Well, that topic was quite ambiguous.. I hope you get it in the 3D matters... This is my first female model in AM. I modeled the body and now the head, which was much more difficult than men IMO. Not that she's ready for a beauty contest... but at least she's very smart What do you think? Here are some links Chica 01 Chica 02 Chica 03 Note that in this image I drew her eyebrows in photoshop, since the poor girl has none yet. Emilio Le Roux

Hi Evre1 I've finally got some images to show. Here are some frames of the music video I'm currently working on. Please note that the steppy kind of effect is due to interlacing/deinterlacing. I don't know how to paste more than one image in a message, so I will post the next 3 images in consequtive replies. Please let me know what you think. Oh by the way the video will be wide screen and that's why the images are so disperportionate. (16x9) Hope you like... Francois

Here is a QuickTime link to my short "Marboxian." Some of you may have seen this at the Hash film show at SIGGRAPH; Ottawa; or one of a few other screenings. It's picked up a couple of minor awards, and audiences -- including, I'm told, a roomful of very sleepy children, once -- seem to like it. Link. Two warnings: First, the file is 114MB (12 minutes at good quality). Second, it's hosted through my cable modem, and I can't guarantee decent bandwidth. (Mike Muncy's been great to me, but I really can't afford the kind of bandwidth I'd need to host it off his servers. Or... much else right now. *sigh*) Keep democratizing- -M@

Hey, I rendered out this image and it is doing all kinds of weird stuff. Notice the splines over everything. As far as I know I didn't tell it to render out the splines. I just wanted a final image with no splines showing. Any idea why it is rendering this way? Also, I rendered out an earlier one with a volumetric light focused on the guys upper body and the background out of focus. It rendered everything behind the volumeric light in sharp focus and wherever the beam ended it had the correct depth of field...any ideas why? I may post an image of that if my explanation is too confusing. Any feedback/ideas would be helpful. I am working on it ri…

I intended to enter this in the Hash Animation Comp but didn`t finish it as I got distracted by other things. Must try harder next time. I`ve added hair to my character in AM Version 11 Alpha1. I am stunned by how fantastic this new hair is! http://www.dalemation.free-online.co.uk/CreepyTalkWIP.html Divx 3.2MB Dale.

Here's an WIP snapshot of the mascot that I am working on for my own website. I sitll nee to put bones in him, so I could animate him. But I don't have good enough understanding of constrains and cloth dynamic, so I have a work cut out for me still. I am sure it will be a great learning experience. If you have any tip, I greatly appreciate it. Here's the original 2D designs

A 32lb carronade to be exact. As would have been found on a 17th/18th century sailing vessel. Specifically the USS Constitution. This is truly my first solid attempt at modelling, animating, skinning etc. I have played around some with 3ds max but never really gotten into it. Because of the all encompasing nature of this software, it makes it more fun. The model is not quite compete, there is an elevation screw which adjusts the elevation +/-10 degrees, and a carriage of sorts that belongs on the back which allows a limited amount of horizontal motion. Plus some small details. I need some feedback. I know my materials are horrid and the bevelling leaves …

I am looking for peoples opinion on the overall look of this scene. It is a work in progress. I know the sky needs to have reflections turned off. The houses need decals, etc. I mean just by looking at this scene, what do you think?

Finally got around to getting some of my work online. Here's a link to a few screenshots of work done in AM for a series of animated soap-operas used with teenagers in schools. Doug Mouncey Animation Master examples The animations in the software link interactive elements made in Flash. I also use AM to create the graphics for these bits as well. Cheers, Doug

Couldn't attach this in my other forum, so here it is. Any criticism would be great! And I'll give a nickel to anyone who can tell me how to render the wireframe of it. Still no eyes. Or arms. Working on that. -Andrew

hi guys, don't even know if this warrants being in here judging some of the other work, but here it is anyway. I had the idea to do a dryfly now that weve got great hair. i could do with a better metal material for the hook and i'm gonna add a barb to that. the thread is a spherical combiner that is difficult to see in this shot but close up it sort of simulates thread. I did try lots of torus's but there was to much geometry and it slowed things down a bundle. The hair is not groomed, but is tapered and has a two colour gradient. The tips are slightly transparent. This is really my first go with A:M, and i hope to improve my modelling skills as i go, but any idea'…

I need a bit of help: I'm working on a head and I need to delete half to do a copy flip attach but each time I try the app drops to desktop. this happens in both the latest alpha and in v10.5. I need to delete these points to do a copy/flip/attach. Any ideas? I've been trying for 2 days. I've attached the .prj file. the points labeled "delete" are the ones I don't want. -Project file removed- (Will post pictures later)

This is my first time modeling a complete 3D figure. The Hair is fixed! Disregard the Topic description :D Here are some sample renderings of my project. I am at intermediate level with A:M The scene with the buildings was giving me some problems. I was using a streaking particle system. I wanted to create some kind of electrical force field around the building with the big orb. When I rendered it, it kept on crashing. There was some kind of bug in the streak particle system in some of the frames.I think I will keep it simple. Does anyone have tips on creating a good looking and simple force field?

