Working in V17g with OSX 10.68 Got back to trying to finsh Ska Lake, spent the last two days correcting for the new model,it seemed to work ok and intended to go back today to start adjusting te detail poses and timing. Using the 2008 rig. `For some reason (?) the keys don't appear to set in the PWS when the bones are moved. It was working as normal yesterday but curious things today. Ok starting Monday June 30th 2014 12:01am Hash servers will be coming down for a planned outage of about 12-18 hours something will stay down longer. Like stills(it's going to take a bit longer then thought to get 100% working but only groups are broke now) The return order is Activation > Store > Forums(because it's a lot of work) stills then i go to sleep.

When I load a project that then looks for files, such as jpgs etc that aren't in the location the project expects, AM opens up a file window to locate it BUT the file window will not allow me to drill to a lower level - only to a higher level. AND, having navigated to a higher level will not let me navigate to the original lower level. iMac - OSX 10.9.1. Most likely a Mac issue - can someone confirm before I lodge a AM Report. Cheers

Why when you click on the button "Force KeyFrame" in AM v.17 animated object takes the initial values??? I can not turn off constraints of animated object (in AM v.17) without moving the object to the initial state. In attach example v16: At frame 40 - constraint is ON (Translate To & Orient Like) At frame 80 - constraint is OFF (Translate To & Orient Like) How it works in v17? There may already be such a rendering option, but it would be really cool to have an equiangular or fish-eye, or dual-fish-eye "360 degree" rendering option. Has there been any interest in adding this in A:M? I'm working on binaural 3D audio rendering of whale songs. What is binaural 3D? If you listen to a normal stereo recording with headphones, it will sound like the sound is inside your head. Animating a 100metre sprint in V17g Made the mistake of not moving the model bone with each step ( decided not to make the same mistake with the runner in the next lane ). However, as I procede, the model bone seems to keep growing in the Y axis, or rather the rotate handle on it does. Is this normal ? A consequence appears to be that, when trying to select a rig bone, it has become easier to select the model bone by mistake and more difficult to select the rig bone without having to use the PWS. Been a while since I used AM but don't remember the undo not working if i rotate, scale or do any transform on an object in the chor. Anyone else having this issue? I have a simple installation guide on a product install that I want to use the toon render in AM rather than fight FormZ's retarded renderer that will not turn off the F@#$!!!! GD!!! iso lines.... prj has a couple obj's rigged with nulls, other main part was modeled ages ago in AM. sgx.zip

Hi all! A very long time since I posted here :-) I am currently re-rendering my Bella Bear project at 1024 x 576 (16:9) HD ratio since it looks so dated in the format it is. I haven't done anymore work on the project but I just wanted to re-render it an familiarise myself with it again (all those hours I put into it). Anyway I have hit a stumbling block on one of the sections when it comes to rendering, I am getting perculiar shadows which I can get rid of using multi-pass but this ups the render times by a factor of four... I am using AM 14c, I know there is a newer version out there but I am loathe to re-render everything in that version since it might break…

When we are at Comic Con 2014 I'm going to set up a webcam or maybe 2 to send images to our site. I'm hoping that we have enough bandwidth for it. The more bandwidth we have faster the refresh will be. Have a bit more work to do The page maybe as simple as a timed refresh but I'm hoping to have time to set up a 'on file touch' refresh where the page just refreshes when a new image is sent. Right now it's set up to send 1280x720 images but if we have bandwidth issues(which happen a ton at shows this big) I will try dropping the image size so you can still get images. Anyone that will be there we can not wait to see you!

I was wondering if the gurus at Hash have ever thought of doing a series of tutorials on digital tutors. I know the recently blender was added could animation master also be in added in the future? I think that would be a huge boon for the program if that happened but who knows.

I have an nVidia gtx 970 and Windows 10 using A:M 18.0p. My only options fir real time driver are OpenGL and OpenGL3. Is that right or is there a driver for nVidia? Thanks, Tyson

Working in V17G under OSX 10.65 A problem not previously encountered. Going through a chor in the PWS and trying to set the keys using the pose sliders in the properties box. Working fine until, a short while ago, the mouse disappeared after every click. Went to the desktop and it was there and available, just not in AM ? Reverted to using the pose sliders window rather than properties and it seems OK. Soes anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing the problem ? regards simon

Setting up the opening and closing scene for the Dance sequence, its taking part in the young mans bedroom at home. Have made the model of the house and now trying to set up the lights in the chor. The first problem is that the lights are penetrating the mesh and showing up where they shouldn't. Is there a way to avoid this ? This is the scene, looking down the stairs to the hallway. The light source, a Klieg light , is outside, to the right of the model, in the street ( its supposed to be a passing car ). How difficult would it be to make an AM app for Android and Mac iOS? I was thinking it could just the core program with a simplified rendering or realtime renderer using HAMR as opposed to rendering to files as full movies due to limited space on mobile devices. But have the file importable to the full AM product.

