I see a lot of how do I questions and try to answer a lot of them but if you want a quick answer to most of these questions you can search the forum and find them and many times a lot of different answers the search in the upper right next to help click then more search option then you can narrow your search from there Just another method to get a quick answer
  2. should make it so it can animate here is an very early idea along the line of flat characters wallguyplaying.mov
  3. made a circle with enough points then extrude a number of times remove everyother spline ring select then comma then delete leaves points now choose model as a group then select render as lines webs.zip shape and color as needed this is a ~5 minute example earlier sample posted using sweeper and cloth web.mov

  10. any material can be applied to just certain groups and attributes of a material can be set to work with a slider .. not sure what the "burn" ttutorial is if its the sprite fire then the emission rate can be controled by a pose slider. If it refers to a material effector then you have some control of the material but it will effect all the groups it touches but you could use the material in the material effector and adjust it with a pose and the gradient material

  12. this maybe a dumb question but in the chor do you have a ground plane that might be hiding the displacement
  13. Kelley what color are the footprints remember black is down I tried a quick trial and had the displacement increase over time for two black footpriints as decals on a plane this went from 0 to 500% first right then left foot.mov

  16. As stated you click on rotate choose new relationship then right click change drivers .... this is a bit quick but if you manually scroll the qt you will see the material rotate rock2.mov rock2.zip added the streaks just for fun
  17. its getting late but use the search in the upper right use more search options then search on johnl3d and key word material or whatever there are a lot of good material artists on the forum I just play ...tinker ...and post questions can be post in tinkering gnome workshop
  18. Spleen animating material is easy its the modeling ,rigging, and animating thats hard you can do a search on the forum for more of my stuff but be careful I post almost daily you can also check out my blog listed below which has a tutorial on material

  22. Sorry to hear you are have a problem I meant to post this earlier but had to leave for work this turns on in 10 frames then stops again fluidstartstop.mov fluidstart.zip
  23. emission rate to 0 till frame you want it to stop be sure to set frae before to 0 also
