My friend wanted a new cowboys t-shirt, but he didn't want to pay a lot for it, so he asked me to model him something with Dallas Cowboy stuff on it. So he could take it to the mall and iron it on a t-shirt. Here is the final. [attachmentid=12502] Here is the test render to see what I had. I run a lip-sync music video class at my kids elementary school. I wanted to have an opener, or whatever you call them, like Disney's castle or Dream Works boy in the clouds. What is that short studio ID bit called anyway? The school is called Charles Dickens and our team mascot is the Dicken's Dragon, so I made our video logo with a fire breathing dragon. The compression makes it look a bit rough. Every year I create a new set of images of one of my nekosei girls to host my website. An image for the spash page, an image where just the girl is used as the background for the menu, and a special naughty image that is hidden somewhere in the site along with the complete menu image. This year I worked on getting these images made in Animation Master, and I feel they are finally finished. I am extremely pleased how these have turned out. Note: The taller images (which are the hidden ones) are shrunken in size by 50%. Gotta give you a reason to search the site how don't I? I also create a signature to use on the various forums I go to advertising…

EDIT: Disregard this post, I don't know what happened, but I was working on the torso with everything else hidden, got it the way I wanted it, then saved, then unhid, and somehow all the cp's on the face were in different locations, it didn't even look like a shape anymore, tried to revert, no dice, tried to undo, no dice, so now it is off to a new model. Here is a screenshot of the place in the Property panel where you can swap your model in the chor for another model. At the very lease, both models must have the same bones and bone naming convention. If the first model uses an animation rig, the replacement should have the same rig installed.[attachmentid=12459]

Ok taking another little break from my c-130 aircraft model, this time Im goofing with a water splash(no splash yet though) ...oh well , something like the topic title, attached are a couple short clips of theb Eddie model from the CD falling into what is suppose to be water, the motion and timing and just about every thing else is way, way off, all I was doing on this go round was working on the sprite air bubbles, and I slaped together a simcloth water surface, with sloppy settings, a lightgel on a light, and some sloppy eddie key framing of him flopping underwater.... Here's a little Christmas scene I've been working on in my spare time (when not working on TWO). Not quite finished and I don't think it'll get done before christmas but here's what I've got so far. I'm planning to use it for our christmas cards next year if I can ever finish it...I made the santa last year. The tree was probably the hardest part. Placing all those lights by hand sucked and I'm still not happy with the way they look. If anyone knows of a good way to make realistic looking christmas lights let me know. I haven't been splining for a while so last night I decided to get some practice in. My motherboard on my modelling PC went south but I was able to salvage my model files by slaving the harddrive to my internet PC. I have been wanting to make a virtual reef aquarium. I made this lionfish in a few hour's but still have some tweaking to do as well as decaling. I thought it looked pretty good so far so I decided to start this thread and get some feedback. Well, I actually started making this project with Truespace 6. I am still in the middle of it but Animation Master is easy to model with and I am not having problems with system crashes as I did with TS Nurbs. The spline base form of modeling seems to work much like I expected TS Nurbs should have worked. They are not the same but I think some of the approaches to this project I could apply in TS too. If I cannot figure out how to do something in TS I can quickly make it in A.M. and export it. So far though, I have been able to model the B-36 in A. M. without any system crashes distracting me from my task. Mainly because I think this application is so well though…

I am using volumetrics in my chor (dust, mist, steam) in A:M 12.0n. My dust volumetric is too small and no matter how I try to make it bigger to fit the scene....nada! Stays small. I tried to make my dust volumetric larger by scaling it and by fiddling with the falloff and width softness and more. My dust just wouldn't render any larger. I'm kinda stuck, so help would be GREATLY appreciated. Pleeeeeze.

