GENERAL FORUM GUIDELINES
The A:M Forum is for technical support and the sharing of tips and ideas between users/prospective users of Hash software. It is moderated constantly by technical support representatives.
DO'S!
-Ask questions about the software.
-Assist other users... everyone was new at this once.
-Inform people of your version/platform when asking for help.
-Share resources; tutorials, models, textures, tips and techniques (link to useful websites).
-Post links to your work, or where your art is being used online (on websites, in games, toons', etc.)
-Search the A:M Forum and FAQ. The question you are about to ask may have already been answered.
-Organize and inform others about user groups, IRC chats, image and animation contests, job opportunities, etc.

User Led Forum Considerations
Firstly and foremostly, please remember this is Martin Hash's forum and that it is every A:M User's primary resource for information about A:M. In order to remain relevant we need everyone's continuing support and interest.
Secondly, understand there is a distinction between A:M (the program) and the A:M forum. There are some topics and issues that are outside the scope of this forum and most can be deduced by reading through the forum guidelines. These include such things as Hash Inc internal policies, business practices, trade secrets, and specific plans for the future not yet publicly released. Each of these would be fascinating topics of their own but are better reserved for private communications with a representative of Hash Inc.
Related to the second, is purchasing, customer service and other areas outside the purview of the common user who may have no interest in such things; subjects relating to money exchanging hands are beyond the scope of the A:M Forum and often can lead to conflicts of interest between users and/or Hash Inc. (If Hash Inc cuts you a deal on volume purchasing it's really no one else's business). Likewise, individual complaints about a product or service are best remedied by going direct with Hash Inc representatives empowered to make decisions. Please allow them them the time necessary to resolve your specific issue and consider the cost of customized solutions.
This last area is likely the source of much confusion because many see the A:M Forum as the official outlet for Hash Inc... and it is. But the forum is not designed for conducting business and private matters best resolved by going to Hash Inc directly. Similarly, bug reports are best resolved by entering them directly into the A:M Reporting system.
Many problems can be easily addressed at the user level just by asking fellow users in the forum. If someone at Hash Inc suggests the forum as a source, it is very likely a problem can be easily resolved. For tougher issues there is even more reason to take the issue directly to the source... you don't want the issue discussed... you want it resolved quickly.
Finally, remember that we want to pass this forum on to future moderators and generations of A:M Users in the absolute best condition possible. A:M is just that good a program and is worthy of our consideration.

Hello all, I am following along with the online tutorial for FW-190 fighter. I can not seem to get the measurements to match up to what is shown in the start of the tutorial. I do not know how important this but I press on making sure the scale matches in the different views when I put a new rotoscope. My second issue that makes me wonder if the part I am stuck on has something to do with it is after I create the six point spline for the first wing I group select it, go to top view using the number pad on the keyboard, move the selected spline and click the extrude button. i have been coming up with quite a lot of cool looting materials thanks to the help of my fellow form goer's but i have reached an impasse, i have loaded a darksim material that creates and effect that looks like circuitry , i want to get a particular color to glow but there is no option to set just the colors to glow that i know of. i was going to try simply placing a second object under neath and having the part i need glowing be clear , but i cant find that option either . any ideas.

OK second question for the day , i currently have a rather complex model that has many different colored sections with lots of colors, it has go to the point where the list of groups for each color has gotten a mile long , is there a way to say put all groups on leg 1 into a folder and all groups from leg 2 into a different one

I have mentioned previously that I was going to be working on makong my own Star Wars The Clone Wars Models. Right now, I am in need of some blueprints. I have been searching nonstop for blueprints to a lot of ships. Does anybody have blue prints to theses ships or know where to find their blueprints: Venator-Class Star Destroyer, AT-RT (Not the one from Revenge of the Sith, but the one from the clone wars episodes), AT-TE, Acclamator Star Destroyer, Banking Clan Frigate, Hyena-Class Droid Bomber, Vulture Droid Fighter, and the clone wars AAT (From the Clone Wars Episodes). when i make a path and stick a character on that path and give it an action to move along that path it works out great.. but when i get to the end of the path and try to move along the entire thing goes to hell! a few frames after the path-action combo if i just nudge one of the foot nulls with an arrow key for example then go back to frame 0 and play it through the entire sequence now has that nudge in it and the lower leg doesn't move like it previously did. i messed with the key frames for quite a while and still couldnt figure out how to keep the action and the movement after the action from getting mixed together

