  1. yes. If you're having trouble activating one, select its CPs then hit the period key twice. If you want a hook on the side of a 5-point patch, attach it after you've turned the 5-pointer on.
  2. The updates are really full installers, just run them. What's not working? I think there were two different CDs that ran v12 so there may be two different v12 installers.

  7. Hey, that was icky! There might be some up and down jitter of the body to plus it, but i don't know much about spider walks.
  8. Anytime I have a situation that doesn't work like i expect i start removing elements until I get something that works like I would expect with what is left. Then i know the last thing i removed is either the problem and I'm either not using it right or my expectation wasn't right.

  10. This is a very disappointing circumstance. When I explained this material to Jason i thought I was helping him get a specific project done, i didn't know he was going to turn around and immediately post it here. I told him that I did NOT want to make a tutorial on it yet because I was hoping to write a comprehensive book on cloth in A:M. I've spent more than a year figuring cloth out and wanted to recover some of that effort by selling a book on it. Posting this here very much damages the potential of that project. I've emailed him twice telling him i didn't want this up here yet, but it's still here, which is very disappointing to me.

  13. I agree that it's generally easier to do all your animation in the chor. Making Actions separately adds a layer of complexity to everything.
  14. In the chor, move the model bone so that the start of the second third action has the figure appear to be in the appropriate spot. set the interpolation of the channels for the model bone to Hold so the bone doesn't move until the second third action comes up.

  17. Increase the damping, I think. I was looking at some movie dinosaurs last night thinking that all that sliding and sagging skin might be doable with cloth.
  18. Mike Sanderson hasn't been around for a while but he helped quite a bit on TWO and was nice enough to give me a tour of DNA here in Dallas while they were working on "Ant Bully". He showed me a shot he was doing layout on and noted a problem that was crashing their software and their support crew couldn't figure it out. We both agreed it would not be a problem in A:M but, unfortunately for them, they were using Softimage. I don't know where he landed after DNA folded, but Happy Birthday, Mike, where ever you are!
  19. Is... that a green banana in your pocket- or are you just happy to see us...? Seriously tho--- cool test... BOTH objects are cloth, right? Yes, both are cloth. Half the battle was getting it to fall into the pocket
  20. I doubted it, but it is possible to create a cloth pocket and drop something in it. PocketDrop000.mov Further R&D would be needed to get the look right.
  21. TSM2 lives to rig another day! Great test. Can do a Shaded render of that with the bones showing? People would find that interesting.
  22. Whenever you try something like this, start with a simplest possible case like dropping one hard object on one soft one. For cloth hard objects choose Springs for stretch type and bend type and set the stiffness very high, at least a thousand.
