agep
Hi Guys I felt like taking a small brake from the Cathedral project, so last night I started on another project I've wanted to do for a long time. Thomas the Tank Engine Anyway, almost done with the model, just some minor details missing and some tweaking on his face left to do (to get rid of his "crazy" look). Let me know what you think so far. I might have bigger plans for this guy, not sure when I'm able to realize them though. I'll upload a better render of him tomorrow Best regards Stian *edit* image updated

KenH
Ah, he would be perfect for controlling in HAMR. I can dream right. My nephew is mad about Thomas, so I'll be showing him this. Looks just like him. Nice job.
Zaryin
Wow, that's looks great. Although the crazy look reminds me of the crazy monorail in Stephen King's Gunslinger series -- which I like .

*A:M User* Shelton Posted July 23, 2009 *A:M User* Share Posted July 23, 2009 Very nice Stian. This is one that I would like to do as I feel in love with the Thomas world when my 6 year old son did. We had a wonderful time living on the island of Sodor. Steve

agep
Thanks Paul. Yeah, I'll probably respline parts of his face. I rushed it together before I went to bed last night
Tralfaz
WOW! That's just crazy! My son had all those characters when he was younger and would watch the show all the time. Ahem, being a dutiful dad, I would watch the shows with him. Personally, I liked Ringo narrating better then George Carlin. Al

mtpeak2
Looks good Stian. Is that a render artifact on his cheek or is that spot suppose to be there?
agep
Thanks:) Is that a render artifact on his cheek or is that spot suppose to be there? Its an artifact (hook)
mtpeak2
Sometimes, if you flip the normals back and forth all around the hook area, it will fix itself, not all the time though.
agep
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it didn't work here. I also tried to detach and attach the hook several times
agep
btw, I'm doing an hires render (1920x1200) where the artifact does not show

pixelplucker
Very nice work. I had some artifacts showing, sometimes long edges will do that but if softening pass is on they usually disapear. Also when making groups the faces seem to flip, kind of wish there was a unify normals command somewheres.
