  1. When the US gvt. spends $18,000 for a toilet seat, what's a Mylar for gift wrao?
  2. Is the deck supposed to be that flat or will you be adding manholes, port holes, elevator pads and what have you?
  3. Congrats on this opportunity. Nice looking model & set. Are the legs and tanks supposed to be made from the same materials? I would think the tanks are covered by that gold reflective materials while the legs are stainless? Then again, what do I know, I'm no rocket scientist
  4. >droooooool< This is top notch stuff. Keep up the great work!
  5. Good to see you again Markeh. That looked sweet.
  6. Good to see you back Jam. It's been a while
  7. Oh yeah - and modeling it isn't?
  8. Just in case someone's been looking for one, here's a link: http://www.colins-loft.net/CoopHands.html
  9. Hey Deej. I'll be in Germany on Aug. 1 and leave Aug. 17. I'd like if we can meet over a cup of coffee or something?
  10. Glad you found the problem. This is an easily overlooked step. A constraint at 100% will stay that way until you tell it otherwise, meanwhile it will not allow you to move those bones because it would be conflicting with that constraint command. Good job. That's how I learned A:M. Trial & error
  11. If you go back to TAoA:M, Flower Power lesson, notice how he makes the leaf. He doesn't just connect the cp's to close the leaf, he adds a cp outside the leaf, ,then on the leaf then another one outside the leaf he then deletes the outside cp's and that'll give you a straight spline. Eric showed an excellent example.
  12. I'm glad to see you back at this project. I'd like to see a cloth test on the cape!
  13. Yup! Makes life easy if you model 1:1 scale.
  14. Thanks for sharing Marcos. I think I voted for yours, can't remember now. I agree with Rodney about the brick work, most impressive Can I have the brick file? Or at least show me how you did it?
  15. I used the dopesheet with the dictionary. It is so fun to use I have a hard time resisting but I read that it is better to manually lipsync with phoneme poses. Or maybe not? You could still use the dope sheet, the draw back is the chatter of the mouth movements that occur because the program is trying to animate each and every syllable tht you put in. You can either tweak it after you're done or simply do it all manually, depending on how realistic you want your animation to be. In reality the human mouth doesn't move that much when speaking. Film yourself or look in the mirror as you speak those lines, you'll be surprised at how little movement is needed. Do you have the book "Stop Staring, Facial Modeling and Animation Done Right" by Jason Osipa? He goes in great detail on this subject alone. It might be worth your while to read it. Keep up the good work.
  16. Hey, pretty good job modeling and animating. I agree the hair needs a little work. The lip-sync looks like it chatters too much. Did you use the Phoneme feature?
  17. The book you have is just to get you started. After you finish the exercises you'll b able to figure out how to manipulate camera work.
  18. This is a major undertaking. Exciting stuff. Good start Greg, I don't know if it's the reflections on the tank, but this area doesn't look like it's translated in your wireframe. It looks like there is an extra bulge as it goes back towards the rear. [attachmentid=18281]

    blink???

Create bones for the eyelids then you can animate the blink.
  20. When we were at the Hash Bash, my wife & I thought it was a photograph until Stian told us he made it. We marveled at Stian's skill level at realism. I too voted for it. I'm glad to see it take 1st place. Deservedly so.
  21. That's gonna look great. I like the girl picture on the wall
  22. Where do you find those buttons David? I'd like to know myself.
  23. Hah! That was great.
  24. Right on Will, that was superb
  25. I can't model/animate while the chat room is in session. I find it distracting, and I'd feel bad ignoring someone who's trying to get my attention. So, I either chat or A:M, never both. After the chat I sign off and close the window.
