  1. Actually that is not meant for that in most cases. It means, you can print with ABS on it instead of only PLA. ABS on a non-heated plate will very likely not stick to the plate (or at least it is much harder like that), because if it cooles down to fast, it starts shrinking very much. So the cooling needs to be very slow and that can be archieved with a heated plate. If the the bed is heatet and you try to get stuck material away with that, it can work, but in general the heated plate will heat up to something like 100 °C, which is not enough for PLA to melt... (would need something in the 170-200 °C area to melt). What you need to do to not make it stick enough but is easy to remove is to use rough rubber tape or something like that on the plate. That is something all the more major 3d printer manufucterer do suggest. Glas has one other advantage: It will produce a very nice finish and is absolutely straight. That is, why it is used sometimes... on the other hand it is very heavy compared to plastic plates and your bed-engine and the springs on it need to be able to handle that...
  2. I am not sure if Terry has solved it for now or if there is still a problem. Terry? See you *Fuchur*
  3. Just in case you did not know... if your subscription is still running (so it is not yet over one year since you activated it), you can talk to Jason to reattach it to your "new" computer / installation. If it does happen one time or something like that, he will very likely help you out... support@hash.com is the way to go there... See you *Fuchur* PS: And please update to Windows 10 1607 if you did not till now... it really is much better and of cause it is a free update... it may take a hour or something like that, but it is worth it. You can update if you go to "Start > Settings" (you can search for it or it should be there at the bottom if you are still on Win10 1511) and go to "Update and Security". Make sure you activate the checkbox at the "Search for updates"-button and than hit it... it will take a little. If it does not find something, try it again one or two times. Then it should start downloading stuff if you are not current. while downloading you can still work, but when it is ready, you should return and invoke the restart, otherwise it will try to restart the computer sometime in the night, when most people do not have their computers on... that does not matter much, but just to be sure about it, do it yourself.
  4. Which Windows 10 version are you using? Do you already have the 1607 update installed or are you still on 1511? (for many you need to force that update once..) 1607 is like SP1 and should be installed as soon as possible. It is much more stable than 1511... Of cause that does not really make it certain, that there will not be something going wrong (especially if it is hardware related or something like that) but it is less likely to happen. See you *Fuchur* PS: No matter what you are going to do... think about a second partition of your hard disc or even something like a NAS or an external drive. As that it will not be a problem if the system has a problem... you can still just reinstall it (or even use something like TrueImage to mirror your installation) and will have all the work still where it was before and only your software can be reinstalled.
  5. Happy new year everybody . May it be fun, successful and... happy . See you *Fuchur*
  6. Nice fence, but be aware that that many patches will result in long rendering times and sooner or later in a slowdown of the programm when FindingPatches is active. See you *Fuchur*
  7. Just a question about that: Can't your model be scaled 100x while modeling and rescaled before export? See you *Fuchur*
  8. If you want less power consumption, the R9 Nano might be right for you, other than that the R9 Fury is a solid card for a good price point. Of cause I have not tested how they perform against a FirePro or Quadro, but those are in general very expensive and if you do not use software with special drivers for those cards, you can very likely just leave those behind because they are not faster without the additional driver support but cost twice as much. See you *Fuchur*
  9. In Windows 10 you need to right-click on the start menu... there should be a shortcut to it. See you *Fuchur*
  10. Bios changes (=cmos changes) are a little tricky, but maybe we can give u better instructions if u tell us the manufacturer and the exact laptop name...
  11. That is more than odd... In general the nvidia card (quite unimportant which one) should be much better than the intel one. Sounds like it is damaged or something like that to me... Was it the same with opengl and opengl3? See you *Fuchur*
  12. Hm... I do not have a intel system which could have that problem but sometimes you need to deactivate the intwl internal gpu in the bios before the nvidia one is useable... Not sure about it, but sounds like the intel one took over. See you *Fuchur*
  13. You are using the last v18-version, right? 18p+ if I am not wrong, right? See you *Fuchur*
  14. I have seen that before (in some other thread or something... I haven't experienced it myself) if I am not totally wrong with graphic cards... I do not think it is a Windows 10 problem. Go to "Tools > Options > Global > Realtime driver" and see if it changes something if you go from OpenGL 3 to OpenGL or visversa. See you *Fuchur*