I am hoping that those of you with experience can share some wisdom in the fine art of texturing a model, i can probably handle the decaling well, but the actualy process of getting a half-decent texture using photoshop eludes me. I am trying to do a reptile look, sort of monster-ish

I'm sorry, but I wasn't sure where in the forums that this post would go. Techincally I do have a WIP, but I just don't have anything to show right now. I just had a quick question: are there any tutorials on modeling armor and clothing on characters?

Hi all, My name is Sean and i've been using AM for about 6 months now. Im mostly interested in character animation and so thats what im concentrating on. Anyeays, starting a new animation with my "turn-o-the-century" style character who looks like high society material, but likes to do silly things. In this animation he sees a pesky fly and decides to get rid of it via kung fu. Just start it the past month and i havent gotten very far what with school and all (18 credits, yuck). Anyways, let me know what you folks think. Thanks alot. Sean PS. Before i can post it though, what do i do if it's larger than 1 MB? Answer that and then i can post it for you. I ha…

I posted this in another forum topic but remembered I may not have shown this publicly yet. All of the 3D logos in the foreground and background were done in A:M with a lot of help from the Adobe Illustrator wizard. I did it a little over a year ago in v8.5. Compositing by The Wow Factor. Skechers Tech (11.5 MB)

This was a landscape I did while working on a modeling method for tree's I was rather proud of the lighting as things like lighting and texturing aren't my strong points. The tree modelling method was from a tutorial. Unfotunately I can't remember the name of the person who wrote it. I would appreciate any feedback you have. I know the image isn't really complicated or anything I tend to very simple scenes in my work. But I thought the ambience in this one was perfect for what I was going for.

Hiya :) I've been working on my entry for the 10 sec club and would like to get some feedback if possible, thanks! http://demented3d.com/animation/mkrick-10sec-dec03.avi This month they're doing something different and the soundclip's in Italian! But it's from Nightmare before Xmas when Sally tries to poison the Doctor, I've added some subtitles which should help. All done in 10.5.

Yet Another Star Wars Indie, I know. But I found this piece instructive and inspirational. What's impressive is not the animated portions (not done in A:M) so much as the integration of animation with live action -- in particular, the editing and the shot blocking. The strategy and tools (DV cameras, etc.) portion is good reading, too. Needed a break today from what I was working on so I tried to model the standard Dragon. Since I usually don't model anything that complex I thought I would ask for some help. I did what I posted using what I remember from the "devil dog" modeling on the Hash tapes. meaning I started with an extrusion then cut it in half and added the legs, arms wings to the half and copy flipped and attached. There are no claws , feet or real head but I posted a wireframe and a little qt any comments suggestions welcome. http://johnl.inform.net/pages/dragon0.htm thanks

This is basically my first model. Or, at least the first one I'm trying to make from (drawn) a rotoscope. I think it's looking half-way decent at present, but I'm freaking out trying to get the rest looking right. I'm also having a great deal of problems trying to connect the frame of the window to what will be the roof of the cab. It's not in the picture (actually, it's not even made), so please try to use your imagination to pictuer what it should look like. Any assistance that can be offered, especially in the realm of smootheness, would be greatly appreciated.

Hullo I've been modelling a BMW Z4. The front is almost done. I'm rather excited because this is the first time I've been able to actually model something that looks like it is supposed to! **creases in the middle because its just a copy/flip job (Im using the Rooftop Mayhem scene because i like the lighting and i'm lazy.) (ignore the stuff inside the headlight hole) Here's a reference picture i'm using: Any comments?

Hi everyone. I'm a user of A:M since version 8.5 Used to be on the mailing list but got off a long time ago. Just thought I'd get back into the community here and show off my current work in Progress. The Model is of a Klyros a Race from the Open Source MMORPG Planeshift. I plan to animate him eventually so tell me what you think of him :D
