  1. I found 'Refind Normals in both v13 and v15. Right click in the modeling window

    It is uploaded to CGTalk

Thanks Here is a minor update. I consider this project done. I'm not to satisfied with the IBL render though, so I might do a few more test when I have the time
  4. Actually, there is. If you rightclick a model you can select 'Refind Normals'. Not sure how well it works though. Anyway, your model looks really great so far!

You guessed right for sure That Mustang was a lot of work I tell ya. I had to plan the transformation from the beginning. Here is a new update. I've tried my best to dirt it up, I don't think I can do better than this. It was a good exercise though. Keep in mind its not done yet. I got some more dirt to add (especially on the wheels). Anyway, let me know what you think

It sure would be cool! But I dont think I have the time to do such a project I'll see what I can do about that:) I have a few blueprints (linedrawing) that I use, but they dont match very well. And I have a few photos of it. Some eyeballing do occure though. I've linked to one of the blueprints: blueprint - sideview Here is also a new update:

Thanks guys. The materials is still just for testing. I might adjust them when the model is done Its not the material, but the environment that is the most crucial. Rendering with soft reflections also helps on the look

Thanks! I've started working on the shovel. I feel that a lot of a bulldozer's identity relies on the shovel, so I think its finally starting to look like something:)

Thanks guys! Here is a new update:)
  10. Impressive start. The model looks very clean. I'm going to follow this thread with great interest

Wha... Huh... How? What? How did you guess that? I'm impressed! However, my dozer is more an frankendozer, due to a mix of various references of the 752, ranging from mid 90's till now. Btw, thanks for the image! I haven't seen this before. Its going to help me a lot. Also, its good to see an image where you see how glossy the paint actually is, when its clean that is

It would be fun to have them rigged, but I've rigged some tracks before (I made a robot with tracks few years ago, with much less tracks), and that was really much work. So I guess I probably wont do it, unless I need the model for some animation

Thanks guys! I agree. But I haven't worked much with the materials yet. I'll probably tune down the reflectivity some and hopefully add some dirt In this case its just AO Of course, here you go:

Thank you for the heartwarming comments! Here is yet another update. It should be easy to see what the model is going to be?

Thank you guys! Here is a minor modeling update and a material test. The materials are not final, just for fun
  17. Funny concept. I like it. How did you do the brain? is it modelled or some kind of bump?

Thanks guys. Its not going to be an exciting model, a pretty boring one actually. Tralfaz did get the color right though:)
  20. Thanks guys! The reflection is achieved by a pure white HDR image. A trick I learned from the Bradbury brothers The image is rendered with 16 multipasses. DOF is really hard to work with on macro images like this, because I found out that DOF doesn't work when the focus is closer than 50cm to the camera. You are right about the shininess, I hope to find some time to add some scratches Yeah you might be right. I used a photo I found on the net as ref. I did only find one, so I wasn't able to double check It is 15 balls with to different materials (the color is adjusted on the models itself), one material for the solid balls and one gradient material for the striped ones. I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the tip. All the balls are the same size
  21. Great start! Smooth modeling! Can you share a wireframe?

Hi guys I've just started modeling a new model. I want you guys try to guess what it's going to be, while more and more gets revealed along with the progress. So far I've just modeled the belts, but more to come. The mesh is insanely dens though, but that is due to various bevels and holes. Let me know what you think so far
  23. Ok, so I found some sparetime. Here is a small update. I've fixed the 9 ball and redone all the colors. The colors are based on a set of billiardballs I found with the help of all mighty google. They are now less saturated
