I made the poster for the Summer Image Contest in A:M. I roughed the idea out in Sketchbook: I really did intend to trace out the vector version in FreeHand, it has many conveniences for this sort of art, but it's been so long since I used Freehand for anything more than a simple outline I decided I'd get it done faster in A:M The "Summer Memories" text was warped with a distortion box. The sunburst text on the left was done in Freehand and imported with the AI wizard. Of course, it's all flat parts...

I am not sure, if I ever showed this off, but for my YouTube channel, I created an intro with A:M. Most episodes are in German, but every 10 episodes I have a special episode which is in (bad, non-scripted) English. Now I created the 50th episode, so I thought it would be time to show it here too... Hope you like it : https://youtu.be/7LB6dXBxazM Best wishes *Fuchur*

Hi everybody, I am not sure if many know that tradition in the US but in Germany most children (and many older childs ) do have an "Adventskalender". That is a calendar before christmas with some candy (often chocolate) in it for each day in December till the 24th.Every day you are allowed to open one "door" of it till xmas is there. (most people in Germany start celebrating christmas on the evening of 24th, not the 25th like in some other countries. Anyway: This is the digital Adventskalender 2016 from my company. It is packed with funny, deep or just very nicely done commercials from all over the world and the cover art is done with A:M. Have fun . Each …

I wanted to compile my many experiments with Animation Master recently as it pertains to a particular short I am working on. This project is inspired by Twin Peaks, the Twilight Zone, and Phantasm possibly. I am trying to see what I can get away with regarding our favorite software- Animation Master. Recently, I've been trying to rig complicated .obj models and have been utilizing smartskinning and rigging. Some of these shorts are old and I didn't understand hair and the like. Also, there's a bit of motion Capture using Brekel Pro Face 2. Anyhow, thanks for letting me post. More updates later! Adam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcQhap93-tM

When I saw the Trailer for the New Wonder Woman movie, I noticed that they are going to be using the Fokker Eindecker single winged fighter. I have always thought this to be one of the coolest looking fighters from the WWI era. A good number of years ago, I modeled the Eindecker for a short movie clip. It had the same color scheme as the one in the movie. When you open it, you will find on close inspection that it lacks detailed parts. But it is a great start for someone who wants to improve upon it and make it even better and more detailed. I'm posting this recent short animation I made with A:M with a note of thanks to everyone at Hash. Among others, Robert Holmén and Mark Largent have been extremely quick and helpful in answering questions and solving problems I encounter onVenriloquist Show.mov this journey of learning animation, and A:M in particular. This software and these forums are so very important to me - thank you!

Adam Goldman (originally) said: I just wanted to share a recent quickie I did for the annual 72 hour horror fest this last October. I had to do it pretty quickly and used a few of the items off of the A:M DVD but tweaked them. Perhaps you can recognize one or two? xhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zASqIMuhv4 This post has replaced an earlier post by Adam Goldman that was having problems displaying properly. Sorry Adam! Not sure what went wrong but it appears that it was related to the code used to embed youtube video in your post.

Hi freaks! After a pretty long abscence from Animation Master, we finally did a project again with a whole lot of A:M usage involved. It's a (web-) commercial for a company called "Lieferheld" (which some of you might know as "Delivery Hero"). All characters have been modelled, rigged, shaded, animated and rendered with A:M, backgrounds have been created with softimage and Modo. We kindly invite you to have a look at it: Lots of greetings, Elm.

I borrowed the pine tree from the forum (thank you, John Bigboote), but I believe I made everything else. My friend Adam (The Toadstool) helped me with the home made Motion Capture. Thank you, Adam. To make this short I used Motion Capture, Dynamic Constraints, Forces, several Particle Systems (hair, leaves, grass/weeds), a little Newton Physics, and Cloth along with animation by hand. Animation Master, Audacity, and Photoshop were the software used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_j5nGkfCIE

This months assignment was to illustrate the text found in a fortune cookie of your choice. My fortune cookie said "The great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do". So I rendered out a version in A:M and then hand "painted" the image in photoshop, to get a more scribbly, spontaneous feel. Here's both versions before and after PS. (EDIT: adjusted levels on hand rendered to bring out the highlights, tad more contrast)

Recently did this work for Jet's Pizza Facebook page... this is all 4 episodes edited together... had FUN doing this! The story was crudely storyboarded for me, so I wrote none of it. I made HUGE use of the After Effects distortion filter called 'turbulent displacement' in this. Jets COMICsmall.mov

This has been a fun little project, every month Jet's Pizza asks for 1-3 little vignettes to add to their Facebook page to keep it lively... highlighting some event for that month. Initially, they wanted 2D hand-drawn animation... and as I have aged I have not had the where-with-all to do 2D hand-drawn cartoons anymore... its a LOT of toil! I designed JetMan in A:M trying to keep within their established design and added the SAUCY Rig to animate him, render with the toon shader... its working pretty good! Each month 2-3,000 people view the segments- and Jet's is happy with the turnout. They give me a very-very rough idea and the freedom to take it from there... I try to p…

