Introductory pricing for 48 hours... $39 vs $60. Aaron continues to put together some of the most direct, accessible and... reasonably priced material on drawing and animation available. This time he tackles human anatomy. https://creatureartteacher.com/product/drawing-human-anatomy/ Here's the promo video: xhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOcrsSbYteA The primary reason I think Aaron's approach is superior to many available is his experience with a variety of art mediums but specifically his foundation in animation which brings it all together. Description of content from his site: In this comprehensive 9.5 Hour video course, animator, dir…

Aaron Blaise is another Disney artist/animator who has resources available online. He considers himself primarily a painter and from what I have seen has some great insight into how the real world informs art (and vice versa). Aaron is perhaps best known for his work in 'Beauty and the Beast' (Mulan, Brother Bear, etc. ) and for some nice behind the scenes insight into his work there see Art Tip#4 on thumbnailing. There are also at least four books/tutorials on drawing and animation (average price around $15 each) available online at his website: http://creatureartteacher.com/ These include: - How to animate a four legged walk cycle - How to animate a t…

After several failures to get access to clipshare I tried to recover my password. I'm not a great fan of it, as I can't remember I lost it, but my old one gets bucked. I keep asking for a recovery but it seems as if the email never comes through. Also I see all movies comments of cynthia..,(?) Is that the one who framed my email?

Hi! I tried an action with my overly complex character models last night and the action worked differently in the chor. The Torso control bone key frame gets dropped. There are no key frames on this bone in the chor. Can you think of anything I'm missing or anything I can check? Thanks, Rusty PS: Note the head is attached in the chor.

Hey AnimationMaster.., I bought a new computer and thought: let I install my AM.V16 on it. So said so done, but when I want to activate it, it says the account is already used. And that is logical, as it was used on the older computer. How do I solve this case? 🤔

Due to a computer crash I'm forced to install Am on another computer. When I want to start the programm it asks for an activation code. Then it says the code is already used. It is a lifelong version with an internet activation. Now I have it installed, but what file should I send to activate the code? regards, Rien.

It should be, however- compatible with A:M as a 3rd party still-renderer for anyone that wants to see what rendering with Vray looks and feels like...(via obj file format) …

This may be of interest to those who need more realistic characters... of a variety of body types. It was previously reported that Adobe had acquired Maximo and the latest news shows plans moving ahead to provide Fuse software with Adobe CC. Fuse is a bipedal set of tools used with Maximo (and other software) used to create characters. It's similar in many ways to MakeHuman and other software. For geometry the characters can be exported as OBJ. For animation the preferred format is FBX. In something that reminds me much of Hash Inc's earlier ground work with segmented models, the highlights of Fuse are the quick modification of modular characters (those …

Yep... time again to cover some Adobe news that intersects with our interests... Abobe has released the preview of Fuse which we've seen before under a different name. As part of Adobe CC, if you subscribe to that you get Fuse thrown in to the mix. What is Fuse? Fuse is a bipedal (human) mesh generator that has many custom sliders that allow for modification of the mesh. It's primary purposes is to send the mesh off to Mixamo or to Photoshop CC where it can be articulated/animated. Fuse does also allow export to .OBJ format which is useful for A:M Users. While the mesh is dense for the humans the acouterments/clothing are reasonable. Perhaps best ye…

I don't have any references to site or links to post but I'm hearing rumors that Apple Adobe is planning to release Pro Res resources to counter the issue arising from abandoning older Quicktime support on Windows. Of note: Several of the ProRes codecs support alpha channes although other do not. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202410 If anyone has info related to this please feel free to post and point us to more official info. Edit: Some of my info was incorrect. It is Adobe that is planning to bring Apple's Pro Res formats forward for use in Windows to address the issues caused by Apple no longer supporting Quicktime. http://premiereclip.adobe.com/videos/GwoAtou7EY5 I have no other information on this but realtime facial motion capture is always going to be a useful thing. I suppose the real trick would be to export the captured data for usage elsewhere (such as in A:M). For those of you that use Adobe CC, they are accepting signup for beta testing. DIsclaimer: The video was taken by an audience member so the audio is pretty rough. Here's a bit more from their site: This relates to something I was trying to set up in A:M a few years ago. Not facial capture from a webcam... that is way beyond me... but driving bones/motion via Group Names, which is something A:M…

I missed this news back in January... Algorithmic, the company behind Substance Painter and other related tools has apparently been purchased by Adobe. https://www.fxguide.com/quicktakes/adobe-acquires-allegorithmic-substance-joins-creative-cloud/ I'm occasionally thought it'd be nice to have Substance Painter but wasn't interested in the price of admission. Gaining these tools via the Adobe CC subscription that I already have though... hmmmm. Adobe has been trying to move further into the 3D realm and it looks like they are doing just that with this purchase. Related to A:M, the ability to paint even OBJ files wi…

Last year several of us embarked on learning C++ using a free Udemy course. We made some progress but got sidetracked about half way through so we're going to start from Square One again. If you are interested in C++, the language A:M and A:M plugins are written in, here's your chance to get in on the ground floor. The course advances in very small increments, it should be more than accessible to anyone who uses A:M. I made it all the way through to the end of the curriculum and got all the projects to work, so i can probably answer any question that comes up in the course of this course. PM me if you are interested!

