Hi larry - loved your character so much as shown in this thread http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&sh...ndpost&p=149036 (and I was coincidently working on animating a flame for myself) - so here is a test movie with project I decaled the yellow flame part with an animated sequence - used distortion box in an action to change shape over time, & I varied color over time, - one could also play with varying ambiance, transparency, roughness for sparks, etc - use a better flame sequence for the decals - etc, change glow parameters in chor. hope this helps some to get you going (if you haven't already) Fire.zip fire.mov

Hello, I just finally finished my first animated short film. It took me 18 months to complete but finally got it done. I want to thank everyone who answered my posts when I ran into problems your help was much appreciated. I've discovered a strange thing when using 5X multi-pass rendering with skylights in v12.0n+. As shown in the attached image I have two spheres in front of a flat shaded skydome. The first sphere has a diffuse colour of 128, 128 128 while the second is 255, 255, 255. The first pair of images shows a comparison of lighting the spheres with a single klieg and rendering an image with and without multi pass. As expected, no noticeable difference. However in the next image set, I turn off the klieg and turn on my 52 bulb skylights (a variation on one of Yves' setups). The first image shows the render with no multi-pass. The next five images are images after turn…

I made this card just for the hell of it. I wanted to try some front projection so I grabbed an older character of mine and used a family friends' picture and added the "Christmas" part. The funny thing is they liked it so much they are going to send it as an E-card, haha. I blurred out their face because I didn't really think they'd want everyone seeing them. Thanks for looking. Loooong absence from the forum... Been doing a lot of 2D work lately and had no time for 3d...but alas I can work with AM once again I'll continue with my bunny character once I get used to the application again...but until then I did this little animation late last night. Since it is the season... I did this quick and dirty to replace a Festival Of Trees (FOT) graphic that turns out not to be as original as it was shopped to them. My mom wants a video for the big FOT get together with all of the other FOT folks around the country. Still need titles and may shorten, length it. Hope the attachement uploads....... please forgive me if it doesn't as this is my first attempt on this forum. [attachmentid=11245] I am using Roger Reynolds surface settings to check the surface for problems. This was modelled in 8.5 and then have started tweaking with the 2004 version of v11. hey all im kind of puting my Jumpsuit dave project to the side until my writer/storyboard partner finishes on his end so im starting something new, and what could be easier to do than a movie with legos. started making chracters and bricks for peices made this test render shot to see how it would like as far as still maybe for a poster not sure yet. this guy is just generic guy i can make any decal i want on him and save him as a diffrent chracter (god i love legos!!) ill be working on this alot more since i dont have to wait for anyone to finish this tell me what you think so far.

Shaggy called me at work the other day, and told me that he was tired of being homeless, and asked me if I could help him get a house. So, being the caring guy I am, I decided to build him a house, nothing to fancy, and still needs work, cause all it has is a garage, and a living room. So, I was needing a little input on how to add the interior to this model. It is scaled at 22 feet high, about 40 or so feet wide, and the garage is about 30 feet deep or maybe shorter I cant remember. Anyways, just thought I would get some advice from fellow hashers. This little guy actually made it to dvd. He ended up being part of an intro for a childrens movie. The intro is approx 1:30 ish long its been a couple of months since I did it so forgive my long term memory.This is not the best pic of him but he will do for now. [attachmentid=12006]

