I decided to look at bvh files and got one and used shaggy in a very rough attempt to get the feel for using the bvh action. I only matched four points of shaggy to the file which you can see since i did it in shaded mode so it is not very good but you get the idea 653k bvh.mov

Hey Guys..I'm doing a whole bunch of stuff right now I decided to try modeling the GI Joe Submarine Plane vehicle..I plan model the little details seperatley..also, the reason why the vehicle is peaked is because it's easier to model that way..this isn't much: EDIT: Here's a link to the pic linky

some of the models on the new CD there are a few more but it started too get crowded....I just noticed the wookie's arm is only showing .... should mention i just dragged them onto the chor and sort of arranged them did not try to pose which explains the arm positions

Spent some more time today trying techniques for compositing shaded dynamic hair. Here's the result so far. New shaded composited hair movie. Total render time on an Athlon 1400 (hair pass and composite pass) was about an hour and a half! Phil

Hello Hashers, Been playin with this idea for awhile as my normal disclaimer no real reason for doing it other than to help on my learning of AM this time "Pose sliders" (on/off and %) mainly. The same thing can be accomplished other ways. The lowdown on the Rig. File contents (zip) appx 30 KB 1- Sun Rig model (Sun Rig x9) 1- Sun Rig Constraints action Load model and action into your project. drag model into your Choreography and drag action file into/onto the Ssun rig model in the Chor. This is to anyone whose work belongs to a label, or anyone who had used pre-recorded music from a commercial band that is carried by a label. Now, in the past for some film work, I have used commercial music and had to go through the artists, their label, ascap, and bmi to get written permission to use the music for our production, along with paying a one time fee (or in some cases no fee as long as we listed everything in the credits). Hello All, I have a situation where I have created a walk cycle and want my character to wave and turn his body during and after the cycle. The problem is that as soon as I move any bone which is keyed in the walk action, it wipes out all the previous keyframes from the action for that specific bone. So, for example, the feet are cycling quite nicely along a path and if halfway through I move one of the foot control bones just slightly, then that specific bone no longer cycles normally. (I hope this makes some sense). Can someone help me out here? Thanks, Eugene

I've been bending these splines forever. It started out as a project to learn AM. The modeling is essentially finished unless someone notices a glaring flaw. The head and body were modeled and decaled separtely. I wonder if the proportions and the decaling aren't matched? I'm not finished texturing and the hair is still preliminary.

I recently changed my Avatar to a clip of one of my 'gurlee gurls' unleashing her hair, it worked pretty well for a test...thought I would show the gang. In the model, the character's hair is 'down' with dynamics ON...then I made a pose with hair 'UP' and dynamics OFF... and as I animate I turn the pose from ON to OFF and the hair falls and becomes dynamic, which I thought was purty cool... I plan to further explore the ability to use grooming mode in poses and actions. To see the clip, simply roll-over my avatar and a button will appear to see the QT sample.

Hey out there In one of the WIP threads (about the biker character I think) I was very impressed w/ the clay texture. I don't really have any money to buy texture packs unless they are reasonably priced (say $50) and was trying to think of ways to fake it. Would I be able to scan in some modelling clay and use that as a basis for a texture? Maybe also as a displacement map? I would rather use an algorithmic texture if its going to produce better results. thanks Roger

Hey guys, I finished modeling the unhatched egg...now I have the rig started. I'm using a format I haven't used before, but it seems interesting and efficient (jason osipia?). I learned this through other people's project files and stuff.... the actual rig on the egg is standard. (IK legs, FK Arms). I realized I made a mistake on the decal after I put it on...I wrote "right forearm rotate" twice and I didn't write "right bicep rotate" at all...gotta fix that I'll also post up a shot of the model in it's neutral pose again...
