Here are some models that could be used if anyone wants them. Of course, if you know how to use them already, I don't care. I think I'll repeat myself if I type anymore explanation. Let me know if you want to see anything else. I do have a couple blown hard drives or maybe like 5 that need restored to get files, and I have some on flash drives but I will dig through that when I get a chance. Right now I just want to find a safe way to put things on the website that you may or may not want to originate from here. And then I'll say here's how to hack the site (password) and just put the Android related stuff there, originally just to have an Android project to…

This will be of very little actual use, a simple decal will almost always be easier, but just to see if I could do it... a shamrock made entirely as a procedural material: Shamrock05.prj

Coming soon to A:M Exchange are the following models/project files: Ayumi Corridor Both are randomly selected from the Extras DVD and will be well worth investigating because of their construction, detail and versatility.

I'm looking at several approaches to updating A:M Exchange. This incorporates the 'Extras'. A focus of my current investigation is the PDF format as they are included in those resources. PDFs mostly comprise tutorials and manuals and documents but it was once hoped they could serve a better purpose. One area explored in the past was that of embedding 3D models into a PDF where the user can quickly get a look at what the asset looks like before use. This is not an optimal use as there is no direct correlation between A:M's model format and that used in Adobe Acrobat. The full fledged Acrobat of a few years ago stated that formats such as OBJ and STL were suppo…

In this thread I will be giving some of my models away. It should be noted that I am not an animator. Most of my models are made for one image and one image only. You will find that some of these models will only look good from certain angles. They are not all finished, and most will not have a rig in place. Some images and models may be missing because of copyright issues, or I just don't feel comfortable with there inclusion. I will try to include the entire final project file that led to the making of the final image that the models are associated with. This may not be possible for all models. I also don't know if I have the rights to post certain mode…

I didn't know you could see the content of the Extras CD online. This should be linked to in the online store if it isn't already. http://www.hash.com/amtutes/X_Vol001/Menu/

Can anyone create a Werewolf model for me? I've tried to make one, but I just can't get the modeling thing down. I can probably handle rigging it. (Done the tutorials, it's not as scary as it looks) I know Werewolves don't actually exist, but I would like it to look realistic. I'll upload pictures later today... Kinda late and too tired to draw.

Hi! I'm in the process of preparing for my first (hopfully paid!) commission and of course - as it is with such first-time commissions - money is tight with my client and time is scarce with me. Since I need to do the animation and several technical models already, I was hoping to find a reasonably well done, free (or at least cheap) male character model to use. I'm not at liberty to discuss the specifics yet - it is a "product presentation" for an upcoming product is all I can say right now. This model doesn't need to have a facial rig (even the face is optional and can be very generic) but the body should be realistic human shape with - preferably - some sportswear…

Animators Bill Plympton and Patrick Smith have a joint blog where the discuss animation issues. Recently Smith posted about the Rule of Thirds and showed some sample images of it at work in movies. Here's a Rule-of-Thirds grid you can use in A:M rule_of_thirds_grid.zip Import it to your Images Folder, then drag it into your camera view. Select "Rotoscope" on the menu that comes up and then it will automatically size itself. Compose your scenes with the white lines as a guide and then turn the rotoscope off before you render.

Here's one for the SERIOUS devotee of the hash-forum...no, it isn't a model. It's a 'Firefox Persona'...a way of 'skinning' your Firefox browser. Get it HERE: http://www.getpersonas.com/persona/13425

Rodney or who ever else can answer. I was wondering if "Images forum” is for decal's and material or is it for another purpose? If not Can you make one since it would be useful. Since I may have some decal's and material to add.

Thanks for your contribution to A:M Exchange. Where possible please include an image and a description of your contribution to help others locate your resource. Tell us a little bit about your project. Stories about the history of the object and documentary 'Making of...' are fun too! If you need assistance with preparing, organizing and uploading your files don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!

Anyone have anything they want modeled let me know. Still refining my splining skills and the practice is always nice. My time will be limited soon because I have some beta work coming up and that should consume much of my free time.

If we use Darktree shaders can we distribute them here along with a model? As of now everything I posted here is stuff I made from scratch so it's royalty clean. Not sure if anyone knows this. I downloaded the latest pack from: http://www.darksim.com/index.html If I get some spare $$$ I'll most likely purchase the program to generate my own.

This might help keep things organized. Not sure if it would really work or not. If there were separate sub-forums here named "Free Materials", "Free Models", and "Free Projects", I think in the future as new things get added, it might be easier to peruse and find things.

Hi! Glenn Anthofer has asked me to post a new AM utility that he has developed -- he’s preparing for a work related move to Germany and he is very busy right now. In fact he has been very busy for the last couple of months but, despite this, five weeks ago when I posted “Programmers: I need a program written”, Glenn Anthofer not only answered but came through big time! Together we hashed out the program specs then Glenn started writing code and I started testing. Library Manager V0.36 is a Beta Release and offered as ‘use at your own risk’. Please read all documentation before attempting to use. The program creates an AM library file by searching …

Hi all I have a simple (to some maybe even stupid) question: Can anyone tell me what the situation is with the "free" models both in the A.M CD as well as the ones on the website. can one use them for commercial use?? Im making a music video and want to use some of the props and things.... can I run into royalty issues? I have made original characters for the video but dont really have the time to make all of the props and backgrounds and things. any suggestions as to what I could do otherwise?? Leo
