  1. Ah ok, I have been racking my brain for weeks as to how to go about modeling hands. one of the toughest things for me..
  2. Yeah had the same problem when I was working on the illustrations for my kids book, real annoying. Dunno if it's a video card issue or bug. nice model, did you model the hands?
  3. Nice fly I like him, is that toonrender?
  4. Very nice work, I love the elephants they are creatively designed and funny. One thing I did not like was the use of real images as backgrounds, they did not flow well with the overall design and style. I am not an animation guy so I can't critique it But overall you guys did a great job!
  5. Was 'Piper Penguin and his Fantastic Flying Machines" done entirely in A:M?
  6. Thats pretty sweet, I would like to see how this displacement texturing works..
  7. I like it I have tried this in the past with no decent success. May I see a wire-frame.
  8. First I want to thank everyone who helped me with my book; it's completed and turned just as I wanted it.. This is only a tease of a few pages, the full book will be available in April on amazon... please feel free to leave a comment on the site where the book is posted... http://issuu.com/darklimitarts/docs/bookpreview
  9. Much Thanks Nancy That site helped alot....... I have updated Howie to look a bit older than a toddler this way he can fit in a bit more and be more relatable to kids...... I have also posted the cover to my book; there will be a web version and the book will also be available for purchase.. Am currently moving along with the illustrations and story, my goal is to publish April 1st or latest end of April..... I will be posting a couple pages next so you have an idea how the story flows...
  10. robcat2075 - yeah I was not to found of the teeth also so I tweaked it, looks more friendly now I think... higginsdj - my plan was to keep the sun more 2D so there is contrast between both characters, but prob that did not work so I took ur advice and made it 3D...
  11. Much thanks for ur feedback Nancy, the kids I have shown him to don't have a problem figuring out who or what he is but overall I don't want them to ever question that so I will re-do his ears / put some pants on him....... Howie is 5 yrs old..... am interested to know how colors will suit different age groups.......
  12. yes that's very nice what is your target age group j Thanks J My target is 8 and under..........
  13. Hi guys, I started working on my kids book that I have been planning about Aug of 09.. This is Howie he's the main character and the sun is his guide or guardian; This is what I have so far am mainly trying to get a comfortable appearance/overall feel that will be standard for the entire series... I would really like ur feedback on if the characters are appealing and if not how to improve them so kids would enjoy and relate to them more.....
  14. Congrats! Ken.. Am also working on my very first children book so it's inspiring to see ur stuff... Keep it up!
  15. Thanks a lot Jeff, I was referring to the last solo pic of him...... cheers
  16. -Great work Zaryin I really dig his design... His chest plate what is the mat setting on it? I want this appearance for a mechanical model am working on..... thks
  17. -Nice work so far, I like the windmill. -The sky compared to the rest of the scene looks a bit off, it looks flat.. -The barn is good but I would suggest changing the angle of some of the wood, have some that are broken or completely removed, adding randomness to the walls... -Add holes in the roof and have rays of light shine through.
  18. Hi guys, - I have re-worked most of the mesh I was not to pleased with the direction of the previous design, The mesh is not as clean as I would like it but it's coming along....I still need to build the inside of his mouth, teeth etc... feedback is welcome..
  19. -Lovely Character I like his simplicity!