I needed a 'cupid' character for my animation idea for Jet's Pizza... didn't have a lot of time. Was considering 2D 'hack' animation... I scribbled a design on paper and noticed my baby Cupid was mostly drawn with circles... which in 3D relate to SPHERES! So I 'sphered' together a very quick baby model, and after adding some details- had a good Cupid. Since I knew the actions I needed were quite limited (shoot an arrow) 13 bones were all I used to throw an impromptu rig for animating him. I am growing fond of using the Gradient material when toon shading, here I placed one on his wings. These Jet's animations I am hoping will continue to come... they wanted 2 for Vale…

Hello Everyone, About 12 years ago I finished a cartoon that I had been working on in my spare time for about three years. The cartoon was called Sev Trek. From a financial point of view, it did very well. First by selling videos on the website, to having a distributor market the DVD worldwide. The rights to the cartoon automatically returned to John and myself a few years ago. So now the cartoon can have a new life on Youtube. I animated the cartoon from the first scene to the last, and if you watch carefully you will see my animation skills get better. You will need to be a Star Trek fan to get most of the jokes. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCviNaeOZoVZlUen-BQ9NMU…

I meant to enter this model in the Insect contest, but I didn't make the deadline. The background picture is one I took of Mt. Hood. The flies are from one of the extras cds. This months prompt: Make a book jacket (cover) that will be used for a volume of Edgar Allan Poe Stories. So I started with rendering from A:M an image or 2 of the crow model (from Scarecrow of Oz) - and then I proceeded to work up a variety of concepts (in photoshop) - the last image is probably what I will go with. But I might try doing at least one more concept - different altogether, more childlike, and probably including a cat.

This month's prompt from Society of Visual Storytelling is "The reindeer got the flu so Santa used ???...." (fill in the blank) Here's my "probably" entry (I am resisting adding more detail, stuff since I tend to over complicate my compositions..but ya never know) If you see something that looks familiar in this image - it's probably yours. Yes. All artists steal. But good artists steal a lot! (or something like that?) Thanks to Matt Campbell I frankensteined his wonderful car (peaked it and textured it with wood, got rid of roof/cab), modified (rigged) one of his Xmas ribbons, made an image hose of his snowflakes (I used in Painter) Thanks to "Tin Wo…

Just finished a holiday Facebook animation for the Jets Pizza Franchise, turned out nice! I am trying to get more work from them... The snow was made using my 'snow machine' which is available in the Contributors Cue forum... the hand is from my 'Hat Guy' featuring SSS skin... the fire was just a video of a fire placed on a patch in the scene... the flickering lights on the tree was a 2nd pass added additively in AE, I set a light to lens flare with 'fade behind objects' on, and made a 'scribble' in 3-dimensions and used the 'sweeper' wizard the sweep dimension to it, placed it in front of the lights(I had placed in the chor on the christmas tree, and rendered only th…

A little show-n-tell... Last month, I got a chance to put A:M to a big test... needed to make a field of falling tangerines that would wipe the screen, and some various cloth effects at an obtusely hi-resolution... 12,000 px wide by 1280 tall. I used Newton Dynamics for the tangerines but they are simply shaped. My 1 minute opening video(Rife with Hash animations) showed before an audience of 5,000 at the US Foods convention in Orlando, I was lucky enough to attend as last minute changes happened. What is better than X11 Release 23? X11 Release 24! "X11" was the software that ran Nortel's Big Switch. This is a program open I did at Nortel in 1999 with A:M v7 This was before the "font wizard". A:M could create the outline of a font but you still had to extrude the sides, close off the front and back and create your own bevels if you wanted them. IDL_R24_OpenH.mov

I've signed up for a monthly subscription for the Society of Visual Storytelling - excellent instructors, with the most amazing excellent, creative students, & interesting courses! (I am such a noob). Every month (third Thursday) they have a contest. This month (October), the prompt was "None of the animals could believe their eyes. The aircraft worked! For the first time, Ostrich was actually flying." I entered at the last moment (first time), and my entry was not finished. So I've continued to work on it .Still not done, as I don't feel like the illustration tells a good enough story. But I'm tired of it, so I probably won't go any further. Here is what I …

I finally finished my Flash Gordon Fan Film. It's certainly not perfect, but if you've ever worked on a long, paced, and staged projects from idea to screen, you know how long and how much work it takes. I've been doodling again with "paper dolls" and experimenting with a variety of ways to render "flat" characters, to sorta get a "scribbly" look. To document for myself (and hopefully others will find some seed to use), here are some of the variations on my Paper Man character - seen in this first image. I think I still like this render style best for these characters - but it was worth it to experiment for possible variations some other time
