Ones this projected started out by trying to find a way to do fast and fun animations. The character(s) had to be as easy as possible to animate. Why not use one cell - a one celled organism - the ones who started life on earth. I Googled on it and found: http://www.4to40.com/earth/geography/index...orldunderwater2 And they seemed to have some sexual life too: When the animal wants to have young, it simply splits into two, and each part goes its own way. And they were also dangerous some of them: Some of these flagellate animals can be a nuisance and may even be dangerous. Well they looked a bit like human beings our first ancestors: Some fl…

Here are two of my scripts, one is finished (The Apartment Sketch) And the other (the Juggler) isn't finished yet, but it's very good, I think. Let me know what you think... They're both in Word format right now, but I can convert them if anyone needs it... The_Juggler.doc

Hey I am going to be doing some story boards today and then scan or "film" them with a webcam to get them into my pc, then edit them together w/ my narration in order to have a rough working draft of my film. As I finish a scene, I am going to splice it into the animatic, til the whole thing is done. I figure this will give me a more concrete idea of what I've got done and how much is left to do rather than try and just animate scenes at random. What I'm wondering is: what's the best way to put this together? Use something like premiere? I think I have an old version floating around. Can I just scan each image once and then do a hold on it? I reall…

Hey out there In one of the WIP threads (about the biker character I think) I was very impressed w/ the clay texture. I don't really have any money to buy texture packs unless they are reasonably priced (say $50) and was trying to think of ways to fake it. Would I be able to scan in some modelling clay and use that as a basis for a texture? Maybe also as a displacement map? I would rather use an algorithmic texture if its going to produce better results. thanks Roger

Here's a look at a model I'm working on. The original sketches in the corner were done by my wife, she has a wonderful drawing style (I think, anyway), that's almost anime, but not quite. The head is coming along nicely, I think, but the areas on the body that concern me are the shoulder area next to the breast (I've highlighted it in red) where there are 4 five point patches in a row. Is this going to be a problem when the shoulder moves? and if so, what can I do to fix it? Also, is the butt going to cause me problems as is? Will I be able to fix them with some smartskinning? And how does it look so far to you? Thanks, Lazlo

This is a Wings3D import of a 3DS model of the Master Chief character from the Xbox game "Halo". Master Chief A:M model About all I can get it to do is load. Neither the bones nor the skin made it across the translation. Anyway, is there any way at all to get this mesh rigged? I wouldn't know where to start on something like this. Is there any way to kind of spline "over" it to make a true A:M model instead of a poly mesh? It's for an amateur fan video a bunch of friends and I are making for the Halo 2 launch in November. If anybody has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them. If there are any professionals out there, how much would a…

Upcoming project. Currently I am working on 3 small trailer films. They will be 2 minute short stories which will allow you at the end to vote which series you would like produced. I will be creating Webisodes of each episode and they will be made with Animation Master and various other programs. I hope you enjoy and I hope to keep this updated with my latest characters.

Okay, You've looked and probably got the shot cached on your hard-drive now, so I'll have to ask you to delete it as quickly as possible... Just kidding, it's not that much of a leak anyway, but this is a shot of what my 3D-paint application is capable of outside of A:M, still working with patches and MDL models. (and yes it probably is the ugliest fish you've ever seen;-)

I'm still really new to Animation Master, but so far, I've gotta say it's a really really fun program. I haven't posted anything in this forum yet, but I've just been messing around with various things, trying to learn my way around, and here's some of the stuff I've come up with. Let me know what ya think. I mainly did this to test the limits of my computer, and boy, did it struggle towards the end. It's a menger sponge, which are pretty nifty, with a depth of three. http://darklemur.com/menger3.jpg Recently I tried modeling some K'nex pieces that I found in the basement, and then I followed some instructions and build some variety of flying dealie. I know, making a tunnel, and have a camera flying trough is one of the very first ideas almost every AM artist comes up with, in an very early stage ... anyway, i deceided to do something like this, just for fun, again. The tunnel is a bit longer and the flyby will have about 1000 frames. The texture is a enhance Darktree (i can highly recomend Darktree and enhance Dartktree), and i used a bloom post effect on the camera. I am quite happy with the rendering. What i am thinking about, is to make the athmosphere more submarine like, have the fog a bit stronger and add some solwly drifting particles ... jsut an idea ... what do you think? cheers, Heiner

Hi hashers, I started my first model for the boxing game i wanna make today. He is herbie the frog and he will be the main player character. I modeled him in segments because i wanna keep my first game simple and this way i dont have to worry about how my joint rotaions will translate from one program to another. I just slapped those textures on there, there will be much better texture maps with details and variation. I tried to keep this model low poly so the texture maps will finish it off and maybe make the edges where the segments meet look better. I was trying to put a test eye map on his eyeball but spherical mapping isnt working in 11t for some reason, th…

Hey everyone I'm back!-that's right I left . I took a 3 month break from the forums so I could focus more on animation. Here's what I pooped out. (I would really appreciate critiques. Forget that "Dont say anything at all if you dont have anything nice to say" stuff, rip them apart, that's how I learn.) Please be patient with files, they can take while to load, but do not exceed 4mb Lets start from where we left off, heres the revised version of my first walk that I posted three months ago. I still cant get the 'choppiness' of the last frames to go away. ***Walk*** + Walk in Simplified Shapes (Eliminates most of the choppy parts) A ball reacting to…

Hi- I’ve recently purchased A.M. and have realized that as great a product as it is; I’m not going to be able to come up to speed quickly enough for a project I’ve been volunteered for! In four weeks, I’ve got to do a presentation for about 400 school employees showing them the two-year history of the building of their new school. Here’s the A.M. part-I need to show a character walking from the front of the new school straight toward the audience (about a 100 feet or so) and then have the character give a small speech (actually introducing a DVD movie). The character needs to be a cartoon version or caricature of the school district’s superintendent. A f…

Hi This is my latest project I have been working on. I made the entire model using the 3D model in the "Dawn of War" demo. I also used it for the decals (print screen). My only concerns are that: - the laser from the 3rd tank isn't 'fuzzy' enough - the sides on the tanks are to plane Any comments would be appreciated

Hey guys another guick banging animation excercise for myself. This one is a real mess lighting wise. It's really just about learning about the wonderful Chor. action feature. I swear I don't know why I didn't learn about them earlier.... would have made my life a bit easier! Anyhows, the scene for the most part has been deleted and I plan on redoing everything.... So, about it.... I'm starting a new thread for my Oz wips so that I don't clog up the Movie forum with my stuff. Plenty of room there for other people to post their ideas though. This is still a rough walk cycle but it's close to the tired trudge that I was after. Not quite but close. Still playing with dynamics, still need to sort out the stiffness of the walk and fix the way the backpack reacts. No facial rig yet, that's the next step.

I was playing around in AM saturday night and just got an inkling to make this just to see how close I could model a realistic one and a couple of hours later I had this. In AM it's a breeze. I'll be getting his eye's and dentures in soon and decaling. I have a little bit of smoothing to do yet I figure it'll be fairly easy to rig. Any body got any tips on how to create "murky" water.