OK heres basically my problem , i need a material that will cover an object to show that an object needs to go here. and as specific as that was ill elaborate. i have a models that has multiple peaces that i will be using in a build your own sword kinda thing , what i would like is before they select a color they can see the blades type ie long and skinny or big and bulky. so i need a material that looks good some what transparent and looks like your building something

ok this should be simple but apperantly my brain lacks the ability to function correclty today. im trying to make a base os sorts in a mountain side but i cant get a mountain that actualy looks like a mountain when rendered. is there a good way to create a mountain that i dont know off or do i need to remove more blood from my caffine stream heres a quick pic of what im trying to get sorry i only had paint to work with , and size wise a persion is only about the sise of the "o" in the word road pic111.bmp

Hi everyone. I've made a short 2D animation of a sneaky walk that I want to use as a rotoscope in A:M. Its saved as a MOV file and I tried to import it as a rotoscope but it only shows the first frame. How can i get the full 71 frames in? I'm sure its something reeaaalllllllyyy obvious, but I can't seem to get it to work. Please help

A few months ago, someone posted a thread on making bump or texture maps using a photoshop type program and layers, using a rock wall image. I remember thinking, "Someday, I'm gonna wanna see this again, when I'm ready to absorb this information." Well, today's the day, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find it again. i m abit lost i made a walk cycle, constrained both my character and walk action to a path. but my character seems to move too fast along the path please how can i adjust the speed with which it moves along the path.

Hi All, I have had Animation Master for a while now but I haven't really done anything with it so I am still just a newbie. What I would like to do is import some objects from DAZ 3D, Poser and AC3D and a few others. What I need to know is, is this possible? If so, how do I do it? And finally, what control will I have over them? Ideally, I would like to scale them and move them within 3D space. For example, take a imported box and have it fly across a room and bounce off a wall. Any help with this will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hiroshi01

all of my models use the same body and unfortunately they are all the same height. when i change the size of the model in the model window and pose her later, she poses incorrectly. i'm guessing it's becuase while splines change, the skeleton stays the same size. how do i change the model size and resize the skeleton at the same time?

ok this is more of a has this happened to you vs a how do i do this qustion. iv noted that most if not all movies uploaded to the forums are in .mov format ( or quicktime usable) but when ever i try and save as .mov or render as .mov the file never finishes being built , the computer will have a link to it but its a missing file and when trying to save again it keeps giving a file file window and loses the render compleatly forcing me to rerender the whoel lenght of the movie, .avi still works i have quicktime installed so its very anoying

Hi all After using AM for modeling for over two years I'm embarrased to say this is my first attempt at actual rigging. Since I've primarily been using AM for background shots for a comic strip. This has been working great except that I hadn't been able to certain focal shots because the walls kept getting in the way. I finally decided to try and solve this problem by rigging the set so i could swing the walls out of the way of the camera whenever the need arose. Ello again i have finally be able to generate a good looking terrain for my project but have encountered a possible problem i decided to make the planet I'm on a green one with plants and such. but i digress how would be the best way to make a forest . the plants them selfs will range from small flowers to large trees and theres going to be a lot of them should they be part of the land terrain or separate entity's. any other ideas would be useful as well

OK bad puns aside i do have a question . i have a model setup to unfold in about 5 different movements and though that i could get the pose option to preform this . i attached bones to all the models parts and tired to set up a pose to do it but its not working . there is an option on the bottom that looks like the time line for the choreography but it does not seam to work . am i using this correctly or is this not how the poses option work

I have a light in a pose shining at an model. The Pose is turned on The light is set to active it has plenty of intensity. But it does not work? Did the bulb blow out? If I do the same thing in an action it works fine. What is the deal? I should note that I can see the effects of the light in the relationship aka Pose but not when the model is in the chore. And please dont say just do it in an action. That will not work for this.

Not sure where I should put this. There used to be a tut on Dynamic Constraints (I think it may have been a tech talk) that had several examples. I know it contained THE HUNTRESS as part of the examples with her ear rings and such. I can't locate it any more on the forum.
