  4. Thank you everyone, This is a great starting point. I have been reading about Neuon Dynamics for the last day and found a lot of very cool examples, tutorials and forum contributions ! I will definitely share what I have accomplished ... David
  5. I am doing a project where I am going to have the letters of a word fall out of a hat. I need each letter to react to each other, bounce on the ground and then form a word. I would like to know what would be the best way to approach this effect ? I take it that I would need each letter to be collidable and have mass but I have never explored AM Physics before except to animate a flag. Is there a tutorial that would be a good one to work through ? Pinballwzd...
  6. Hello, Thank you for your ideas.. Turned out it was my antivirus , Avast. When I disabled it, the connection/registration worked. Cheers,
  7. Hey, I had to uninstall Animation Master on my Windows 7 64 bit PC. I went through the normal windows uninstaller and then downloaded the 64 bit web subscription version of AM to reinstall. I went through the re-install with no problems but when I went to register using my same registration # I got the following error. "Bad return data from webserver (no status) (-134) "No such file or directory (error:2)" Can anyone lead me in the right direction to what this means and what I can do to get my version registered ? I know my Registration # is valid as it worked for my initial install on the same PC. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum section and or if somewhere it has been answered before. I can supply whatever information you require... This is what the master file had to say... 8. Since I see nowhere in your description where you say you've created a material I must assume you are not using SimCloth but are instead using the earlier version of Cloth that utilizes spring systems. We can troubleshoot the old Cloth but it might be better to tackle Simcloth. Download the zipfile at this link and you'll be on your way to SimCloth. Hello, Sorry about that. I was viewing the EX18flag tutorial which uses the earlier version of Cloth. I see in the video that the fellow was using 2003 AM. As I am using the newest version of AM, which must be where the problem lies. I will download thie zip file and go from there. Thank you,
  9. Hello, I am getting very frustrated trying to figure out how to get a flag animated using SimCloth. I believe I have followed all the steps correctly but my flag keeps flying away. I tried this on my own model as well as the model in the tutorial. This is what I have done ( hope you can follow ) I created a Flag and Pole model. Created a group for attached and another for the flag. Created a bone for the mast and applied all CP to the bone. Set attached to on for the attached group ( both in Model mode and Choreography mode ) Created the Force and Turbulence as outlined in the Tutorial. Created the Spring System by selecting the flag group in muscle mode and clicking cloth wizard. Click on Spring System and simulating. Each time, the flag blows away. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
  10. Do you have any recommendations to online tutorials on the above subjects ? Individuals or websites that are worth exploring ? Thanks!
  11. Thanks everyone.. I have lots of fun making this one and although the learning curve was steep, I am ready to keep on learning. After seeing a lot of the work posted here on the AM forums, I am quite motivated to keep on going. To give you a bit of history, I have been working for quite some time with vector graphics, re-drawing graphic artwork for pinball machines using photoshop and illustrator. I have always enjoyed animation but my favorate style would have to be stop motion animation from the 60-70's. I decided to take a night school class on animation/3d modeling and do not regret a minute of it. My instructor was great and I learned a lot. I plan on taking a Maya class next. I would like to re-model my alien character, improving on the mesh, texturing and weighting. I like the design but it could be so much better and with time, it will. To follow up, I would like to continue with the adventures of Sam and Bob. The characters are rich with personality and contrasting elements. I could do a lot with them. I plan on a series of animations telling stories of their vacations together. Possibly the next one being them visiting a Pyramid in Egypt. I totally agree with your comments Rodney and do appreciate them. I never thought of that the credits as "tipping my hat", as it were. David...