When I bought AM and saw the cool Chewbacca model (great job whoever did that), it reminded me of something I've always wanted to see: Chewie playing some chess and ripping some poor sap's arms off. I know, not terribly original, but I still want to do it. So of course, my next step was to build an opponent. Hi everybody. It's been a while since I posted. I was working insane hours at work, blew out my back, and got fired the next day. It was a temp job though, and I knew I would get let go soon. I now have time to work on some stuff some more. This character is my spin on the Draconian from the series of Dragonlance books. Although I have the head done I have yet to decide if I will add the detail that I have in the reference with splines, or if I will try to do it with decals. Hello friends I'm somehow "celebrating" my 1.year anniversary with A:M and 3D (actually its little past a year). And I have put together an demoreel (warning: use of cheesy transitions and music), that shows some of my projects. I finally got around to making a logo that I can put at the front of all my animations. Hmm, that means I have to make so animations first, but I could always put it infront of the already made tutorial animations?? Ahh well, without further ado, the one, the only............. I decided to add a decal twice to a model and one of the times have it a normal decal..(used same decal with different name) the other color the jpg shows the color-color on the left and the normal-color combo on the right [attachmentid=11915] Looks like more depth on the right here's the project with the tga decals but the fish decals are on the cd was going to animate but it's late [attachmentid=11916] Looks like if applied correctly this could be useful..will have to read the postings on this instead of tinkering blue.zip

I am trying to get all the Halo charactors, weapons, and the blood gulch level for AM. Right now I have the Master Chief MDL from Halo and Halo 2, I can't find out how to extract the models from the PC halo. I do have a lot of .max file which are halo 3D model for a diffrent program (I think 3D max studio) but am unable to import them even as a prop. Dose anyone have charactors and/or weapons already made in AM or know How I can extract them from the PC halo or even tell me if I can open .max files into AM. Thanks JF

Hey, it's been a while since I've posted somthing new. Since i saw that wonderful katana render, i was inspired again to make something cool with animation master. I decided to make my favorite gun. The desert Eagle .50 cal (most powerful handgun today [i belive]). Rendered with radiosity, its not quite done at 2600 patches. Your basic small, glass, Coke bottle. I found that I could noticeably reduce render times by separating the bottle surface into two groups, external and internal. I applied the same material to both groups but I modified the internal material instance by turning off its reflections. Even with a two reflection bounce limit it still made a difference.

This is just a test render for a animation i intend to do in the near future... this is my first render with radiosity.... and i don't know... i think it's pretty cool. I kind of like how the walls look like cement, or at least they look like cement to me. I tweaked the cornell box a little-------> changed wall color, deleted the boxes inside, and changed the color that the lights project....in order to fit what i needed, and also added some speakers i made. For the animation: the robot has a cd player on the front of him, but i can't figure out how to model the cd tray. so i might just model a simple cd player, like the ones in cars, and just put …

Last night I got an idea of making an silly seagull, don't know why though I did not have any clear vision of how he would end up like, so I just started to spline. He is far from finish, but I think I have an good start. The wings needs a lot of tweaking, and I have no clue in how to model the tail to obtain the "style" he got so far. 'lo, Been quite some time since I posted any work at all, mostly because my lack of webspace and ability to host. Luckely, one of my friends offered me help with both hosting of my web-page and my files. I created this intro for another friend of mine(I got like many, almost 4 ) for about 6 months ago and it's the only thing I've uploaded so far, but at least it's something, right? This is a full size model of the WTC with a 6 ft nigel standing at it's base. I tried to add as much detail as possible to the model, and with a total of 17,000 patches i feel it came out pretty good. Let me know what you guys think.

Hi Here's a mechanical spider I modeled. My main problem is having the whole spider in the one 'model'. At the moment I have each leg in a separate 'model' so that I can change the copy/paste things quickly. But if I put the entire spider in the one 'model' it takes about 10 minutes to copy and paste one leg Does any one have any tips for faster copying and pasting or to reduce the amount of CP's quickly without changing the original shape? Comments appreciated

Hey Everyone! been a while since I posted, so I thought I'd show off my newly polished T. rex skull. I started building this way back when, but I just recently got my hands on a great scale model of one, so I thought I'd try to fix it (you can see an older render of it in my avatar). Some things about the render: The model is just under 4600 patches, and this render uses the cool new radiosity features, so there's just one klieg light in it, and it took just over 30 minutes to render on my 2.3 GHz Athlon64. http://www.dinocarl.com/trexskull.jpg Carl
