My friend wanted a new cowboys t-shirt, but he didn't want to pay a lot for it, so he asked me to model him something with Dallas Cowboy stuff on it. So he could take it to the mall and iron it on a t-shirt. Here is the final. [attachmentid=12502] Here is the test render to see what I had. Just testing out some hair ideas and it seems to render alot faster than it did before on my slow 1.7 P4 these frames were between 3-4secs which to me seems fast for the amount of hair involved [attachmentid=12749] project file 12q [attachmentid=12750] In case I'm not on till next Year Happy 2006 to all atrees.mov trees.zip

I don't consider this a showcase, but Shaggy needs a TV set that matches his old furniture (lazy dude, kidney table etc..) so I made this simple TV model. I figured the best way to start in 3D animation is to animate a character that's already in 3D. Johnny here was actually the original concept DNA Productions had for what is now known today as Jimmy Neutron. I based him off the pilot episode design (see my avatar). I want to animate his robotic dog next, and so I was wondering if there was a free dog skeleton lying around that could use to save some time. Maybe on the Extras CD?

I recently had a system and software crash that made the prj file not accessible. Sent the file to the guys at HASH. I then went on to another project. I received an email late yesterday afternoon with the corruption removed and the prj file restored. I did loose two models inside the project but received 90 of the file back. This has caused me to back up files off the system and back up individual models on so on and so on. So thanks to the guys at HASH for the help Steve

Just an old Gnome tinkering This is a bulb light set to be volumetric then rotated with the x and y scaled to 500% and z is scaled 0-15% with an expression [attachmentid=15848] [attachmentid=15849] done in 13 alpha oh the banding I believe is a current problem with volumetrics in the alpha ..thats it for tonight transrandomlight.mov transrandomlight.zip

Here is a project file and VERY quick model to show that you can always model when you don't have a more elegant way to figure something out. From what I recall, shock waves decay out of the exhaust and that's why you get that's the bright diamond pattern. Set glow, roughness and transparency. Cheers, Eugene and the project file. E

I animated a simple distortion box on two simple models to see it this works in beta first shows boxes going over model [attachmentid=16200] the second is results [attachmentid=16201] you might want to move the slider to see the effect slowed down animdistortw.mov animdistort.mov

this is basically a couple of decals..one for displacement then one for color on a small grid. The other object is a prop from the cd and the sky is a rotoscope from the cd. I have these 3 newer models: G_Loader Gun/Corridor and this Fence Enclosure. Should I send them for the Extras DVD? Heres an Update. May not seem like much, but the single piece that goes to the Right Angle is detachable to expand the enclosure to any number in length. I also varied the Fence Rails height for more interest. for those of you how have not read the book there was a poisonous gass called "black smoke" so i'm trying recreate how it was described in the book heres my first attempt [attachmentid=17166] i didn't quite get it the way i wanted its suppose to stay low to the ground and it moves fast so people cant outrun it it is also suppose to come out of a missile from a cannon on the tripod and then come out of the missile but i cant quite seem to get the effect i want black_smoke.zip

Hello I seem to have screwed something up.......I started working on the giraffe tutorial, since I thought that might be beneficial since I still have some problems with modelling. I wanted to change the units for the grid, so I could follow along properly, from cm to ft. However, after I did that, the grid disappeared even though I have "display grid" checked. I had changed the grid spacing from .16cm to 1foot, I wouldn't have thought that would have made it disappear. I probably did something wrong, what I want to know is is there anyway to get the default settings back? Roger

Did a simple sweeper test using a path, an outline to sweep and a model to duplicate [attachmentid=19655] swept the outline E shape then duplicated the screw 15 times and got this [attachmentid=19656] since all the screws were one sweeper object easy to color and the same for the outlined shape project v13e [attachmentid=19657] look at the placement of the swept objects...it does not matter where the path is but swept object will treat it as the base relating to 0,0,0 testsweep.zip

Hey guys, Been a while since I've had any A:M'ing time. I got inspired by one of the Bradburies (I think it was Matt) who had done the planets. There are some *huge* textures out there (also, Blue Marble Next Gen is awesome cuz it has a picture for every month on the year so you can see the snow advance and retreat) that can be put to good use. I still need a cloud map, and I'd like to have some kind of auroral "roadway" from the Eastern Washington, California and New Mexico areas to finish it off. But here it is in progress. It is actually the opening screen (no text) for my thesis proposal presentation. I'll be dry-running in about two weeks, and hope…

i started on this helmet which i think is from quake...i just googled for helmet and this is the only one i saw with three sides to use for rotoscopes. i got one side of the front done but its flat...is pulling all the splines individually the only or best way to get them into thier place on the Z axis or is there an easier way? This is model of Mikke Musse . I have posted older version of it once upon a time, but Rodney reminded me that I should repost it, which I have (thanks Rodney) [attachmentid=20913] I was going for the 30's look of the character, so have in mind that they used to draw him with dimes in that time, so Mikke didn't Squashed and Stretched much... It is rigged with older version of the Squetch rig, so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles (No hand gizmo, no face rig), but it squetches well.
