  1. What's the difference between the Posable Squetch Rig and the regular one?
  2. I'm pretty sure Ken is right on the money with this one. If there is a great divergence is the shading of your displacement map at the UV line you will get that tearing. I had that problem with my alien bust, but I had 3D Painter to help repair those areas. To get it to work with just PS or the like you will have to make that texture seamless.
  3. I love to see you modeling John. Make sure to look at alot of the free models on the Extra DVD to get a good spline layout.
  4. Yeah, that's looking pretty good so far .
  5. He's looking great Dhar! I also noticed what looked like creasing under the nose by that 5 point patch, but I might be wrong.
  6. Thanks for the comments guys. I appreciate it. Really? I didn't know that. I'm still debating if I want to put those side muscles in the abdomen still (over the rib cage), or maybe add them with displacement. Or maybe not add them at all. *shrugs*
  7. Looks great so far, although the lighting could use some work. Right now the creature is kind of blending in with the background.
  8. Beautiful! Man, you have got to post some of those maps just so we can take a look at them. Excellent!
  9. Well I said I would do it and here is my progress so far. I was just trying to make a new male body with better muscle definition and decided to make a new Spider-man. I don't know when I'll get to the webbing and finish him since I'm working on TWO, but I thought I'd post this anyway. Rendered in three seperate passes (AO, Color, Spec), and assembled in Photoshop. Thanks for looking.
  10. It's like discovering a new continent, haha! I know alot of people could use this for differing hairstyles and what not. Great find!
  11. Although I would have liked to put free since I have no money to spend on anything, I said 40$. For a very in-depth tutorial on this subject -- including texturing and lighting -- it is well worth 40$.
  12. I'll be honest. I find the ears the hardest thing to do. I like yours, and they look way better attached than not .
  13. Yes, making alien heads is fun . This one is looking good. Let's see some texture!
  14. Haha, looking good! Nancy: I have a feeling his earlier alien character will be getting involved with this guy .
  15. v3 is perfect! I would attach ther ears as others have suggested .
  16. Here's the JD model that Mark rigged a while ago for the Extra DVD. I'm fairly certain that the rig is way out of date now, but it might help you out. Also there are no FACE poses for this model, just the rig. v13_JD_08_08_2006_Installed.zip
  17. Yeah, I guess I'm going to post what I always post when you post a post of a model and that is -- "Awesome!" One of these days I'm just going to screw with everyone and make a kickin' mechanical model .
  18. Nice job there. Did you make your own brush or is that included in Pixosaur?
  19. Did you do that in A:M Paint ie: Pixosaur?
  20. Nice! Is it possible to post a short clip? Or are you waitng for a finished animation.
  21. That character is just sick, in a good way -- and a bad, haha .
  22. Haha, you typical -- and not so typical -- looking alien. Nice! I do think those shoulders need some work, however.
  23. Man, this 70% humidity is a killer! Stop painting in this crap, John! What with the hitch in the animation? Is that the path or something else?
