Here's mine... Render and zipped file. Rename your original 'Default Chor.cho' file to something like 'Default Chor Old.cho'. Then place the Default Chor.cho from my zip file in your Hash Inc\V13.0 folder. I can create this for V12, but I am making this for the new Extra CD and V13 should be a done deal by then. EDIT: 8:30pm 02/16/2006, I updated the zip file... per Ken's suggestions, you can now drop a 7' character in the chor and it will be perfect. defaultchor_timelord.zip

as I read through the newton physics and rebuild notes I had a thought. An hour and a couple of old models later I got this. Basically I took simple models and used the rebuild plugin to create panelled versions. I thought it was cool and potentially useful for high tech backgrounds, although it does waste a lot of patches. [attachmentid=14460]

was playing around with new displacement and ambiance occlusion last night and rendered this little animation. For some reason looked a lot better when i was doing quick render test and the animation is a bit rough but I'm not going to mess around with it anymore. The sound is scrat from ice age.

Hey, Here is a 3 segment shot I just rendered out. (about 5Mb) http://www.dustinproductions.com/files/Dustin-3-views.m1v It shows the same virtual scene from 3 different angles (actually this is the first time I have been able to get more than one camera in a live action environment to work). Of course after is been rendered I see all kinds of flaws, but knowing the keen eye here on the forum, I thought ya'll could tear it apart for me and point out the things to fix. Things I know are wrong. 1. Truck is too large 2. Car is too small. 3. Too much lean on the car going through the corner. 4. Seems to be on small deviation in the path (horizontal)…

Hi guys, I know I posted in OT, but I meant to post here so here it goes: Basically, I'm going to use this thread and the site to talk about stuff involving Crayon. Here, and on the site, I'll be giving updates and all that on how things are going. Anyhow, there's not much on the site yet but, I'll be updating it, with pictures and video and stuff. The URL is: http://crayon.avituchman.com/ Sometime tomorrow I'll add some storyboard pictures.

I've got the front part of the bike almost finished, so I thought I'd post some pics: [attachmentid=14390] I'm trying to use the image on the cover of the DVD case as my main reference. I wish I knew how to take screencaps off of the dvd to use for other views. I have some views of the McFarlane model, but it isn't exactly accurate, and its scale is too small compared to the Kaneda figure, so I'm trying not to rely on those too much. This is going on my modeling reel, so feel free to crit the crap out of it.

I started on a new model my fourth one. I am having some problems. Scaling: When I try to scale by highlighting a section of the model and press the shift key or select the advance minpulator for scaling the model will not scale. I am running AM 12q (windows). Also I am having a problem with the corner of the eyes. I wnated the eyes deep set but no matter what I do there is a shadow around the inside corners. Once again I see that I am spline heavy. Any thoughts. Steve

Here's a sampling of my 'movie set' for a first animation, [if this looks to be CP heavy, well, I've been a polygon modeler for over 10 years] and my first two characters. All they will have to do is walk down a long, straight alley, down a set of steps, across a courtyard and emerge on the street near where the tank is parked. Then cross the street. Simple. [Yeah. Right!] Will they talk? In the process of learning to install bones, I'm sure I'll do the "Can You Say That?" tutorial, and by the time they can walk...well, maybe. I expect the boning procedure will not be a short one. I approach 'bones' with great trepidation. Tried them in Carrara. Never did get i…

I recently had a system and software crash that made the prj file not accessible. Sent the file to the guys at HASH. I then went on to another project. I received an email late yesterday afternoon with the corruption removed and the prj file restored. I did loose two models inside the project but received 90 of the file back. This has caused me to back up files off the system and back up individual models on so on and so on. So thanks to the guys at HASH for the help Steve

I don't know how many renders I've made of this scene and I just noticed that the grass on the right doesn't fill the frame. Oh well, one more thing to work on. Other things: I think larger sprites would make the mist look better. The blue rock she's honding should be glowing and shiney. Guess I forgot to turn Glow on. The land in the back needs something to establish how far away it is. Like a fence or signs or something. I need to find a solution to her hair. Now a hair material's length is driven by a BW targa but, as seen on her forehead, doesn't disappear where I expected it to. Maybe I'll put the hair material on a separate mesh underneath…

