  1. Please find more hours! I love your work. Great start on your model If its any consolation, I've learnd alot, and I mean alot from your messing around:)
  2. Nice showreel. I fell for the mouse, great model
  3. drag the image from the main Image folder (on the top of A:M's pws) and onto the decal image folder. You can set the Type of image and other attributes within the decal image folder
  4. Simply drag and drop your bumpmap (if the bump and colormap has the same ratio as Paul mentioned) into the image folder on the decal
  5. Yet another aircraft has been added. The new member is an Breguet Alizé. I've also updated the other aircrafts and added a few details here and there. Still a lot to do
  6. I can't say it enough how impressed I am with your work! Keep it up
  7. Hi You control the quality of the AO render with the 'Occlusion Sampling', The lower the setting is, the more grainy the render will be and faster it will render. Sampling set to 10 is ok for testrendering. 25-40 is ok for final rendering. I feel there is no need to go much higher since the cost of rendertime is to much compared to the quality. Those abowe was rendered with sampling set to 40 and took between 1 too 2 hours to render at 2048x1024
  8. Thanks. The lighting is simply regular AO with a sun. I hope to be able to make a scene for it when I'm finished
  9. Thank you so much guys! I consider beveled edges to be one of the most important things to make when it comes to mechanicle modelling. Very important to have bevels when it comes to lighting. Makes a huge different. I often use the primitves as a startingpoint (using a corner or something of the model)
  10. Impressive start! Your modelling skills rock!
  11. New update! I've modelled a few vehicles and a aircraft (more aircrafts to come). I've decided to keep the models very simple to be able to finish up this project within near future. I've attached wire renders of the new stuff Let me know what you think so far
  12. Google is my friend:) Basically, I search for images on the internet, and in this case I also bought a scalemodel of the ship that I use as reference
  13. Thanks guys Here is a new update. I've added a lot of knick-knack on the superstructure. Mast and radars and stuff like that. And a crane standing right behind the superstructure
  14. Very nice. I especially liked the last clip
  15. Cool! That would be great as a tattoo.
  16. I like it. It would be fun to see a "fly over" shot
  17. Yeah, that would be fun:9 I don't have time to eat much, thats for sure Here is a new update. Some details added to the superstructure:
  18. As promised here is the tut:) Keep in mind that I'm not very good writing tutorials, so this is an 'as is' product Hope you'll find it helpful anyway >>Moved the tutorial to the first post
  19. The material I used on the ghost is just the glass material found on the disc, just with a green tint:p Btw, I've just uploaded the image to CGTalk
  20. Thanks guys. I'll try to write down a small rendert tut and post it here tomorrow (I'm not home right now)
  21. Hi guys First of all, thanks to everyone that voted for my entry:) The reason for modeling this car is that it is one of the coolest cars that I know of (next to Il Tempo Gigante). This image is rendered using IBL with HDRI from Dosch Design. The background image is also from the HDRI, only rendered out separate and used as a rotoscope -> frontproject target Here is a second view of the car and a wire. Let me know what you think. Best regards Stian *edit* As promised here is the IBL tutorial:) Keep in mind that I'm not very good writing tutorials, so this is an 'as is' product Hope you'll find it helpful anyway IBL_rendersetup.pdf
  22. Amazing. Your work is truly inspirational!
  23. Thank you so much guys:) Yes, I actually do have a regular dayjob:) This project is as mentioned a lunch break project (and whenever I have some spare time), since I use most of my available time after job to work on TWO. I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, 2048MB RAM, but I do have to break the model up in pieces and assemble them in an action (Tirpitz consisted of 20 separate model ) Best regards Stian
