  1. How's progress going on this Satyajit? No updates in a while! Looking forward to seeing it.
  2. If it's happening on a specific command, then you might try it with shaded mode off ie press the 8 key for wireframe mode.
  3. Yeah, I can get them to look normal, but honestly, it's more trouble than it's worth. If you can't get an obj file (made of quads) of it then you'd be faster making it AM from scratch. And you'd have a lot less splines to deal with.
  4. They're most probably dead end splines in them. But their obviously not made correctly. I could tell you more accurately if I had the model/part of it.
  5. Have you got a link to the demo? I can't remember the song or where to find the demo.
  6. That came out well. I like the house too. The render glitches just seem to be confined to realtime here.
  7. Is it made up of tri patches? Tri's cause creasing in AM. Make sure their quads....but it's still going to need cleaning up as there'll always be some tris. Importing as a prop might give better results.
  8. Oh was it in the contest? I don't remember clicking on it. I wouldn't guess it was the enterprise without you telling me (I'd probably miss the writing at a quick glance). Very nice model and atmosphere.
  9. You're obviously brilliant. But I'm unsure if you're crazy too. So, you just did that for fun? It looks great.
  10. What ever process you're using, it looks like it's working well. I'm not sure what you mean by "iteratively build the whole tree". In the first test animation the first stages looked very like a trunk model was just scaled up. If you could get some root movement in there as well it would be all the better for it. Even some concrete cracking would be a nice touch. Also, some offsetting of stages would be great.....such as all the leaves not growing on the same frame. What did you do in the second animation? Animate the cps in the chor? I love the first winding growth of the branch.
  11. Could it be that it's DirectX or Opengl now? Or is the Realtime front light turned on in the chor? That's all I can think of for now.
  12. Make it again and try flipping the patch. Most likely though it's too much of a stretch. If it is, you'll have to put in another spline to make the patch cover a smaller area.
  13. Same here. The five pint patch you have there is very stretched and could create a crease. This could be reduced with just hooks.
  14. This is quite a feat you're pulling off Katt. Nice work and you should be proud of yourself no matter what's said. In this clip I especially love the demon and voice even though he's not in it long. Some things confuse me though: 1) The change to the sword.....it could be clearer. The sword is always there but the boy flashes in the background. Maybe he should disappear when the sword appears so the audience can make the connection that he is the sword. This is such a crucial plot line that there should be no doubts. 2) When the witch appears, I think the camera angle needs to be different. Maybe a long shot so we see her come into shot and that the wizard is surprised by her sudden entrance. At the moment, it's just a cut. For all we know, the witch could be somewhere else. I appreciate the fact that I know what happens now is proof that people will work it out. But I think you could milk the moment more. 3) How does the witch know to beware of a demon specifically? The wizard doesn't say. If the wizard "congers up" the demon, it would be nice to see that. Otherwise, the demon could have strolled into shot from a walk in the woods and the wizard is wanting the witch to watch out for it. Or maybe the demon is there with the witch? It's hard to tell from a short clip I guess. 4) What exactly is Trell doing when the witch appears? It appears he reaches for something, but it's too short to tell. 5) A small thing....in the beginning, when the witch says "Find the wizard broom"....her face is in it's default state all the time. I understand the camera cuts don't show her when she's talking but she would be scowling or something as she says it. It feels like a narration at the moment. And yes, some stars in the background will allow people to get perspective. Right now, it could be either the camera or witch moving. Finally, when the wizard says the word "astute" his left arm snaps from IK to FK positions. It's at the start of a cut for one frame so easy to miss.
  15. That's come on leaps and bounds since I last saw it Jody. Excellent work.
  16. Oh dear. Sorry to hear that predicament. You might surprise yourself with a backup sooner than you think. A timely warning for me schedule my backups and turn off my computer every night.
  17. Not always, but usually, there's an involuntary blink when eyes rotate beyond the current field of view (ie with head movement). Try it yourself. But you'll probably conciously keep your eyes open. You'll see it in any animation/movie.
  18. Oh and if you haven't finished your editing, also, people tend to blink when they shift their eyes. Not always, but usually.
  19. Very nice work. I got all those words from watching it. Congratulations on finishing it.
  20. Make sure you use Mpeg 4 quicktime compression with 10 and 150 in the options. And about medium quality. That usually keeps the size down. Of course though, render to high quality frames if you want a good render.....combining them later into a movie.
  21. It turned out spectacularly well! Yay! I see my cockrill peeking through the window in one of them.....actually I can't remember if I made him now it was so long ago. But I did something with him. May you have much success. Don't let the next one take so long.
  22. Ah good. Well, the eyes usually lead the head, so they should be moving to the sword first. The head could use a dip halfway along it's turn to make an arc. Then the fingers need some movement and maybe they look a little un-natually bent as they are (too bent). Finally, the sword is moving, but it may be part of the story. Hope I didn't say too much! Keep it up!
  23. For all that's there, it looks good. I don't know if you want crits, but if I were, the eyes and fingers would be mine.
  24. Yeah, nice work. I wouldn't be able to tell they weren't drawn.
  25. LOL. I hope they were six individually named images......front, back, left, etc.
