ah... non-glowing hair!

The left one would work well for animal fur. Is that one image mapped hair?

The trick is dark specular color and adjusting the primary strength in the muhhair shader.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I used an image in the hair emitter.

Hmm, I was hoping it looked more like human hair than animal fur.

Both characters are using the same hair material, just with different settings. I'm guessing Lady Goodbody's hair needs more work. ;)

It's a bit of a too-much-whisky-and-cigarettes look.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think you're right Holmes.

I went a bit MatCap crazy on this one. This is a model from the extra cd. I think this was one of Matt's models.

I also posted a render of the original (yellow dress).

I would call that a successful experiment, Mark!

I think MT mentioned he used MatCap shaders... do a search for matcap... coolest thing since they started putting the slices in the bread!

I didn't catch some of those later hairs, those are looking great, I bet a lot of people thought A:M hair couldn't do that.

I don't know where I was when this topic was posted but it sure wasn't here.

Wow! You've done some great work with hair Mark.

I so need to use some of this.

Used the MatCap shader to shade the hair.

I bet a lot of people thought A:M hair couldn't do that.

Count me as one of those people, I sure didn't know that MatCap shaders could be used with hair.

Thanks for bumping this up Tom! :)

If my memory serves correctly Matt included it with the Mach V (Speed Racer) project so look for it in the project files on the Extra CD (not sure if it's on the Extra DVD but it should be).

I got better examples than these, to show what A:M hair can do. I just haven't posted them.

Aha! Holding out on us eh?

You'll have a captive audience when you do get to the big reveal. :)