Hello! So, I was just over on Twitch.TV, browsing their channels, and decided to see if A:M had any representation there. Surprisingly, there wasn't, and so I thought I'd come here and make a post about it. Hiya, So, I actually could/should have asked this during the get together, but I didn't think to. I've noticed that for some functions to work, you have to "click-select" a node. You can't box select it. Lathe is an example. Why is that? Is it something to do with how splines work? Or is it just something that was programmed that way, and remained so through all the versions? It's not a problem. It's just as easy either way, I was just curious if there was a reason behind it. Thanks!

Trying to set up a shadows only render in V18 using Z buffered shadows on a single spotlight. Shadow maps set to 4096. It doesn't appear to work. If I keep all the other settings the same, but change the spotlight shadows to ray traced instead. The shadows render as required. Is this a common problem and is there anyway to fix it ? Simon

I've done this before and know that there is a specific place we have to look to set this but I forget. Perhaps someone can get me back on track. I have a faint recollection that this is best set immediately upon creation of the pose slider as well. The most basic example is the On/Off pose where the pose is set to On by default (which without setting is 'Not Set' by default) In the case of a percentage pose the example might be to set the default as 0 on a scale of -100 to 100. Ok , I'm not sure what it is I am doing wrong or going on! ...but in V 17b and now 17c (64bit Win7) .....when I click on simulate simcloth I crash AM.....it sims fine in 17a 64 bit Win7.....also project works in 17c 32bit.... OK, trying my hand at TaoAM since it has been some time since I last played with AM and in exercise 5, using rabbit, I am trying to mirror keyframes BUT it appears the paste Mirror does not work on Nulls (hip and feet for example). Over in the 'Buying a Cafe' topic Steve was kind enough to share his settings for Sub Surface Scattering. I know there are several topics on settings but this is something I've longed to understand versus just occasionally reference. Hello, I am in the process of testing bone stresses with AM. I do fairly empirical tests and it lacks efficiency in some cases because I do not really understand what the constraints correspond to in terms of parent / child links. It's always a good idea to save your files... that and close all the hundreds of other programs you've forgotten to close... you know... to free up memory. I think this guy was anticipating what was about to happen to him so I took a screen shot of the only thing left of him when things went south. So, don't forget to save your work! P.S. I seem to recall a simplemethod for doing this... Perhaps someone can set me on the right path. I have a material that is saved as two different materials. The main difference between the two is that one is set with displacement and the other is for color. Both materials can then be applied to a group to better control the texture. That's not part of the problem... just a little background/setup. I dropped the color material onto a different group in the model and tweaked the settings. Must there be only one? The participation for this contest is the highest that I can recall in a very long time here. Not only that but I think that most of the entries in this year's mascot contest are really very good. I counted ten entries that I think could easily be justified as the splash screen for A:M v18. So why use just one this year? Why not change it where the new A:M uses a random (or cycled) splash screen at each start-up? I'd like to see this because I enjoyed so many of the entries. One has to give thanks to the small development team of Hash for continually working on bugs and fixing them. The version 17 cycyle has already gotten up to a letter g . that kind of TLC to a mature product is encouraging and comforting. Thanks.

LC Baby F.mdl TLC S3 Baby 003C.act Trying to finish The Learning Curve but, having a lot of problems. Slowly sorting out most of them but, this one is proving difficult to trace. Because it started with an old model, a the finger poses were done using skeletal mode. I know now, thats not the way to go but, not then. The scene was animated as as an action and i seemed to go ok until I checked the right hand. The fourth finger ( the pinkie ) was completely skew wif with the three bones at complete variance to each other. I have a memory (quite possibly faulty ) of seeing an option for setting the colour of toon lines as a % of the underlying colour, but can't seem to find it. I can find the option to colour the lines and so can set it to the diffuse values but not the %. Can anyone kindly point me in the right direction, or the memory error ? I wondered if, using a % the colour of the line would vary as the area moved in and out of shadow. So I tried to make some new business cards. I liked someone the stuff in the post so they are a lot like it. v18_buss_card.psd v18_buss_card_bk.psd they are still editable and I will take any suggestions tomorrow when i have a bit of time i will work on the flyer. I purchased the V12.0n disk back in '06 and used it frequently. when trying to install the program on my laptop the program does not launch from the disk. troubleshooting says its not compatible. I have run the setup and installer run multiple compatibility modes and run as admin per the recommendations of the troubleshooter but no luck. any steps forward or am i locked out here?