    Xmas-Calendar

Don't be fooled by the commercials. None of those in the calendar is from us . We just pick some of the bests out there on YouTube and put them together... I would surely know if we did a commercial with Jennifer Aniston . Only the cover art of the calendar and the calender itself is done by us. Or did you visit our website and had a look at that? (those are of cause done by us) See you *Fuchur*

    Xmas-Calendar

Hi everybody, I am not sure if many know that tradition in the US but in Germany most children (and many older childs ) do have an "Adventskalender". That is a calendar before christmas with some candy (often chocolate) in it for each day in December till the 24th.Every day you are allowed to open one "door" of it till xmas is there. (most people in Germany start celebrating christmas on the evening of 24th, not the 25th like in some other countries. Anyway: This is the digital Adventskalender 2016 from my company. It is packed with funny, deep or just very nicely done commercials from all over the world and the cover art is done with A:M. Have fun . Each day another door is openable : http://weihnachten.3we.de/ See you *Fuchur*
  17. Hi Roger, A:M 2000 was v8. Like that 1999 should be v7, if I am not wrong... (I am with A:M since v8, thats why I know that). That is a very interesting approach you are taking there... Android might be a problem, since most Android-devices are using ARMs instead of x86-CPUs, but maybe it is something possible with Windows 10 for ARM. (Microsoft announced that recently) See you *Fuchur*
  18. Well done Simon, well done... See you *Fuchur*
  19. I am not sure why it is happening, but you an easily fix it by rotating Left Elbow in the chor to about -13.5° (or something like that... just in a way that it is aiming outside). Then he is running well . Good job! See you *Fuchur*
  20. I have 2 FDMs... (a Replicator 2 and a Replicator 2x). Both were finished when they came to me so... they are not very complex, but you need to be very precise while assembling the kit. Otherwise you're prints will not be of high quality. I have updated and disassembled the extruder and other cruisal stuff since then, but if you do not have any experience or do not know how it should look exactly, I would think it is not easy to do that. See you *Fuchur*
  21. Looks like flipped normals to me... that would be fixed by Shift-6 as Robert said. See you *Fuchur*
  22. I'd say it is a very good deal for $299. - Removeable print bed - PLA will work well on it.. but ABS or Nylon? I am not sure. There is nowhere any info about a heated print bed, which is close to required for ABS and in general you need a closed heating chamber for those. They need to cool down slowly and simulatnously. - Printing resolution is nice. I do not know if you will be able to print at 50 microns with it, but if it can do 100 it is totally okay for most things. (my Makerbot Rep2/2x can print 100 microns at min.) - Automatic calibration is very valuable too. That makes it much easier. - It is a very "closed" printer from the look of it... if something has to be repaired, I am not sure if you can do it by yourself. On the other hand: Maybe it is just very well designed from the start on and for that price it is a good deal anyway. See you *Fuchur*
  23. Hey Sean, nice to have you back . Let us know if we can help you to get started again . We are on and off again about doing a short together, but till now there is no real approach getting to production stage. Maybe sometime in the future . See you *Fuchur*
  24. Should it animate or is it enough to be there in an instance? If the later, a simple cookie cut / transparency map should do, otherwise you will need to model that stuff to a certain amount (which is much work...) See you *Fuchur*
  25. The app has recently been reviewed by ilovefreesoftware.com and got 4/5 stars . If you want to read more about it: http://www.ilovefreesoftware.com/05/windows-10/windows-10-space-battle-game-wingman-fight-for-earth.html See you *Fuchur*