Ok, I'm serious about getting this thing done. Rodney, I'm taking your suggestion, and I'm going to concentrate on just getting the first installment done. Then I'll worry about trying to generate interest, and how the heck I'm going to distribute this thing. (I've got some ideas along those lines though). Here's the basics of the story as it stands so far: Our two main characters for this installment are travelling from Edo (Tokyo) to Satsuma. The journey is going to have 3 -4 legs, and each one could be traversed using a different form of transportion, giving us a good opportunity to show off the steampunk side of the storyline. Our two main characters…

This is a problem that arises from time to time as you all know. The spinning prop. Here’s how I handled it. I created a three frame action. I rotated the bone prop this way. Frame 0: 0 degrees. Frame 1: -120 degrees. Frame 2: -240 degrees. ( the plus or minus determines the direction of rotation, I wanted it clockwise from the pilot’s point of view) I added 10 percent blur. (Default is 20) But I was still getting a solid prop. To overcome this I made the blades 85 percent transparent. But in the action I only rendered frames 0 and 1. I did this because the blur won’t show up on frame 3. I’ve enclosed a single frame image as well as the actio…

I am experiencing unexpected results from my fire emitter. It appears as if their is a force in the "Z" direction, when in fact their is none defined in the chor. Below are views of what is happening. As you can see, the flames don't just float up, the also float towards the +z direction as well. I include my project file. Can anybody explain to me what is going on and how to fix it? I can't figure it out. I am using v12.0s for Windows with this one. In the project, Chor1 has a force in it, a cyclinder shape, but it shouldn't be affecting anything on the troll. Chor2 is a copy of chor1, without the force in it. Problems occur in both chors. I've started once again on a generic anime figure, as part of my Steampunk Samurai Saga. I've only got the head so far:[attachmentid=13993] I think he needs another spline ring around the eyes, and around the mouth. (Actually, the spline from the corner of the nostril should go around the mouth, I think). Also, the ear is still rough. I need to add more detail to it. Other than that, how is it looking so far?

Last night I did a final render of my project and when I played the movie I noticed that one of my characters limbs (left arm) was moved about 5 cm to the right from where it was supposed to be in every frame. Before I composed the final render I rendered it out in shaded mode to make sure everything looked okay, and all was as they should be. I ended up having to move the arm back to it's correct position in every keyframe and also the fingers went all wonky. Thusly I had to re-position all 5 fingers in about 25 keyframes (125 fixes...took a while). I saved the project, then did a render in shaded mode. All was correct. Then I rendered in "final" mode with "shadow…

Featured here is my progress for the creation of my intro movie. So far, I've got the Space Captain character 90% done. Also shown is a preliminary flight test for the flying saucer / fighter my alien will be flying. It's not very refined, the jump aspect I think needs the most work. The knee targets will *pop* when extended fully and I think that's my problem. Here it is, enjoy. I'm working on rain, and came up with what seemed a clever solution. the rain is streaks, and the splashes on the chair are a flock of rain drops. After much frustration I finally got it working...until I closed and reopened the file. Now only one drop in the flock shows up. I know flocking has been a source of frustration to others, but anyone have advice. Is this just not a playable feature right now? Also anyone ever get Flock Surface constraint to work? Well, after loosing the last model, I took a few days away from the computer and started with a new idea. I just started with the head and will try to get the ear and hair tomorrow. I worked hard on getting the eyes in and with Colin Freeman's advise I actually got the thing in on the second try. This is the first model I have been able to shut the eyes properly. I have a lot of clean up. One thing I noticed and maybe why I get spline heavy is a spline one at a time. Some of the other models updated lately look wonderful with so few spline. How do they do that? Will up date as I go Steve

I was digging around the old hard drive and found an old DXF model of "AL". I had played with him before back in the version 8 days, but it was just too much work to remove all the extra splines that resulted from polygon models. Low and behold someone posted a link to "AccuTrans-3D" and I decided to save a quads copy of "AL" and import him and see how much work there was to do. Sure enough it made it bearable. So I've done some significant cleanup. Split his mouthline and given him an inside to his mouth, cleaned up the face, touched up the ears (A LOT) and completely merged his jacket with his biceps and forearms and his pelvis with his thighs and calves.…

Hi guys, Iv been away recently, busy with university work. I began working with a couple of third year students, helping with their final year films. Its a two minute short set in medievil times - The plague is rife, Death is visiting everyone in the village and the King is next on his list! Unfortunatly, Its not being produced in AM. But - I managed to model the body collector in my favourite proggy though. I exported it as .x thanks to the great obsidion games plugin. Because it was to end up as polys, …
