agep
Thanks Here is a minor update. I consider this project done. I'm not to satisfied with the IBL render though, so I might do a few more test when I have the time

higginsdj
Cool - now you have something to clean up that plane wreck Very nicely modelled and finished - as usual. Cheers
MMZ_TimeLord
Excellent work Stian! As always you impress me with the speed at which you model complex mechanicals... Now I just need to finish that darn Golden Gate Bridge...

Eric2575
One of these days you'll come out with a book or a tutorial cd, right? Put me on the top of the list. As usual, nothing less than expected, usually a bit better though. Cheers Eric

Xtaz
You stole my words David .. I would say exactly the same thing Stian...considering the level which you are...has only one thing that is not good for my eyes...Is the repetition of texture used in the side and in front of the blade...They call attention being in the golden ratio of the image. Especially the front texture ... The rest is simply amazing
mtpeak2
I just saw this thread today. That is INCREDIBLE Stian. Amazing!!!!!!!
Masna
Hey Stian, I've been following this project for a while and i'm amazed by you modeling, decalling, lighting, textures. Maybe i'll be as good as you someday. Truly inspiring!
agep
Hi guys! I am sorry to bump such an old thread, but I have just uploaded a 1080p turntable of this model on YouTube *there is a few renderbugs on the shovel which is caused by hooks
John Bigboote
Awesome! The black background does not do too much for it... but it looks great in 1080p! Now THERE is a Youtube channel to subscribe to! I wish Youtube had a 'loop' feature...

Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted August 14, 2010 Hash Fellow Share Posted August 14, 2010 Wonderful model and wonderful texturing! This was my inaugural attempt to watch HD Youtubes on my new computer and it looks great. My suggestion on the render would be to find a way to soften the edge on the highlight reflection. Is that a card you have off camera? Or maybe the highlight needs to be not so straight? Maybe some sort of slight bump map on the larger flat surfaces would give it the waviness of a real sheet metal part.
