A:M Forum Rules
GENERAL FORUM GUIDELINES
The A:M Forum is for technical support and the sharing of tips and ideas between users/prospective users of Hash software. It is moderated constantly by technical support representatives.
DO'S!
-Ask questions about the software.
-Assist other users... everyone was new at this once.
-Inform people of your version/platform when asking for help.
-Share resources; tutorials, models, textures, tips and techniques (link to useful websites).
-Post links to your work, or where your art is being used online (on websites, in games, toons', etc.)
-Search the A:M Forum and FAQ. The question you are about to ask may have already been answered.
-Organize and inform others about user groups, IRC chats, image and animation contests, job opportunities, etc.
-Discuss what you are working on and let everyone know about magazine reviews and articles that relate to your projects.
DON'TS!
-Do Not be rude or disrespectful or mean to other forum members in any way. Personal attacks will be removed.
-Do Not post bug/crash reports to the list (send bug/crash reports to http://www.hash.com/reports.
-Do Not complain about forum content. Complaints or suggestions can be sent directly to hash@hash.com
-Do Not reprimand other forum members for violating forum rules, that's the moderators job, which (unless you are a moderator) you are not.
-No complaining or whining on the forum or distribution of misinformation.
-No flames of any kind.
-No Off Topic posts. (Posts in the Off Topics section should be related to A:M in some form or fashion or benefit the A:M community as a whole).
-No soliciting of any kind without prior approval.
-No threads or comparisons related to other 3D Applications.
-No "Wish list" or feature requests, they should be sent to www.hash.com/reports for categorizing and prioritization (User requests define the future development of the software).
-No "me too!" posts
-No discussion of Hash Internal Affairs (finances, advertising, PR.)
-No posting of private email to the forum unless permission of the author is granted. (Private correspondence should remain private)
-No very general questions like: "how do I make a good 3D model" make your questions as complete and concise as possible.
If you have questions as to whether it's appropriate, send it to: support@hash.com, We'll be happy to let you know whether it is, or is not appropriate.
User Led Forum Considerations
Firstly and foremostly, please remember this is Martin Hash's forum and that it is every A:M User's primary resource for information about A:M. In order to remain relevant we need everyone's continuing support and interest.
Secondly, understand there is a distinction between A:M (the program) and the A:M forum. There are some topics and issues that are outside the scope of this forum and most can be deduced by reading through the forum guidelines. These include such things as Hash Inc internal policies, business practices, trade secrets, and specific plans for the future not yet publicly released. Each of these would be fascinating topics of their own but are better reserved for private communications with a representative of Hash Inc.
Related to the second, is purchasing, customer service and other areas outside the purview of the common user who may have no interest in such things; subjects relating to money exchanging hands are beyond the scope of the A:M Forum and often can lead to conflicts of interest between users and/or Hash Inc. (If Hash Inc cuts you a deal on volume purchasing it's really no one else's business). Likewise, individual complaints about a product or service are best remedied by going direct with Hash Inc representatives empowered to make decisions. Please allow them them the time necessary to resolve your specific issue and consider the cost of customized solutions.
This last area is likely the source of much confusion because many see the A:M Forum as the official outlet for Hash Inc... and it is. But the forum is not designed for conducting business and private matters best resolved by going to Hash Inc directly. Similarly, bug reports are best resolved by entering them directly into the A:M Reporting system.
Many problems can be easily addressed at the user level just by asking fellow users in the forum. If someone at Hash Inc suggests the forum as a source, it is very likely a problem can be easily resolved. For tougher issues there is even more reason to take the issue directly to the source... you don't want the issue discussed... you want it resolved quickly.
Finally, remember that we want to pass this forum on to future moderators and generations of A:M Users in the absolute best condition possible. A:M is just that good a program and is worthy of our consideration.
Thanks for making the A:M Forum a great community.

I might be a bit absent minded, but I forgot how to obtain fonts scripture into Animation Master. I know there is a restriction for only Ariel fonts, but for now I can't find a way to reach a way to access fonts when I'm in AM. For the good of all I would reconstruct scripture fonts myself, but I know there was a way. At least I did in the past. Thank you.

Anyway it's been a very long time since I've used A:M but it's almost all coming back. One thing I can't remember or find or maybe it no longer exists was the hotkey to change the "levels" of smooth rendering in shaded view while modeling. I thought it involved "[]". I recall there were like 4 or 5 levels of smoothness? You could lower it to work faster and raise it up quickly to get a better view.

