Really enjoying your Step-by-Step Xtas!

If anything like your past efforts this is going to be great. :)

I can already see how your character would make a great biker.

X, I love the head! The helmet covering the eyes and the big ol nose, it's perfect. I can't think of what it reminds me of, but I really like it. Keep it up.

A little Beetle Bailey perhaps?

I too really like the style so far!

Looks like it could be a great character to animate with!

thx for your comments ...

I have this only model, now that I already know the character's general form, the next step will be to break it in parts: skin, t-shirt, jeans

Ahhh, cool looking dude :P Love the proportions of him. And the head! Few splines, yet so much personality. This is one of those models I get thinking "Darn, why didn't I think of that!"

As great as the shirt is (All your base...funny), I would recommend either Vern's or Patrick's t-shirt designs.

Just a thought.

Well,

the Biker´s rig v1.0 is done ...

i used TSM2 and smartskin to setup him... if there is time, I will make a new rig using Mike Fitzgerald´s joint setup..

for while i did a small pose to test it

Now this is why it is called the Work In Progress Forum!

Great to see a model and project come together step by step like this.

Awesome effort on display here. :)

Bravo Xtas!

Where's his tatoo?

YES !!! great idea ... tatoo ... he will have one !!!!! thanks

Kamikaze and Rodney .... thanks for your comments, now im testing smart skin in animation..

X,

You're rendering skills are remarkable and the clay material is amazing. Keep it up.

Are you going to animate this short film to look like a clay style or are you going to animate in a more CG/Traditional style? I'd prefer you stick to an all clay look for characters, sets and animation but that is only my suggestion. Whatever you do I am sure it'll look just fine!

I really like the character! And especiually the lighting you have on him there. I was wondering if you were using a skylight rig, or if it's just lights in the chor? Thanks and keep up the good work I can't wait to see him animated!

Posted

Nice Work! Can't wait to see the chopper you've got planned for 'em, if it's anything like the cars you build-- it'll be insane.

Have any pics of the bike?

Hi Spliners :

I am retaking the pending projects little by little. When I had to travel, the modelling of the motorcycle was in stand by until today :D

I would model the motorcycle for parts, of the same way that I modeled the biker, but the modelling process was quite dynamic, and i finished it in 30 min :P

the result is here .....

critics?? suggestions???

30 Minutes to model the Cycle?

Do you have a time warp machine?

Excellent texturing. Motorcycle and biker are stylistically compatable.

Headlight and blinkers don't seem 'glassy'.

Posted

See,

This is why I believe Emilio's (not Xtaz's) first "claymation"ever in the OT forum is really A:M or... this biker dude is really clay... either way... fantastic work...

How did you get the "clay" bike to look so shiny? the only give away are those dull lamps! hee hee!

Geeze, you really are really really good at this stuff!

Posted

Hi Slpiners .....

thx for the comments friends

Headlight and blinkers don't seem 'glassy'.

thx ... they were fixed ....

more one shot ....

should I use a clay style in the bike ? what you think ????

bike3.jpg

Posted

I just love your textures/maps.

Try the bike in clay, let's see what happens.

Could you share your texturing technique, secret? Please? :)

Posted

I think that if you try to turn that bike around in a clay environment it is going to be covered in clay! Very low rider! ;-)

Personally I like the contrast between the textured and the smooth and shiney but, yeah, why not try the all-over clay look?

Great work, Marcos

Ok friends .... I did some tests whit clay and the bike, and here is my attempt
