Fortunately I don't do this very often but decided to try lip sync and animating use the great model donated by Andy Gibbons about two hours of just having fun [attachmentid=10710] I know its small but the sound makes the file too large back to my normal tinkering singing.mov

I've had this idea for a while, but never came around trying it out. With some texturing I think it could be rather convincing. What do you think? [attachmentid=10616] M01b.mov

Hey Peoples, Here's a new demo reel. (Terrible terrible compression, but this isn't the final version, just something to get feedback on.) Everything done in A:M http://www.alonso-soriano.com/anim/SorianoDemo.mpg 5.4Mb Mpg (so you can view it in whatever you want) What do you think? I'm looking for brutal critiques. What needs to go, where can improvements be made? I know the audio is off (only audio in 1 piece) by a frame or two but I'm pretty sure that happened when I was stitching it all together. Suggestions on order? Some things are from my last demo, do they still belong? Be achingly blunt, please! Thanks. -Alonso

Banded Mushroom

Has anyone got an idea on why my mushroom is banded like this? I have an animated decal (QT movie) as a displacement map but it hasn't got THAT much compression in it. And look at the underside of the "crown;" it's like a surface break... The surface it pretty hi-res; a 40X40 patch grid rolled into a tube. I'm working of this tutorial and Weevil doesn't run into any of this... hash.com/users/weevil/ EDIT : Part of it turned out to be a poorly-compressed transparency decal. But there's still more going on in this image. ANy ideas? Rhett

here's my latest model of my room. i still have to add a lot a decals to the posters and add some more paintings but at the moment i think it looks pretty good P.S. i know making the edges curved would make it look a lot more real, but that adds twice as many control points to the project and then everything gets really slow. Comments Appreciated

I've been playing about with A:M for a couple of weeks and got a little too carried away. Once I'd got my head around reusable actions and lip synching, I put together a music video featuring my brother-in-law. If I can finish it in time, it may well be presented to him on a DVD for Christmas! Any tips, pointers, critiques welcomed (don't be too harsh, I'm still battling with the newcomers tutorials....) You should spot that the body is ripped from the Robber and I've had to decal all my facials on, as I'm rubbish at modelling!! I'm starting to model Bal Loons throne based on this image: Throne I'd like to try and keep the patch count low so I'm trying render as lines. Should I go this route? As far as I can see render as lines doesn't seem to cast shadows. Also, there's that problem of the thickness changing depending on how far your viewing from. Any recommendations?

I just finished working with a local video production house on this project. I know a guy there, he ask if I could do it, I said yes .... then I went and learned how to do it, though I didn't tell "him" that. I had been playing with AM for a couple of months I had 7 days to do the project. More than once during this project I thought I had royally screwed up taking the job, but I learned a ton about AM and in the end I'm glad I did it. I have been a Graphic Designer for years and own my own business in that field I had dabbled in 3D with Bryce but never anything serious ..... but now I'm hooked I did the animated logos and all the 3D on the proje…

The description pretty much says what I used. It's far from finished, as the blue truck needs to be heavily damaged and I need to interview the driver (blue truck) to sind out which way his vehicle spun. Image as a roto for camera. Yves' light rig, Explode and Newton plugin from yoda64. Had smoke in it but it didn't work out (NR problems). Hey guys, remember that incredibles rip off I made over the summer? Well even if not, I had a model produced and painted over the summer but for some reason or another I never got around to posting. This started out as a rig test for David Simmons Squetchy Thom rig. It pretty much uses all the S&S features of the rig. A fun rig to work with if you haven't checked it out yet! Anyways I just added the eyes and animation over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully the link will work, OK. I don't have my webspace right now. You have to click on the "320" under the animation for proper size. Eggs.mov Thanks David

One of the new users wondered if I try to do a walk cycle on this guy so I thought I would give her a go. This is very rough and in shaded mode. I am concentrating on the legs and feet right now. I haven't done any weight or secondary motion except on the feet. lots of work to do on it as time permits. I was watching the scene in jurassic park where the trex is chasing the guy with the flare. I haven't watch that movie for a long time and still is state of the art. I am looking forward to some feedback. Ken Helsip is kind enough to let anyone who wants the trex, to download it as soon as he checks the file out. It rigged with tsm2 and …

