  1. simple example using method above with expression rotor.mov
  2. this might help also http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...mp;hl=propellor
  3. You are correct Rodney the action repeats V15b BATS.mov BATS.zip I took about 5 minutes to model and animate the bats so please don't expect much
  4. the expression would rotate it and the pose slider would control the speed of rotation
  5. you could set this up with and expression and a pose slider ...at work now ... but could possibly post sample later: also do a search I pretty sure this has been discussed before
  6. start new action with model. show more drivers so you can see the decal sequence attached never mind I'll try to do a quick visual be back in a few posted a sligtly blurry tut on my blog see if that helps http://johnl3d.blogspot.com/
  7. here's an old project using an expression and sprites heart.mov heart.zip not sure it will help made an action to repeat a sequence of tgas from the qt and got this ..does not show detail unfortunately as I rendered to small decal.mov
  8. import the qt or avi into AM right click and choose save as a tga file...pict0000 or something similar but b put the 0000 at the end then save into a folder and you'll have a series of tga one for each frame of the qt. import the sequence and apply as a decal same method can be used to change the compression on an animation
  9. The red is set by a % pose slider you can keep it on as long as you wanted: the sample is teh same model three times notice each doe the red glow differently based on the pose setting
  10. here's the idea without a light as mentioned above lightinarm.mov used % pose to control lightinarm.zip
  11. When your starting to use AM you wil have a "few" questions you will want to ask. I find that using the search option in the upper right corner of the forum can be quite helpful. Click on it and choose More search options and you'll get the window below. You can find answers to a lot of questions in previous posts. Also the view New Posts will let you see answers to all the latest topics I dragged that link to my desktop and launch from there
  12. Nicely done something I wish I could do
  13. Good suggestion Caroline.. also material effectors will not effect particles and they would effect everything else they touched mateffector.mov
  14. instead of ambience look at additive color in the color method turned additive off in middle additive.mov glow goes down slight;y streaks would be exactly like sprites
  15. Sprites are rendered if i remember correctly last and are not effected by shadows if you know the timing you could adjust the sprite over time to darken later if its life but it might be a bit tricky..I'll try to play with the idea later tonight as time allows
  16. the tutorials applly to any version of AM except for some of the newer features
  17. go here and view the tutorial ..its at the bottom of the page http://www.virtualmediastudios.com/html/gallery.html don't forget the search feature it the forum upper right click on search more options
  18. you are probably right Ken I just never notice much change at a 100 though
  19. 100 = level -100 dpwn 200 up adjust as needed
  20. some simbiot textures are animated and wil move...water... others stay put here is a techoborg simbiot material on a .05 dino animated rough;y to stretch some areas borg.mov
  21. very nice ...if your not talented enough to model..thats me... you can get some flat models easily if you have photoshop you make a path around the shape/character you want then export it as an illustrator file and paste the original on as a decal I think there is a tut by Gene explaining how here is the imported illustrator file model without the decal pnemo.mov pnemo1.mov another kenny.mov
  22. as stated 30 per sec so for a 1 minute animation you need 60 x 30 frames or 1800 frames
  23. you don't add a picture to the material you apply it as a decal to the model then change the type to what you need color bump displacement
  24. No heresy Caroline I just did not have any decals handy for a quick tut..once again very good and yes Rusty has a very good tut
