Hi hashers, I started my first model for the boxing game i wanna make today. He is herbie the frog and he will be the main player character. I modeled him in segments because i wanna keep my first game simple and this way i dont have to worry about how my joint rotaions will translate from one program to another. I just slapped those textures on there, there will be much better texture maps with details and variation. I tried to keep this model low poly so the texture maps will finish it off and maybe make the edges where the segments meet look better. I was trying to put a test eye map on his eyeball but spherical mapping isnt working in 11t for some reason, th…

Okay, so in order to be able to continue my animation excersices I need a fully functioning character. I finished the eye setup - a la Sphere's deformed in a pose to keep the pupils onthe surface(see keeKat model on hash cd) and deformation boxes to add character to the character! quick and dirty test http://www.vrcops.com/vids/DTest1.mov Mike Fitz

Hey everyone I'm back!-that's right I left . I took a 3 month break from the forums so I could focus more on animation. Here's what I pooped out. (I would really appreciate critiques. Forget that "Dont say anything at all if you dont have anything nice to say" stuff, rip them apart, that's how I learn.) Please be patient with files, they can take while to load, but do not exceed 4mb Lets start from where we left off, heres the revised version of my first walk that I posted three months ago. I still cant get the 'choppiness' of the last frames to go away. ***Walk*** + Walk in Simplified Shapes (Eliminates most of the choppy parts) A ball reacting to…

Hey all. Still working on the logo, just trying to figure out how to make it look more metalic. Also, any idea on how to create a bevel would be much appreciated.

I know, making a tunnel, and have a camera flying trough is one of the very first ideas almost every AM artist comes up with, in an very early stage ... anyway, i deceided to do something like this, just for fun, again. The tunnel is a bit longer and the flyby will have about 1000 frames. The texture is a enhance Darktree (i can highly recomend Darktree and enhance Dartktree), and i used a bloom post effect on the camera. I am quite happy with the rendering. What i am thinking about, is to make the athmosphere more submarine like, have the fog a bit stronger and add some solwly drifting particles ... jsut an idea ... what do you think? cheers, Heiner

Hey guys another guick banging animation excercise for myself. This one is a real mess lighting wise. It's really just about learning about the wonderful Chor. action feature. I swear I don't know why I didn't learn about them earlier.... would have made my life a bit easier! Anyhows, the scene for the most part has been deleted and I plan on redoing everything.... So, about it.... It's more of a Limp walk cycle, as our hero has just injured his leg jumping onto the roof of said building:)(in my head, not int he clip) Just thinking of possibilities with this. 7.8megs:( http://www.vrcops.com/vids/ForFun.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

Hi- I’ve recently purchased A.M. and have realized that as great a product as it is; I’m not going to be able to come up to speed quickly enough for a project I’ve been volunteered for! In four weeks, I’ve got to do a presentation for about 400 school employees showing them the two-year history of the building of their new school. Here’s the A.M. part-I need to show a character walking from the front of the new school straight toward the audience (about a 100 feet or so) and then have the character give a small speech (actually introducing a DVD movie). The character needs to be a cartoon version or caricature of the school district’s superintendent. A f…

Ones this projected started out by trying to find a way to do fast and fun animations. The character(s) had to be as easy as possible to animate. Why not use one cell - a one celled organism - the ones who started life on earth. I Googled on it and found: http://www.4to40.com/earth/geography/index...orldunderwater2 And they seemed to have some sexual life too: When the animal wants to have young, it simply splits into two, and each part goes its own way. And they were also dangerous some of them: Some of these flagellate animals can be a nuisance and may even be dangerous. Well they looked a bit like human beings our first ancestors: Some fl…

hey all, well this is my first attempt at making a character, so i decided to do my avatar. its kind of hard when you only have one picture to work from but at least its a side shot and not an angle. i have had tons and tons and tons of help from scott on this guy, so major thx goes to him. just tell me what you guys think of the progress so far. thx Jay

I did this as a sketch from a Molly Hatchet ticket stubb my brother had about 20 years ago. Since I have been building my collection of models I figured I would give it a try. I would like any input, especially how one would create a velvety appearance for the fur. Here's the concept. The sketch was brought into the computer and I was "painting it in PSP (kinda doing that with all my old traditional art) but AM seems a better effort hence the model.

Hey everyone. The Animation Contest guidelines specify that entries have to be 320x240 pixels, but, judging from the other entries, to quote Pirates of the Carribean, those are apparently more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. I'll know better next time. In any case, because of how dark and high-contrast my 'Mood Shot' entry was, I thought I'd provide a link to a higher-res version, for anyone who might be interested. Mood Shot - 480x270, 3MB.

Hey guys, okay, a new clip. While I'm posting these in the WIPs section, I don't plan on refining very much as I want to avoid what I always do.... get caught up working on one thing over and over again. So, my idea is to just sit down when I get a chance and smoosh something together. this took about 30 minutes yesterday and about 20 minutes today. http://www.vrcops.com/vids/TableTossE1.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

Hey fellows. I have just finished my latest work. Last week I got the idea of an wristwatch in my head an I then tried to capture it with A:M. I wanted to make a wristwatch with an touch of retro yet elegant design. The model contains 11848 patches, but the reason for that is because all the numbers and text is modelled (except for the display) The render took 13hr (9 multipass)

Hi Spliners Here my attempt to make Water with an animated Material. I know, that the waves are too fast and the color of the Water is too blue. I already changed the color ( look at the image). But before I start the next animated rendering, I want to ad some Force, to move the Hair (Grass). But I never did it before and so my question is, how to do it. CU Maszie

Maybe I'll stick w/ him jumping off. I'll aslo fix the seaping later..I just want the real basic concept of action then touch up later walkingup.mov mp4 version: walkingupjamaciga.mp4

I was playing around in AM saturday night and just got an inkling to make this just to see how close I could model a realistic one and a couple of hours later I had this. In AM it's a breeze. I'll be getting his eye's and dentures in soon and decaling. I have a little bit of smoothing to do yet I figure it'll be fairly easy to rig. Any body got any tips on how to create "murky" water.

I am currently working on a pin-up for a Heavy Metal style magzine in the UK called "Event Horizon" from Mamtor Press. It's got great work from Liam Sharpe, Glen Fabry, Steve Niles, Brian Holguin, Ash Wood, and many others. I am working on a female android called Gail from one of the prose stories in the book. She's a sex android that gains awareness and uses her "talents" as a spy and a thief. Definately not one for the kiddies. Here is a WIP of the progress so far. I am tweaking the clothes and next up is a totally different hairstlye and more texture mapping (more seams like in her legs, and android things so she's not so human) Based on the La…