I selected the hand bone and used the Ctrl Scale icon (top toolbar) to scale the hand and all its children finger bones. That worked but then all dem finger bonz disappeared from the pose window even tho they're turned on in the model view. Then I saw that there was a "Hidden" channel added to ALL those frickin' finger bonz in the relationship window. I had to delete that Hidden channel from all the finger bonz one at a time to make them reappear. So, my question is: Did I cause that to happen using the Ctrl-scale function? and is there a way to turn them all off easily?

I have abused this forum because I was more concerned about my own needs. There was a lyric that we could all join together as a team, but still just a lyric I have posted thinking wow this could be big and I put a lot of effort into it and here goes... Could have been my 82 Dad typing while I sleeptalk, or I could have sleeptyped or please... It happens. Main thing is I push through the crap. ... How much crap is there? We can help! Hello there, I have recently started diving into 3D animation using Hash Animation, and I am looking to optimize my workflow to make the most out of the software. As a newcomer to the 3D animation world; I am excited to learn from those with more experience and refine my approach to ensure efficiency and creativity. Currently; I am working on a short animation project that involves character modeling; rigging; and scene composition. I find rigging quite complex; and sometimes my rigs don't behave as expected during animation. What are some best practices for creating stable and flexible rigs? Are there specific tutorials or resources that you recommend for …

When viewing the material in it's viewer I crank the setting from zero to 100 - no difference. Hi, I'm interested in getting into Animation Master, I have very little experience with modelling software (only Sketchup) but would like to use Animation Master for some top down game dev. I'm working on a top down game with pre rendered graphics, but so far I've only used pre made sprites, which I want to replace with my own. I'm working on a MacBook though and was wondering if this OS is still supported? And maybe there are some people who can give me some tips at the same time on how to start. That'd actually be great. So far what I've seen the software looks intuitive, which is actually what I'm looking for.

Hello everyone What is the one best method of texturing models in AM? I know there's Decals and Stamps, and I've seen the various videos on this topic @zandoriastudiosvideo on YouTube was a big help Although it seems the process might be a little too involved? Or has it changed in recent versions of AM? Is there a video tutorial that explains the process of taking a model to texturing and decaling and baking for export? Thanks!

Hello! Thanks to Jason Simonds, I got the free trial version to open and work, but not until after my Power Supply Unit croaked, which I had to replace today. Anyway, I'm going through the tutorials, and they show an option to save the animation in AVI format. The free version I have (v 19.0) does not show that, only .tga format. Is this something that only comes with a paid version? I'm happy to report that my wimpy Dell Optiplex 990 SFF running Windows 10 with a 240 power supply, intel factory integrated graphics card, icore 5 and 16GB RAM.. seems to be able to render a short animation just fine, so far. That's why I wanted to try the free version first…

Help! I was approved for the 14 day free trial. I had to go out of town the next day so I waited til I got back 6 days later to download the 64 bit version (Windows 10). I clicked on the file link again but it tells me I’ve already downloaded it or are not approved. Have tried all the free video players I could find online and still can't find one that plays in "real time", but then used AMs ablility to read in sequences of numbered images and when you open the loaded image/sequence and hit the play button it plays great the first time but then will only play in hyper speed but it's still better than the results of all those players I tried before. I've had terrible luck trying to get all those free video players to read in image sequences as a single clip (even with a toggle button "read in as single clip" is activated) I know that the speed of your computer is most important but then why do all the Youtube videos play smo…

Thought I could just make an action with the character applauding and add it to him during a chor but no. Even tho the ONLY things moving in the action I made is his arms when I add it to him in the chor. he gets all "whacked out" - jumps to a different position and every joint in his body is twisted horribly. Also, how do you copy a figure's pose at a given frame? Have tried Copy Keyframe/Paste Keyframe - no effect!!!! Shouldn't this be a simple thing to do?? Any help appreciated.

I have tried many video players from the internet and even found that AM when importing jpgs animation can play clips by opening the image and hitting the "play" button in the playback bar at the bottom. (something that would have been handy to know yrs. ago.) But it plays slowly first time and then at hyper speed or unpredictable speed after 1st time. And the windows playback is just as unpredictable. My question is-Anyone know of a good player? Need'nt point out how much an animator needs to see stuff play in real (correct) time. Been using AM for more than just a few yrs. and still having trouble understanding action blending. Does the blending function mean how it blends with previous or next actions? I understand the transition to next action when you have a gap from one to another but doesn't have anything to do with the blending directly, right? Been trying to match the end of a saved action with a chor. action (just one lousy arm) and thought that just entering the rotation numbers from the position in the chor. into the last keyframe of the saved action would work but just whacked everything out. Been trying to duplicate the problem in a smaller chor. file but can't even get that …
