Fun! That's how a robot makes his way home from the bar after too many 10W-40-tini's!
-
Fart humour is timeless! I'm glad you showed it... now that it's been done, hopefully it does not get overdone. OR-maybe that would be a good thing...

Compelling!

Looks like my kinda place! The kinda place where you wipe your feet on the way OUT...

Hello Meow- I just did a smoke animation where I got the sprite to fade in and out really nicely... you need to keyframe the 'over time' parameter. (See image) AND- Quicktimes can be wonky... use a sequence like jpg or tga or png... tga is prolly the best.
-
Yup...looking great! Are you a smoker? They outlawed smoking in public places here in Michigan... which is causing a lot of bars to 'go under'... our Governer is on a ROLL!

Answer to Q 3... Distortion Mode! Distortion Mode is one of the cooler and more powerful of the newer A:M features! Select the CP's in question, go in to Distortion Mode and experiment. There are ways to customize the DM grid under 'Tools, Options (Cntrl-P) Modeling Tab, Distortion Grid Resolution. I would suggest entering values of 2,2 and 2 to go about what you are asking about... and then it's just a matter of selecting and moving the appropriate Distortion handles.

GREAT STUFF!

Awesome! I read in his bio that he learned to draw at an early age by looking at an image of Donald Duck at the newsstand, running home to draw it... running back to see a detail he missed... running home again and again.

Fan bones not working in action or choreography
John Bigboote replied to Sollywood's topic in New Users
Great. Keep hitting us with your Q's and welcome, Solly! -
I love this little app called DVD Flick: http://www.dvdflick.net/ I am looking right now to see if it does what you need... 24p authoring.

Fan bones not working in action or choreography
John Bigboote replied to Sollywood's topic in New Users
Typically... you would set constraints to make the fan bones... 'fan', and you would make those constraints in a POSE. You need to remember to turn that pose ON in the choreography. -
I'm attaching a test I did several years ago where I 'think' I did what you are asking about. This was a test to see what a still photo would look like (previs) if they 'relief-printed' it onto a piece of custom molded plexiglass... I simply made a mesh in A:M... applied the image(with alpha mattes)... and adjusted the CP's in depth... adjusted the bias-handles... and rendered. Ronald_McDonald_Test_small.mov

Recent TV spot done in A:M
John Bigboote replied to John Bigboote's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Yes, the girl was wonderful. She is the daughter of the man who is speaking, he is a store manager/spokesman, and she has had the 'Tireman' character around her -her whole life... so she knows him as well as anyone and was directed to 'see an invisible Tireman and say hello to him'. -
Looking Great, Largento. Another idea... digital coloring book... Flash programmed...

d78c5e599c2a9c9d0bbd Man, I think I am guilty of NOT using AMFilms the way I should be... I just gave it another look, and it is pretty sweet. This is a test to see if the video shows here in the forum. Any A:M users in the Detroit/Lower Michigan area who are sports fans (Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons) have seen this spot to DEATH... it airs SO frequently. This is MY version of it... before the editors and sound effects guys did their work on it. I had 3 days to do this :30... a :15 and :10 versions as well. I was not present on the shoot, and the little girl did a wonderful job of 'dictating' where the Tireman character should be. There was lots of challenges with interacting foreground elements and lighting/reflections etc. A:M is perfect for this kind of work! Here is the Permalink: http://amfilms.hash.com/video/203/Belle-Tire-TV-commercial Hmmm... I see A:MFilms makes it's own forum posting... didn't know...sorry.

Awesome! The black background does not do too much for it... but it looks great in 1080p! Now THERE is a Youtube channel to subscribe to! I wish Youtube had a 'loop' feature...

Robcat wants to edit this project... not composite everyone's she-bang. If an individual wants to render to targas, and then composite their own scene... render it out and send a jpeg sequence to Robcat... jpegs are FINE... I use them in a professional post-production environment every day, you can set the amount of compression and at 10 or 12 they are near lossless. I asked for Quicktimes for the Pass the Ball movie... nobody ever asked why. Rob- should you need any help in post on this... I volunteer. I hope to enter a clip as well.

Notepad Space travel

Had a sort of Napolean Dynamite feel to it... what software do you animate in? -
864 X 486 720 X 405 854 X 480 All are basically the same, and render times/resolutions should not vary greatly. I'd pick one and update it in the giveaway project sooner than later... before too many people DL
-
If the 2 min clip was working fine... use it. A:M does not seem to 'choke' on long audio files...
-
Thought about it... it's 3X the render time and HD Youtubes take a long time to buffer. Maybe going up to 480p (854x480) could be optional. We can think about it. We did 'Pass the Ball II' at a resolution of 864 X 486 square-pixel. It is a 'poor-mans' HD format that I use all the time with GREAT results, and minimal render times comparable to D1 720 X 486. (Take a look at PTB2 to see if it will fit your needs... the link is in my signature) Youtube just looks for anything that fits the HD16X9 aspect ratio. I've got my idea...

Great additions to any collection David. I see you are a big user of porceline... do you notice an improvement with it? Does it still work in V15?
-
LOVE IT! I say it's still early, it should be discussed... but THIS looks more like where a bus stop would be... and it matches the vision I had in my head to a TEE! Great work!

My first and last roll of Kodachrome
John Bigboote replied to photoman's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
HA! I used to run a big stat camera in the 80's too! I loved coming home reeking of chemicals... we dumped our used fixer/developer right down the drain-made me SICK... what were you recovering... silver? I don't miss it one bit.
