Paul Forwood Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 I gave him some simple ears and brought the arms down level with his mouth. Wrestling with the shoulders at the moment. Quote
Paul Forwood Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 While I'm at it I'll get these guys started too: Quote

And as I have commented before on some other great works --is very inspiring for beginners to see what one can do with tons of talent and skill and hard work. Rich Quote
Paul Forwood Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 Actually went through this whole thread You deserve an award, sir! Thank you for your very kind words, Rich. If any of this inspires, educates or entertains then I'm happy. Thanks, Gene. Your sort of zany characters, eh? Quote

jakerupert Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 >I'm hoping to use these guys in the Unity game engine. Great charas and movements! Quote
Paul Forwood Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 It's all experimental at the moment, Jos. If I can get one short level up and running I will think about taking it further. As far as publishing goes I will take a closer look if/when this becomes relevant. A viral game for mobile devices would be a good way to go. Sell em cheap and stack em high. Quote
Paul Forwood Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 I've lost interest in my game project at the moment so have just been doodling new characters. Quote
Wildsided Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Damn kids, no respect always walkin' on my lawn I mean why do I bother to plant my bagonias Sorry mr Moses sir, didn't mean to crush your flowers sir. Paul Forwood Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 Ha ha! Very good! I do like a bit of spontanious creative banter. Just getting his old bones oiled and moving. Working on the weighting at the moment. There is no real narrative in there, except what your imagination conjures up. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 18, 2011 Hash Fellow Posted October 18, 2011 was the beard on a dynamic constraint or a cloth construction? Quote
Paul Forwood Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 was the beard on a dynamic constraint or a cloth construction? Just a dynamic constraint on a chain of bones. Quote
Paul Forwood Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 Santa_A00m.mov "Now where did I leave those reindeer?" Just a model that I was working on today. Quote

*A:M User* Shelton Posted December 20, 2011 *A:M User* Posted December 20, 2011 Nice Paul. Just saw this. I love a skinny Santa Steve Quote
jakerupert Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Hi Paul, Love your versions of Felix and Mr. Natural!!! Hope I will see some unitystuff from you someday.... Quote
largento Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I think that Santa may be up to no good. Seems kinda' paranoid to me. :-) Great job. I really regret having not tried to do a Christmas animation this year, but I've been distracted by other stuff. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 21, 2011 Hash Fellow Posted December 21, 2011 Santa_A00m.mov "Now where did I leave those reindeer?" Just a model that I was working on today. I like that! What would it take to get the beard to not pass thru the knees, I wonder? Quote
Paul Forwood Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 Thanks for the comments, guys! I've been fighting off a cold and chest infection over the Christmas break and it has made modelling, animating and answering posts a bit difficult. I have been watching though. Improving a little every day so hope to get back to achieving something very soon. Quote
*A:M User* Shelton Posted January 2, 2012 *A:M User* Posted January 2, 2012 Get to feeling better Paul! Steve Quote
Paul Forwood Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Thanks, Steve. The past two months have been a challenge and I have not done as much as I would have liked but here is a character that I started a few days ago: Modelling__A02__01f.mov Lots to do yet. Sorry about the file size for such a rough WIP. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 8, 2012 Admin Posted February 8, 2012 Very nice Paul! I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen Charlie Chaplin (or Buster Keaton) show up here in animated form before this. It doesn't surprise me to see that you're the one to do it! Here's hoping the challenges of the past couple months are well behind you. Quote
largento Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Hear-hear, Rodney! That Chaplin is awesome-squared, Paul! Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 8, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted February 8, 2012 Good-lookin' Chaplin! Quote
NancyGormezano Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 cute character, great progress for just a few days Quote
Paul Forwood Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I had started a model of Charlie Chaplin's head years ago but it got shelved and now sits somewhere on the hard drive of an old, retired, pc. It was seeing the Buster Keaton sequences in "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore" that made me want to attempt to model and animate Charlie Chaplin. He will be a great character study and I'm sure that I will learn a lot in the process. Quote
John Bigboote Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Yes, pin it. I get shivers reading it... Feb 11, last post... sounds like the big 'P' got him? That Chaplin... man, you are great Paul. This entire thread is golden, it needs to be visited. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted October 6, 2012 Admin Posted October 6, 2012 I was thinking of Paul today and so I read back through 'Paul's Playground'. What a stellar talent and inspiration. Quote
ludo_si Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I love your work. your character are very expressive. Quote
