  1. It's immaterial now as v8 isn't supported. No (3D) company will support/sell a version of it's software that isn't "active" any more. Hash does fix bugs but perhaps not your bugs. See v15 for evidence of a rock solid version. But the issue isn't the bugs. You wanted your cd replaced. Again.....they don't have the cds to send you. It's not their fault your cd was stolen. You signed up to that risk when you bought it.....and then let your cd out of your sight.
  2. You've got a whole forum of people (and more) that say otherwise. If AM was so bad, why would you care if you got sent another cd or not?
  3. No company would have 7 year old cds lying around. Not possible. It's an unfortunate/unlucky situation, but let's not forget, the bad guy here is the thief.

Hmmmmm......are you compiling all these parts in a model window or chor? If it's a chor, then you might have problems with a proxy. If it's a model in itself, then yes, just copy to a new model and start bound selecting and deleting. You could get it very low. But you may want to rig the original model first. Then the proxy will be rigged the exact same way. Then when you animate the proxy, just swap out the proxy shortcut for the real model shortcut. (If you didn't know)
  5. Nice render! I just saw the mermaid. I think she should be larger than life size.
  6. Excellent combination of talents. You should post more often. I'm sure if you did them over with what you know now, they'd be even better! What software do you use for the music?
  7. That'd done with splines!? The mind boggles. Most excellent. A contest winner.
  8. No problem. I wonder how it would work on a path.....that way he wouldn't need to go in a straight line.
  9. Because you're actually moving the absolute position of the model with the action....normally actions are just for cycles or actions of the body.......you have to compensate the position in the chor. So, using hold interpolation, you'll have to move the model forward in the chor by 6.54' (taken from the pos of the hips in the action at the last frame). Here's three jumps..... 2_jumps.prj

Now that's an AT-AT head! The eyes always remind me of the robots from Battle Star Galactica. So, you'll be assembling it soon. Cool!

Yeah, can we get a shaded wire of the head please!
  12. Hey you can model too! Nice character......he looks "harsher" than your avatar image. That belly will be a challenge to rig. I also think the fingers are abit stubby but there's no rule. Though it may be tricky for him to grip. Give him some lip color too! One little crit would be from the side his face looks a little flat. I would make it curve around the side abit more. But it's just a preference thing.

What!? You've never seen "The Empire Stikes Back" Eric? Nice work on the head AL. I can imagine the trouble you had keeping that smooth.
  14. You may have to select the action and increase its repeat option in its properties. If that doesn't do it, I'd need a screenshot.
  15. This is quite an indepth subject that needs knowledge in different areas.....alot of which is in the manual exercises. But to put it briefly: In the timeline you need to click on the "Channel mode" button (see attached image). Then beside your action name, you'll see see a red bar that represents the length, start and end times of your action. From what you say, it seems that the red bar for your action is starting at the wrong time. You'll need to click the red bar and drag it to the time you want it to start.

More great stuff.....though I'll have to look at an image to see where they go. Can you use your previous models to block out the head? It might be easier that way.

*Sniff* The little one grows so fast. Next he'll have four legs.

That's a foot! I love that machine. Make it all as good as it looks so far.
  19. Oh, you're talking about hiding geometry in the model window. That still doesn't render. But anything hidden in the chor does. I think the H key in the chor was brought in v14 actually, so you probably don't have that. Without that, he'd have to go through all the the "eye icons" to hide the models in the way. That H key in the chor is a great addition.
  20. Incorrect. Both show at render time. Pressing I hides the selected model. Pressing H hides any model not selected. Simple as that.
  21. If you have v13 or over, then you select the character in the chor and press the H key.
  22. Very nice start. Your style is coming through too.
  23. Pretty cool. I'd like to see the hands lag abit more though......ie bend down when moving forward. And, at times, the hands don't seem to be in sync with the legs but I'm not a fighting expert.
  24. Nice model. The song is suitably naff for that market. From your description, I imagined the little robot aquiring "upgrades" to try to impress his girl. Bigger muscles for his arms, an a** etc. You might be inspired by this guys work: http://www.rustboy.com/rustweb.htm
