  1. not sure what you were doing with the pose..unless I misunderstood you wanted the effect to flow from one end to the other of the model which the way it was set up I assume was bottom to top so only the Y direction had to be modified in the pose changing the start and end values of the gradient material I embedded the material and models into a project after I did the positions in the gradient for when the pose was 0 and then at 100 check and see what I did then ask if you have any further questions results ..model shown twice once flipped fix.mov fixed.zip

  4. quick answer the gradient setting reflect the model dimensions for start and finish once pose is setup the model can be any size in the chor

Quick questions Did you understand how I grouped the shape in the model Do you understand the gradient material settings they are dependent on the size of the model in the model window Do you know how to set up a percentage pose Asking so I can determine the easiest way to present the tutorial there is a gradient tut at the blog listed below click on older post on lower right

I have only used material effectors in projects becaus e unfortunately they effect all models they hit here is a quick sample how I think it can be done based on a decal or decals here I used a material for the landscape (very basic) applied a decal that started out as color percent 0 % had the explosion sprite material for a few frames then turned up the color percent on the decal which had an alpha channel to alllow the not effected area show through. I believe two decals could be used with the color % changing the same way bacon.mov

  14. did a quick attempt on hairy water using no image hair ..this is very crude just an attempt and only 18 frames as it was a slow render hairwater.mov hairwater.prj basic pose control of hair length with dynamics turned on
