That is more than odd... In general the nvidia card (quite unimportant which one) should be much better than the intel one. Sounds like it is damaged or something like that to me... Was it the same with opengl and opengl3? See you *Fuchur*

Hm... I do not have a intel system which could have that problem but sometimes you need to deactivate the intwl internal gpu in the bios before the nvidia one is useable... Not sure about it, but sounds like the intel one took over. See you *Fuchur*

I have seen that before (in some other thread or something... I haven't experienced it myself) if I am not totally wrong with graphic cards... I do not think it is a Windows 10 problem. Go to "Tools > Options > Global > Realtime driver" and see if it changes something if you go from OpenGL 3 to OpenGL or visversa. See you *Fuchur*

Hi everybody, I am not sure if many know that tradition in the US but in Germany most children (and many older childs ) do have an "Adventskalender". That is a calendar before christmas with some candy (often chocolate) in it for each day in December till the 24th.Every day you are allowed to open one "door" of it till xmas is there. (most people in Germany start celebrating christmas on the evening of 24th, not the 25th like in some other countries. Anyway: This is the digital Adventskalender 2016 from my company. Hi Roger, A:M 2000 was v8. Like that 1999 should be v7, if I am not wrong... (I am with A:M since v8, thats why I know that). That is a very interesting approach you are taking there... Android might be a problem, since most Android-devices are using ARMs instead of x86-CPUs, but maybe it is something possible with Windows 10 for ARM. I am not sure why it is happening, but you an easily fix it by rotating Left Elbow in the chor to about -13.5° (or something like that... just in a way that it is aiming outside). Then he is running well . Good job! See you *Fuchur*

I have 2 FDMs... (a Replicator 2 and a Replicator 2x). Both were finished when they came to me so... they are not very complex, but you need to be very precise while assembling the kit. Otherwise you're prints will not be of high quality. I have updated and disassembled the extruder and other cruisal stuff since then, but if you do not have any experience or do not know how it should look exactly, I would think it is not easy to do that. I'd say it is a very good deal for $299. - Removeable print bed - PLA will work well on it.. but ABS or Nylon? I am not sure. There is nowhere any info about a heated print bed, which is close to required for ABS and in general you need a closed heating chamber for those. They need to cool down slowly and simulatnously. - Printing resolution is nice. I do not know if you will be able to print at 50 microns with it, but if it can do 100 it is totally okay for most things. (my Makerbot Rep2/2x can print 100 microns at min.) - Automatic calibration is very valuable too. That makes it much easier. - It is a very "closed" printer from the look of it... if something has to be repaired, I am not sure if you can do it by yourself. On the other hand: Maybe it is just very well designed from the start on and for that price it is a good deal anyway. See you *Fuchur*

Should it animate or is it enough to be there in an instance? If the later, a simple cookie cut / transparency map should do, otherwise you will need to model that stuff to a certain amount (which is much work...) See you *Fuchur*

The difference in general are different cooling systems with different clockrates and settings on the card... They are like that not different talking about the chipset used but can behave very differently depending on how aggressive they are overclocked and how well they are cooled down. In general I tend to get a card, which is not overclocked very much... yes that costs me a little performance, but they will very likely last a longer, since they are not working at the limit all the time. Hey Steve, yes it is, IF you are willing to put some time in it. I have a very reliable 3d printer now which I can start weeks and month after last usage and it will print right away without any problem. But you need patience to get it there (I updated it quite a bit with different parts print by itself, etc.) and it will sometimes need some maintainance (meaning sometimes there is a little plastic sticking in the extruder you need to get rid of or some gears need some silicon/oil to run smoothly)... the good thing is: You can do that quite easily. With 2d printers everything is unreachable, they use special screws to make it harder for you to look into it and even if you are lucky and can get to the problem, you can't really repair it yourself. With a 3d printer like the Makerbot Replicator 2 here that is much different. There is some kind of a problem? Just open the print head and see what it is and fix it. (most problems decrease the print quality and do not make it totally unusable so you can often print something to fix the problem... I never bought anything for it despite 4 longer screws from a hardware store for an improved print head design which just was a little bigger) It is an own craft by itself to design for a 3d printer too. You need to make things waterprove, you need to make it printable (not everything is printable right away.. may it be because of size because of over hangs or because the material just can't handle what you throw at it. But splitting the model into parts and glueing it back together after printing or just using supports for the overhangs will make it work most of the times. But it is a process and things get better and better the more you know what you are doing and how to do it and how to think while designing your parts. The good thing is: It really is fun and it is much easier than it sounds compared to when I read it here again . And there is that warm feeling if you have a product finally coming to life you created before in A:M with your own hands and mind. That alone is priceless. Yes it is . And now think how cool it becomes when driving through the woods and there is maybe even fog around . It is like laserbeams at you wrists . Thanks everybody It really is so much fun . Interesting and sounds troublesome... I have build many AMD-based machines with Asus-Boards and Gigabyte as well.. all are behaving well for years now. (I'd say around 15-18 systems... not sure...) But maybe Asus got worse in the last 1 or 2 years or maybe they are not that good with Intel boards or something like that... In the end I'd say go with Saphire or Gigabyte for the graphiccard if you can... Saphire is often winning the game concerning speed and cooling, but they are not the cheapest neighter. In general ASUS is a good, more like a premium brand (for mainboards... I would not buy graphic card from them). I never had a xfs but powercolor, gigabyte and msi. All good. Saphire is a good one to. Pny and xfx have a bit of a cheap reputation.