I'm getting intrigued on the way to use alpha channels on models to obtain partial transparance. On the Extra-DVD there is a tutorial about it and while I'm following the example my results fail. Point is that I can't save a *.TGA file with an alpha channel. I'm using Photoshop 7.0 and when it transports the file, I can only use *.TIF and *.PSD to implement the alpha channel. Using *.TGA saves the file, but AM0.16 doesn't show it as an alpha channel. Afterwards this "*.TGA" file doesn't have the alfa channel when I import it back to Photoshop. I tried another graphic program CorelPainterIX, but there also I wasn't able to export a *.TGA file with a…

I was having a couple of problems. Updating to V19.0o solved one but not the other. The one that I'm left with is this: It used to be that when I rendered out to a PNG, the background would be black during the rendering, but the object would render with out a background. When used as a decal, only the object would apply. All of a sudden, a PNG now renders with a separate "photo" labeled the same with a "-Alpha Channel" added to the name. As far as I know there are four places where you can turn on or off "Save with unpremultiplied alpha channel". 1. the Rendering tab in the 'Tools' menu, 2. in the 'output options' of the camera object property menu, 3. the …

Hi All, I'm new to Animation Master (I just started using it today), and I'm encountering a problem when I try to add a dope sheet. I can type a sentence, but when I OK that Animation Master crashes out. I've tried different sentences, and different sound files. I'm not sure if this is related, but when I scrub through any sound file on the timeline, I don't hear anything. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to hear something, but the tutorial seems to indicate I should hear the sound. A I doing something wrong? Do I need to configure something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've been using AM for theatre productions here are some screen shots the backgrounds image are all AM (in-fact all the art work was done in AM) and the actors work with the AM characters on screen you can see the inter action by going down to the itty bitty plant song Childrens books made easy interative ibooks and audio books for children The only downside to the production was the front projection so creative lighting was called for that being said (: bottom line aM awesome!

Wondering if anyone has tried Marmoset Toolbag 3? Was thinking it could be a good real time render and viewer since they seem to have a player for ios, android and win. www.marmoset.co/toolbag/ I do quite a bit of t-shirt art for my customers, have some stock models I made in AM way back but it is a pain to render them out and email. In some cases sending pdf mockups isn't always practical especially if the pdf is large. Having a good webgl viewer might be a good secure answer. Also be cool if possible to have articulated models the clients can move around on their phones!

This question came up in Live Answer Time today and I thought I would post the official word from Hash (link is to store page): Can A:M use multiple cores? A:M is currently not fully multi-core-optimized. However A:M is able through Netrender (included for free in v16.0 and up) to use multiple cores for rendering. OpenMP is used to utilize multiple cores for several operations. More operations are altered to use multiple cores in each update. Since A:M is a rendering application, it is recommended to use a CPU as fast as possible to decrease rendering time. So if you have an 8 core system, base AM may not make full use of all 8 cores however …

Hi all, FYI finally got some time to get back onto setting up AM after going through a learning curve to install Windows 7 on the old Mac Pro 2008 3,1 - finally did this, installed and new subscription and am happy to report, AM now works Flawlessly ! The old mac with a quadro fx 4800 card is no slouch and makes a damn good PC with the dual xeon processors and heaps of ram, now I am super happy and can get on with work, and possibly even get a new mac and have a great PC to run AM on it stable which happens to also be a mac he he, I have tested both ATI and Nvidia cards and they both work fine with no texture or rotoscope glitches at all. Exxxceellleent !

I don't know enough to suggest how useful this may be to those who are interested in the gaming aspect of 3D but it's newsworthy so... In short, Amazon has recently released their Lumberyard gaming engine for free. It's based on Cryengine (and will diverge further as times goes on But let's let others more knowledgeable delve into the details: https://www.fxguide.com/quicktakes/lumberyard-free-is-the-new-black/ I saw that the FBX plugin is expected to be updated in short order and that may provide a path for A:M Users to move assets toward Lumberyard, moreso than what is currently available. If you are into game development it should be of interest if for no other re…

This might be a question for JohnL3d... I may have a use for a 'sound triggered' action... and remembered that A:M V18 has a new feature called 'Amplitude'. IS THERE any instructions on enacting this new technology? Hi, I am an old user (still using v10) and is looking at the current version for a possible upgrade. But the subscription method is making my head spinning. (May be I'm really too old ) If I purchase a subscription, will the software stop working after one year? Or can I still work with it but with no access to updates only? Also I read somewhere that A:M now supports STL export with improvement in subdivision of patches, but cannot find information on Hash's site or the forum here. I'm using A:M to build real physical models with 3D printer so that could be the one feature that makes v18 a must have for me. Another issue is using Win XP with v18. Seems tha…

Hmmm... looks intriguing. As it is already funded and still has 18 days to go... I might have to bite at this one. Hello all, I'm looking at getting a new keyboard, and I've narrowed it down to 2 similar models, one with numerical keypad and one without. I don't do a lot of number-crunching/spreadsheet stuff, but I've noticed when I do it is nice to have the numerical keypad. I don't recall using it much with AM, but before I lock in my decision I want to make sure I'm not missing anything with regard to some super-productive modeling method (or other feature) that relies on the numerical keypad. What is your opinion? Do you use the numerical keypad much with AM? Thanks in advance, Roger