This is Captain Barnstorm. A new character I created...because I wanted to! He doesn't have a story right now, but I have a few ideas percolating. I'm not entirely done rigging and making poses, but I'm pretty far along. No textures at this point. The next picture is a few characters from a story idea my wife came up with. If I get it finished it will be in storybook form (hopefully!). I'm very happy with the cow, but the horse is giving me trouble, and I just can't make the duck's wings look right. Bird wings that work right, to me, are nearly unattainable in 3d. I just can't get my brain wrapped around them. Any suggestions from bird modelers would be appreciated. …

Hello all. This may be the first time I've posted a still image in "Showcase." Takes a lot less time to render than an animation... I was in a community theater of production of "Dracula" (closes tonight, in fact) and as a gift for the cast and crew, I was going to make a parody animation. Well, I only got the idea a week before closing and that's a quick turnaround time even for me, so I elected to make them a movie poster instead, with the promise of a movie to come. Anyway, the poster turned out pretty well, I think, so here it is.

Hi everyone. I saw the running trex animation. very cool. I was fooling around with this trex model i had downloaded awhile back. I took the original rig out and put in the tsm2 rig. I used the weightmover on the neck to the tail and put in the cog system on the thighs. I only got to put in about 5 hours on the animation but the tsm2 rig works awesome. the animation is still very rough and has no secondary action yet, but it has some potential. this is my first animation that I have posted on the forum. This file is divx and may not work with all browsers. let me know if there is problems. this was 10 seconds and I only have 10 meg…

I finaly decided that it was time to tackle all those scary things like constraints and channels and get down to some animating. So I'm sort of going through the animation bootcamp setup. So here's a first animation with a ball. Pretty basic. Please critique as harshly as you want, especially with timing and weight and just whether the ideas, as simple as they may be, are comunicated or not. Thanks! http://media.putfile.com/helium35

www.johnaretakis.com HEY- I recently finished a Flash website for a good friend and talented artist, John Aretakis. I am looking to show off my 'Flash-work' and get some feedback from my esteemed fellow Hasher's...who's opinions I respect. John is a mural painter, an art-deco neon electric sign maker, a graphic artist/illustrator, a 2D cel-animator and a 3D hash animator. He's looking to drum-up some work with this site... NEXT---it's high time I redo my own website... it just takes so dang long! I REALLY like the latest version of Flash though, there are some BIGTIME improvements. Anyway, the site is 95% done, so there are some 'dead-ends' here and th…

Way back in July, barely 2 months after getting animation master, I decided I would make the opening video for Animethon 12 in full 3D. By that time I had played around with the program enough to get a good start on one of my characters, Phin-Phin, whom you saw with her car in a previous thread here. And by that time I had created a Fuchicoma from the Ghost in the Shell manga and PSX game. Quite literally I was cutting my teeth on the program and using this excuse to create something really cool to help me learn how to animate with AM. I managed to create 2 pieces specifically for Animethon 12 that was to be shown August 5th, with one week to spare. T…

This is my rendition of the New NASA moon rocket. The idea came from the NASA website under the heading "How we'll return to the moon." It's very informative with a great animation. Some of you may wish to check it out. As far as my model uis concerned it's patch intensive (Slightly more than 7500) and my computer is slowing down. I'll have to find a way around that beause it's hardly finished. Ed

Since people are getting more and more interested in 3D cars...a little show-and-tell. I work in Detroit for 'DivisionX', which is a 3D/graphics department of Grace & Wild, a major post-production house. DivisionX is a small group of Maya artists who have come up with a 'formula-approach' for recreating photorealistic cars and have successfully captured a peice of that blooming market. I am not a 'sheetmetal guy', so I handle the day to day graphics and do character animation for the group and facility... so I am 'loosely' a part of the group. This summer, while toying around with Maya, I tried to export a vehicle to A:M to see how A:M would handle the task,…
