22. You can turn the Ambiance of the square up to 100%. You can put a light on it and use Light List so that particular light will only affect that square model. Thats 2 methods that come to my mind, maybe there is other.
