Interesting. Those black lines around the chest emblem and cape--are they decals, or splines rendered as lines? They can't be regular toon lines... can they?

(And what does the 'W' stand for?)

Hey LuckBat, the lines are a mix of toon lines and groups with a black color.

Rodney, thanks for checking it! The world does need more toon heroes!

Pixelmech, thanks for the repy. Once I get some legs on em, I'll be COG'n him up but good!

I recognise this guy's style from your entry in the 'Heroes' contest. It has a really strong graphic feel to it, so clean and well difined. Great use of colour. :)

Hey thanks for the reply Paul!

Looking good Fitz!

Hey- a trick I do to 'beef-up' the outline of the character if you have After Effects...

Render your guy with an alpha, Open him in AE, use filter/matte choker to suppress the matte a pixel or two giving your guy a nice, bold outerline. Helps to define him and make him 'pop' off the page...

Keep up the good work.

YES! HE HAS LEGS! HE CAN LIVE! HE CA... *cough* yeah...

Ahem, so when will this guy take his first steps/first flight? Will he be able to fly at all? (well, duh, he got a cape, silly.) Oh! And what other amazing superpowers will he have?

So, what's a Cog?

(Dumb question I know)

Hey Greg, well thanks for the Layup!

Cogs are a fan bone design that help create smooth bending joints... I made a setup that uses them in every joint for.... smooth bending limbs!

Im not much for rigging, to be honest i dont like it at all. but Mike has a great tutorial on his site, that i got from him and i must say, he makes rigging easy.

he uses cogs and it elimanates smartskinning (which is a pain)!

thats the only rig system i use now.
