I've just finished creating the phoneme's for my character and just had to try and figure out how this stuff works, so i Watched the "can you say that" video tut and attempted to make my own, a couple hours later out came this: Clip (890Kb Divx 5.03) Any feedback would be more than welcome I must say how impressed I am with A:M's implementation of the dopesheet etc etc..it was as easy as it appears in the video. However I did wind up with a bunch of keyframes that fall inbetween frames, is that normal? Laters

Here's the latest guy I've been modeling off and on for the past month or so... I'm planning to have him fight another ninja (a duplicate- just orange or blue or something) in a big room. Any suggestions? I'm still not completely decided on the music, or how it's all going to work out, but I want to have all the animation done by the end of August. But if anyone has any ideas for anything at all, they'd be much appreciated. thanks in advance! -Andrew

No I am Not intering it into the TSM2 contest (can't claim its mine) ,just wanted to show it Mike

Hi all. here's a jacket i'm doing for a character. known issues are things like the general shape needs a bit of tweaking and such. My specific question regards decals. I'm really looking for a more interactive method of positioning a decal. What I mean is that I want a way to apply a decal, then move the cp's around UNDER the application, till the texture is in the right place. This should take place in an Action. Right now the process works like this- apply stamp look at model delete stamp move cp apply stamp rinse repeat. what i'm hoping for is more interactive than that. Any ideas?

I've finished my latest project ('bout time I say). The 160 x 120 version is at AM:Films. http://amfilms.hash.com/search/entry.php?entry=850 For those with more bandwidth, there's a 320 x 240 video at this address: http://gutterbrothersllc.com/video/ I welcome all feedback, however I am finished with this project and will move on. So if you don't see your comments being used to fix the video, it's not that I didn't listen. In fact, I'll likely use everyones suggestions for future videos. Laters . . .

Here are some renders of my attempt to model the eponymous prop from the new Stargate series. I started it based on some promo pics that came out before the series, so a couple of features need to be "reinterpreted" now that I've actually seen the show; but even so, I don't think it looks too bad. Click the thumbnails for full-sized pics. I've also got some "white renders" of the entire model, front and back.

The new animation composite for The Huntress is pretty nice. Man that really catches my eye. I was pretty impressed with it. I showed it to a buddy of mine who is a Maya devotee and he didn't say a damn word. What did you all think?

Hi This file is a heavily compressed version of my entry to the April Competition at 10secondclub.com. I missed the deadline due to last minute compression problems. I was taking a 640x320 avi file, (13+ Mb), and attempting to get a 320x240 MPEG-1 file which fell between 1.5Mb and 1.8Mb. In the end I failed. The file shown here has been compressed as follows: 640x480 to 200x180pixels compressed with Sorenson3 at 20%. Audio compressed to 8bit mono using MACE 6:1 The results are not good so I am hoping that one of you wizards out there will be able to offer some advice. What is the best way of creating an MPEG-1 at 320x240 with decent sound and a legible …

Hi all. I really like what the programmers did with ver11, especially the way the panels slided in and out to have more room to work with. This got me thinking and I was wondering if this would be a nice feature request. It hard for me to explain so I did an avi of it. http://yojimbo1.homestead.com/files/AM.avi Cheers, --------------------------------------------- Somboun http://yojimbo1.homestead.com/main.html

Hello, all! I just bought A:M about three weeks ago, after reading a press release that an OS X version had been released. I'm not a 3D artist, but I am a graphic designer and A:M seemed like an affordable way to experiment and play with 3D. Anyway, as I started playing, I decided I'd focus on trying to figure out how to model some of the comic characters I'd worked on in the past and decided I'd start with a parody of Star Trek I'd started as a web comic back in 1996 and then did as a PDF comic in 2000. The character designs I'd used were pretty simple and there was a focus on character to them, rather than striving for likenesses. (You never know what they'll …

Hello, all. Well, this week's Animation Showdown got me really down, so I decided to cheer myself up with a new head. (Some people say a new brain is in order instead, but I just laugh at them. Hysterically. Until the persons in white coats come...) Anyway, here he is thus far, in a quick turnaround. He's my usual low-patch cartoony fare, but I think he might have potential for the future. I do wonder where to go with him next, as far as clothes and a body of some sort. Right now I'm leaning toward a gas station uniform, but I don't know why. Suggestions welcome. turnaroundhead_sor.mov

It's funny how inspiration can take you where you didn't think you were going. Case in point, John's thread on his Kapsule characters. I found them to be very cute and creatively stimulating. I have this pair of grape characters that I thought about redoing, so I did. Only thing is that in the redoing, I created totally new characters and I'm kinda surprised at the results. These characters are "bitties" (there was this elderly african-american woman who would stop by the pet store I used to manage every easter for her "bitties" -- baby chicks. The name stuck with me and I'm delighted to be able to use it) and they are kinda elfin, sorta fairy-like people. …

After talking to Rodney Baker I decided to post a project file that was the result of a discussion on making a spherical constraint with Carl Raillard on CGTalk. Here's a description of what it does: When you open the "spherical.prj" project, it should have "Action1" open and ready to mess with (if not, double-click on "Action1" to open it). What you see is "Bone1" as the bone that defines the sphere, "Bone2" as the bone you would attach any geometry to and "Null2" (at the intersection of "Bone1" and "Bone2") which is the manipulator...there is also a "Null1" that is set so that it isn't seen which helps drive this. When you move "Null2" around ("Bone2" can be …

Hello there, for those of you that have been following this in the main forum, here it is: there are some creasing problems around the legs, I tried to keep it to 4 pt patches but in a few spots I just couldn't do it. On a positive note, the creasing doesn't seem to be as visible in the final render.

Hi This is a preview render of something i'm working on. This was modelled and rendered in AM 10.5R I wanted to put the footage on top of a terragen generated animated background but there is no way of tranferring cemara data anymore. So it's on hold for now. Any ideas on how to do this would be much appreciated. Animation preview render Also here's a still I've created using a photographic background, I want this level of realism in animation as well. Any feedback and tip (especially regarding combining terragen footage) are welcome Cheers, Geoff

Hey guys, I just remembered a couple of animations I did for a fishing web site. They needed a really quick talking Stryper and an animated example of how too hook up a spedial rig using anchovies.... hmmmm. http://www.powellstripers.com/default.cfm It took about 3 days to do both anims. The lip synch could have been more robust, but for online content I guess it's OK. Comments welcome. Cheers. MU PS. I also did a talking flash card for this site somewhere.... I believe you have to click on the "maps" button and look for "Chip Powell".

This is a bit from the revised fight scene for Duck Sauce; my awesome team has been helping me make a new version to send to film festivals. I've been posting stuff to the team occasionally, but I liked the way this one turned out enough to show it to the list. The context is that the rubber chicken and the rubber duck are fighting, as the rubber pigeon saves the pink flamingo from certain death. (And what a context that is!) http://www.hash.com/users/zachbg/blog/lowe...ndFight_mp4.mov You can see the original version of the whole film on A:MFilms. Comments welcome!

Just thought that I would post a link to my ball guy outside Dagoos' cool animation thread. I haven't had a chance to fool with Pesto's ball, but it looks pretty cool. I made a few updates for better knee and heel control, but there is no extra controllers for you to worry about. www.chrisolsen.org/ballman.zip I think having a little competition using simple models like this would be a good idea for a future hash animtion contest.
