  1. Looking good...keep posting progress, please!
  2. That is a LOT of great work...WOW!
  3. You could use BOTH! (have short hair emitting from that beard-base and groom it down) If you use solid modeled hair...you could use a dynamic constraint to get secondary motion...however- collision detection with the DC is tough. Particle hair looks more real, but there IS additional effort with it. IT'S TOTALLY UP TO YOU.
  4. I'm hearing it thru both...it may be mono because of compression, but it is coming out both my speakers.
  5. Plenty Nine! Happy Happy Day, Mr. Bryant!
  6. and forgot to mention I LIKE your graphics design there!
  7. Took a look at your project... There's many ways to accomplish that look...environment maps...matcap shaders...OR, as I am trying in the attached prj... turning ON reflections for the models and then giving them something to reflect. I did that simply by placing a sky image (you can replace) into the choreography just behind the camera. Let me know if that gets you going in the right direction. reflectionB.zip
  8. Keep at it J! We are all behind you! Don't drink too many RedBulls...have an apple instead.
  9. Lest ye forget to SIGN OUT when ye are done (Don't just close the chat window) or you will continue to hear the chat indicator bell.
  10. Thanks for the reminder! It works GREAT! Just had a little impromptu chat with Rodney... I'll be checkin-in there more often!
  11. Haven't looked at your project, but I LIKE the idea of cloth as hair, I even tried it once in the past... using thin cloth strips to make a sort of 'mop-top' and then decalling them with a hair texture- never got what I wanted and gave up. After my RECENT experiments(shameless plug http://www.youtube.com/user/campydoodles#p/a/u/0/UdUVO9K2Avs ) I've learned that you need to approach the cloth feature with respect...there is a lot it can and cannot do... a lot of people think it is an easy feature once you get the magic settings and it is not. Each action or scenario needs different setups... you will need to dink with your keyframes once simulated... you will need to know how to combine keyframes from different simulations... mainly, you need to learn to think around the setbacks to accomplish what you need to see.
  12. Yeah... we would be interested in where you found this 'demo' if not thru hash dot com...
  13. I am having trouble creating an account on the new A:M Films...it wont accept any name I put into it claiming that I am not using 'alpha numeric' digits when clearly I am. I'd like to start polluting it with my particular brand of stink.
  14. Client requested I send him via Windows media and I thought 'wonder if the forum can take wmv's now?'. AND- he approved the spot with NO changes... that's always encouraging.
  15. Great stuff Javier! Hey...how are you getting that nice rim-light on your characater as seen above in post #28?
  16. COOL! I just uploaded my 1st WMV to the forum! I haven't shown any work in a while so...here's a spot I just finished with A:M and After Effects. This spot uses particle grass with a force on it for a little blowing action, sprites for the grass seed, booleans for the characters eyes and mouth and a dynamic constraint in his head. I am awaiting my clients reaction.... hope the wmv works! LL.wmv
  17. Yeah! great image! Photorealism is like a carrot on a stick...the closer you get, the further you are.
  18. Great test! Only thing missing is the audio... 'the Simpsoooons...da--da-da-dada-da-da---dedadada-dat!'
  19. Wow. I gotta revisit that Matcap thread... GREAT looking model Serg...where have you been? That would have done well in our mascot contest!
  20. WELCOME! Xtaz is too modest...he forgot to mention that he is a master auto modeller and has some great tutorials on his site you will want to learn from: http://xtaz.com.br/index.php?option=com_co...3&Itemid=68
  21. That's one heck of a 1st posting to our forum! Can you elaborate on radiosity for us?
  22. "Ground Control to Major Tom..." Very cool! There seems to be a render glitch when the camera gets too close to a heavily displaced surface.
  23. Hey Dan- You've upgraded your PC- now you may need to upgrade your A:M...as the cloth feature has had a major overhaul since 2006. You may find that the character's kilt does not even need cloth- instead you can weight and smartskin it...maybe even add a dynamic constraint to give it bounce...but you should know that cloth is not an 'easy-breezy' feature to integrate (in any app) SO- if you REALLY need it...do yourself a BIG favor and use the latest V of the software, as many enhancements have been made not just to cloth- but to the overall program. GOOD LUCK! hey- I enjoyed your website!
  24. This is all PC right? Don't know if TSM2 works on the MacApple.
  25. Think how tall that number would be if many of us hadn't started piling our crap onto Youtube many years ago! TOP MARKS for the Camtasia screen-capture application... it is the real-deal.
