  1. did a quick try of an idea heat.mov heat.zip
  2. Nice job again Matt
  3. hadn't played with the duplicator plugin for awhile ...thanks Caroline....my "shell" attempt shell.mov
  4. Nice site/blog Kelly..nice airship also
  5. did you download the data file also. ? sorry don't have the link at lunch at work found this in search There's a 162mb data download at: ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/misc/Data.zip
  6. Start by making the pieces and puting them together if you then need help with the material or adding a rig to animate then ask again look here for example http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31554&hl=
  7. Not sure if this would do ..spherical material used to do displacement for treads tire.zip
  8. tried one more idea with this borrowed column from greek temple swept it and calculated radiosity at default ww.zip
  9. Okay for the shape I did a randomish profile that I lathed and named path ..made a smalll 8point circle as the shape named shape selected path then sweeper and extruded the shape with these settings then took the swepted object copied into a new model turned on glow in the model attributes then rendered using these setttings notice plug-in shaders used (at default values) Got this project V15b includes the original sweep path/shape etc glowing.zip left out layer with tga sequence on this one
  10. I actually forgot to save the project ..I thought I did but can not find it ..... but will reproduce it or at least something similar. The sweeper part was just pretty straight forward the glow was a combination of material settings and using the plug-in shaders the flame layer was just a series of tga images with an alpha layer nothing fancy there. I'll see if I can find the original post on the forum. Will post project with some notes later. found a qt that I converted to the tga sequence here http://www.colins-loft.net/free/fire%20example.mov
  11. To get the qt to loop now that I've upgraded the looping is no longer saved with the free version of qt so hit Ctrl L to have this loop..I guess that doesn't work unless you save the qt to your harddrive by right clicking and save as lantern.mov I while ago I think it was Colin who posted a sequence of a flame burning I added this to a sweeper test in V15b using a layer inserted in the middle
  12. right click on project file then choose save as
  13. Very nice Caroline I started this but yours is better eyecontrol.mov

here is the original model I did not model it as noted above MrBall.zip
  18. not very clear as to what you are asking the splines look like the are wrapping around to the other side which is normal unless you break them.. use the twisted arrow tool with the mouse and rotate your view and read the beginning of the manual
  19. I would suggest just rendering whatever you want to show as a jpg that would be the easiest way...read at least the beginning of the manual would answer most of your questions.

  22. Another fantastic episode...love the ending
  23. Sprites might work sand.mov about 10 frames as it is getting late sand.zip sprite image is in sprite folder in data with v15 or on th cd spots.tga
  24. Or following Matt's example on fluids you could make fluid particles very smal and brown/tan and try that with the right settings it could look like sand
  25. torchb.mov varied displacement by flame group
