I finally got around to making a logo that I can put at the front of all my animations. Hmm, that means I have to make so animations first, but I could always put it infront of the already made tutorial animations?? Ahh well, without further ado, the one, the only............. Hi all. I recently started work on a new model. It's a very old and weathered knife with a wooden handle surrounded by a piece of leather. Just wondering if it looks anywhere near photorealistic (which i know it's not) and what i can do to improve it. Oh and, does anyone have any materials for leather? Hope you guys can help me out with this.

I decided to add a decal twice to a model and one of the times have it a normal decal..(used same decal with different name) the other color the jpg shows the color-color on the left and the normal-color combo on the right [attachmentid=11915] Looks like more depth on the right here's the project with the tga decals but the fish decals are on the cd was going to animate but it's late [attachmentid=11916] Looks like if applied correctly this could be useful..will have to read the postings on this instead of tinkering blue.zip

Amplitude creates a action for a model with a named pose in the example here the model is model1 the pose pose1 I used the secret wave file on the cd and it generated the action used here. The pose was to move the "mouth" of my elaborate model. I rendered a portion to show the results. If you have a model1 with a pose1 the action will drive the model to sync with the secret wave. [attachmentid=11827] [attachmentid=11828] Not sure is amplitude is still available was on amxchange which appears closed http://www.amxchange.com/ secret.zip secret.mov

Okay, I need to get a few things out of the way before I begin... LEGO in 2001 released a series of Toys called Bionicle. Basically it was about 6 bio-mechanical heroes (Called Toa) with elemental powers defending an ancient island (where other bio-mechanical robots lived) against an evil force. Well, since then the fanbase grew and grew and the story expanded... and I was one of the kids who was with it since it began. I'm now 15, and into 3d animation, so for the past year I've been doing things in Animation:Master... and one day I thought... "HEY! I should do animations based on Bionicle!" So here I am. Think.. Star Wars Fan Films.. and you'll get where I'm …

Shaggy called me at work the other day, and told me that he was tired of being homeless, and asked me if I could help him get a house. So, being the caring guy I am, I decided to build him a house, nothing to fancy, and still needs work, cause all it has is a garage, and a living room. So, I was needing a little input on how to add the interior to this model. It is scaled at 22 feet high, about 40 or so feet wide, and the garage is about 30 feet deep or maybe shorter I cant remember. Anyways, just thought I would get some advice from fellow hashers. Thanks James [attachmentid=11777]

Last night I got an idea of making an silly seagull, don't know why though I did not have any clear vision of how he would end up like, so I just started to spline. He is far from finish, but I think I have an good start. The wings needs a lot of tweaking, and I have no clue in how to model the tail to obtain the "style" he got so far. Anyway, after a few hours of splining I ended up with this: note that he is made just for fun. Comments or crits are highly appreciated Regards Stian [attachmentid=11774]

Well its time again for my annual student film. This year "turtles & dominos (or dominoes)" with a title still in the works. So far the story about a turtle who is finishing a large domino setup when his nephew is dropped over for a visit. Based on an encounter with my own nephew. The rules: as 2nd year students we are abided to.... - not exceed 3 min - allowed to have selective color - dialouge - sync sound A relatively up-to-date "nephew" wire render. Enjoy.

Your basic small, glass, Coke bottle. I found that I could noticeably reduce render times by separating the bottle surface into two groups, external and internal. I applied the same material to both groups but I modified the internal material instance by turning off its reflections. Even with a two reflection bounce limit it still made a difference.

'lo, Been quite some time since I posted any work at all, mostly because my lack of webspace and ability to host. Luckely, one of my friends offered me help with both hosting of my web-page and my files. I created this intro for another friend of mine(I got like many, almost 4 ) for about 6 months ago and it's the only thing I've uploaded so far, but at least it's something, right? Info and link: http://jstudios.lutrafobic.com/index.php?side=ani PS! Contains nudity. PS PS! I can't find the project, so although I'd love to re-do it, I can't unless I'd make the entire scene again. Critique is still very much apriciated, though.

This is just a test render for a animation i intend to do in the near future... this is my first render with radiosity.... and i don't know... i think it's pretty cool. I kind of like how the walls look like cement, or at least they look like cement to me. I tweaked the cornell box a little-------> changed wall color, deleted the boxes inside, and changed the color that the lights project....in order to fit what i needed, and also added some speakers i made. For the animation: the robot has a cd player on the front of him, but i can't figure out how to model the cd tray. so i might just model a simple cd player, like the ones in cars, and just put …

Hey, it's been a while since I've posted somthing new. Since i saw that wonderful katana render, i was inspired again to make something cool with animation master. I decided to make my favorite gun. The desert Eagle .50 cal (most powerful handgun today [i belive]). Rendered with radiosity, its not quite done at 2600 patches. The bullets are modifed from the one that i made in the bullet thread in the material lab. Ben C&C wanted and welcome.... even if its harsh

Thanks to insomnia I had a few hours free time last night, but not being in the right head space to do Kapsules, I decided to model a simple character. Lots of cleaning up and tweaks to do (back of the neck, thumbs and a face for starters) but I thought I'd post this stage. [attachmentid=11499]

Hi all - I've modeled the attached. Nothing too exciting, but it's proving challenging to my rudimentary skills. Thanks to Vern for his help and suggestions so far. Looking for more opinions in the area of texturing. The front view is textured with a simple gaussian blur. The back view is just A:M color right now. Does it look at all like paper (and how would I improve this texture)? Thanks for any input. ..doug

My TV production class is creating an animated short this year for a statewide film contest (FAME for all you Floridians). I figured that I would start this thread to get some useful critiques. The entire short will take place on a small pond where several frogs are going to sing an acapella version of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." I have finished the Frog characters- This is where I've run into my first dilemma. I absolutly LOVE the way the Darktree shader works on this model- It's perfect. But I applied the material at my house on my Windows machine. My school is running A:M off a MacG5. How would I go about ether burning the material on as a texture…

Okay I made a project wit two chors the first generates Thom doing two jump cycles as a tga sequence (used alpha buffer) Then for the second chor I import the sequence of tgas and use them as the sprite. I applied to model put in in chor and (not sure if necessary) choose frame at the end of each cycle to match what frame in sequence should be there ( action 1:01 so at 1:01 i chose sprite frame 1:01 at 2:02 chose 2:02)-again might not be necessary. Anyway then rendered the qt here [attachmentid=11396] project file with both chors instead of the sprite sequence [attachmentid=11397] I know its a bit rough but it hopefully will steer y…

Hello friends I'm somehow "celebrating" my 1.year anniversary with A:M and 3D (actually its little past a year). And I have put together an demoreel (warning: use of cheesy transitions and music), that shows some of my projects. The continuity in the composition is pretty bad, and I should have rendered some of the models in a better choreography, but I haven't had the time (nor the knowledge ) Let me know what you think Direct link to the demoreel (.mov, 10MB, right click and select: "Save target as...") Hope the attachement uploads....... please forgive me if it doesn't as this is my first attempt on this forum. [attachmentid=11245] I am using Roger Reynolds surface settings to check the surface for problems. This was modelled in 8.5 and then have started tweaking with the 2004 version of v11. Once again, I am really sorry if I wasted your time and the attachement didn't load. Opinions and feedback would be appreciated.
