Xtaz
I was reading de Rodney's post about WIP banner in the jobs forum... and I thought of a project based in wood gears and perpetual motion machine .... here is it ... no keyframes in this animation as you can see in the image below ... all moviments are based in expressions. I'll post the project tomorrow ... it's on my office's machine. engrenagem.mov

Paul Forwood
That's great, Marcos. Too much friction for perpetual motion but a very nice model and an excellent demonstration of expressions!
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 1, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted October 1, 2011 Ya got me convinced! Throw some Lemon Pledge on it and that will solve the friction problem.
John Bigboote
I was very entertained ! I enjoyed watching it go... and laughing... and wondering, could it work?
Fuchur
Very nice, I have been into Expressions in other programs, but never had much success with the once in A:M. So seems like I should have a look at them again . Best wishes *Fuchur*

Xtaz
Thank you friends ....to solve the problem of friction I asked sponsored by KY I produced a little tutorial showing how to setup it ( sorry my bad english ) and I attached the PRJ in this post too. gears.zip gear_setup.mov
mouseman
Great stuff! Very straight forward when you set it up so well! The only thing I thought of ... could you make the Crank a child of the Secondary Gear and save creating the expression to rotate Crank.Rotate.Y to be equal to Secondary Gear.Rotate.Z? Xtaz
... could you make the Crank a child of the Secondary Gear and save creating the expression to rotate Crank.Rotate.Y to be equal to Secondary Gear.Rotate.Z? you are absolutely right....On the spur of the moment I forgot this little detail my mind was stuck on the use of expressions ... Admin Rodney Posted November 19, 2011 Admin Share Posted November 19, 2011 Marcos, This is just a note to let you know I haven't forgotten your Perpetual Motion Machine. I should be able to get into the project this coming week! Edit: I watched your video tutorial and the one thing that pops into my mind is... How in the heck does someone come up with this stuff!?!!? After the fact I see the simplicity in it but setting it up for the first time... Impressive stuff Marcos!