Well, I had an idea while I was out supporting the tabaco industry at work today. It was to make a short film of models made up with primitive shapes. I don't know if 3d shapes are primitive, but that is what i am doing, basic shapes, and such. So far I have done...........Arnold Squarezeneger......... "Chronicles of Zion" - Just click on the quicktime or windows media version I think my 4Mbyte file was too big to upload here so I put the link to a website that has a quicktime and windows media versions. I want to post the whole 14 minute movie but it has a few hair issues (you can see the pixely hair on the blond character near the end of the trailer) and I'm not sure if I should submit it to A:M films. Maybe someone has an idea of how I can make the whole movie available? By the way, the movie is done but I am open to suggestions on making better animations, renders, etc. Enjoy! (Hopefully)

I have been messing around animating different stuff, trying to get a handle on timing so that I may complete ABC. I have problems with thinking something is to fast or to slow, and never really know which one it is untill I render it and it comes out like this. I was getting ready to model the hands on this character. I needed some extra desk space to write a note and I slipped the keyboard in between the monitor and the computer tower. It was a snug fit and some keys got rattled. Suddenly the model was all angles. I am suspecting that this is just a matter of how the screen renders, and that I have not changed the geometry of the model. Anyone out there have a suggestion on restoring it? Thanks...

The lenses are clear, but they do block a lot of light to his eyes. I tried bumping up the ambience on the eyeballs, but that has the effect of washing out his irises (simple color decals). Is there a way I can brighten up his eyes without washing out the pupils? I'd rather not use geometry for the irises unless I absolutely have to. Thanks! Nos

Hi larry - loved your character so much as shown in this thread http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&sh...ndpost&p=149036 (and I was coincidently working on animating a flame for myself) - so here is a test movie with project I decaled the yellow flame part with an animated sequence - used distortion box in an action to change shape over time, & I varied color over time, - one could also play with varying ambiance, transparency, roughness for sparks, etc - use a better flame sequence for the decals - etc, change glow parameters in chor. hope this helps some to get you going (if you haven't already) Fire.zip fire.mov

It has been a while since I posted anything so I have the engine I am working on. (Some day I will get back to working on the bar scene just not today) This is a sort of fantasy rocket engine that will have moving flashing lights inside of it (thus the clear sections) I am trying to figure out how to rig a big crysta to the top of it as well as more hoses and some structure, but for now here it is in its unfinished un textred glory.

I've discovered a strange thing when using 5X multi-pass rendering with skylights in v12.0n+. As shown in the attached image I have two spheres in front of a flat shaded skydome. The first sphere has a diffuse colour of 128, 128 128 while the second is 255, 255, 255. The first pair of images shows a comparison of lighting the spheres with a single klieg and rendering an image with and without multi pass. As expected, no noticeable difference. However in the next image set, I turn off the klieg and turn on my 52 bulb skylights (a variation on one of Yves' setups). The first image shows the render with no multi-pass. The next five images are images after turn…

I made this card just for the hell of it. I wanted to try some front projection so I grabbed an older character of mine and used a family friends' picture and added the "Christmas" part. The funny thing is they liked it so much they are going to send it as an E-card, haha. I blurred out their face because I didn't really think they'd want everyone seeing them. Thanks for looking. Since it is the season... I did this quick and dirty to replace a Festival Of Trees (FOT) graphic that turns out not to be as original as it was shopped to them. My mom wants a video for the big FOT get together with all of the other FOT folks around the country. Still need titles and may shorten, length it. This is a continuation of a topic started here: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18978 Below is an Image of my model to which I applied a bump decal with straight lines which render with jags. The decal is un-edited in the UV editor. No points were dragged or the model flattened. Any ideas on how to fix this? or a better approach to straight lines? Pixmite P.S. Vernon - I think you were right about the optical illusion. I rendered it from another couple of angles and it looked correct. I was late, what can I say.

When I bought AM and saw the cool Chewbacca model (great job whoever did that), it reminded me of something I've always wanted to see: Chewie playing some chess and ripping some poor sap's arms off. I know, not terribly original, but I still want to do it. So of course, my next step was to build an opponent. hey all im kind of puting my Jumpsuit dave project to the side until my writer/storyboard partner finishes on his end so im starting something new, and what could be easier to do than a movie with legos. started making chracters and bricks for peices made this test render shot to see how it would like as far as still maybe for a poster not sure yet. this guy is just generic guy i can make any decal i want on him and save him as a diffrent chracter (god i love legos!!) ill be working on this alot more since i dont have to wait for anyone to finish this tell me what you think so far.
