  1. There we go... it really is that easy and it is quite easy to do. Rodney did really nicely explain it. Best regards *Fuchur*
  2. You can attach your master0.lic file to your request if you still have it. If not, you can use the download from the trial requst page to create your host-id of your new computer, which may make it easier for Jason. https://www.hash.com/try-it-16-en Best regards *Fuchur*
  3. Great stuff Kevin – very well done : It looks very nice and has a great production quality. Best regards *Fuchur*
  4. Could you have a look if you are using SSE3 or SS4-Version? It should be visible at Help > About A:M. Best regards *Fuchur*
  5. How much RAM is used there? Is maybe one of your RAM chips failing?
  6. You will always need an internet connection for the activation. That is just how it works. You are getting your licence by the server in the end and the activation code is just like a password to access it. (technically not totally correct, but close enough to understand it) Best regards *Fuchur*
  7. Very well done Robert. Congratulation everybody and very nice entries . Best regards *Fuchur*
  8. Very cool ! Congratulations! Best regards *Fuchur*
  9. Looking nicely . Best regards *Fuchur*
  10. It was HA:MR if I am not wrong. But it was using OpenGL/Direct3d (as realtime in A:M itself). Best regards *Fuchur*
  11. Robert is talking about A:M. Last beta came last week and in general a new one comes out each week. (more or less) Regarding the shader: That looks nice. Any technical information on the shader would be nice. Best regards *Fuchur*
  12. It could be working with something like this "Round(Rand() / 10) * 100", if I am not wrong. Like that it would toggle more or less between two values with a more steady value. I did not test it, but Round should be a good starting point. Best regards *Fuchur*
  13. Hi Reidh, you need to copy the lic-file to your installation folder of A:M. (next to the file "Master_64.exe" or "Master.exe") and it should be named "master0.lic". (not "master0.txt") If you already have a master0.lic, rename it to something else (best is something like "master1.bak") If the little window for the activation is poping up, the lic-file is not working / not available or the trial has expired. Best regards *Fuchur*
  14. That looks creepy and very great . Best regards *Fuchur*
  15. And there is of cause the Hall of Fame: https://www.hash.com/am-films-hall-of-fame-36-en
  16. ...since a few versions... but I think v15 should already have subpixel-displacement. What will make a noticeable difference is the resolution of the displacement-map and using for instance a EXR-texture (32bit per channel) instead of a TGA (8bit per channel). Best regards *Fuchur*
  17. I can understand that... you may want to have a look at Shade3d for isntance than. Best regards *Fuchur*
  18. I am doing 3d prints for years with A:M. You have to use patchmodelling with A:M and A:M is not a CAD software, but to say it does not offer everything you need is just plain wrong. I have 2 makerbot fdm printers at home and there is no problem with using them wirh A:M. The minute you need higher resolution and higher precission than what A: M can offer u is the minute you need professional 3d printers for 25,000 dollars and up, which I assume nobody is willing to pay anyway here. If u do not get what I am talking about, please read about shrinking and equal challenges with 3d printing. Best regards *Fuchur*
  19. 50-100 micron for layers(50 is very uncommon just because you need to adjust ur printer very, very precise), but not for smallest features. There you can have smaller once on the better fdms. It is not for very small bolts, but if we are talking about m8 or m6 it is very well possible to do (there even is a bolt and nut as predefined object on my makerbot which works nicely, but is not tiny neighter) and may even work better than sla, since the materials are better suited than most liquid resins. (it depends, but in general those are a little more flexibel which is not helpful for that scenario.) Example Best regards *Fuchur* PS: But yes, you can easily just use real metall screws and drill them in. Much more durable than standard plastics anyway.
  20. Very cool . Best regards *Fuchur*
  21. Would be cool, but not to my knowledge... there is the connect plugin, but it does something a little bit different. Best regards *Fuchur*
  22. Are there two planes meeting there / two full splines with connections running at the edge? If so, you need to delete one of them, and use the loose spline ends to connect the two ends. (click the left mouse button and drag the loose end cp to the other one and click with the right one (additional to the left one) if you are close enough. Best regards *Fuchur*
  23. Boolens in A:M are no suitable for export. They are only calculated when rendering. That makes them very useful for animations (because they can easily be animated like that) but not suitable for the export. You'll need to go the "manual" modelling way. Wether A:M is suitable for mechanical modelling or not is really up to your skills. It is very well doable, but there are better tools for that depending on your point of view... it highly depends what you are used to and what modelling method you prefer. A:M has one or even the best patch modelling toolsets but is very limited if you like to use boxmodelling tools. I'd recommend to just try it out. Best regards *Fuchur*
