update... It seems to work on a case I made from scratch but I dont' know why it didn't work when I edited a previous PRJ.
-
After some testing on a simple case I think there is something wrong with how color is getting keyframed over the particle's life, but I'm not sure yet.
-
I 'd have to see what you're doing. If you want to bring it to Live Answer Time tomorrow we could look at it.

Stunning detail. The lighting on the second one is especially convincing! I can guess what LD LMT means but what are CAPY and LT WT?

The red group of splines needs to be one spline loop to prevent a patch from forming there. Break and delete the four splines that make the red group (leave the CPS in place) and attach a single four-CP loop in their place.

I have not tried this yet but it is a feature. I presume that some judicious reattaching of splines is needed after using it.

Porcelain can usually be eliminated by turning "Average Normals" ON and setting a "Normal Weight" other than 0. 50 is typical. This is the same effect as porcelain but with more specific control.

Why do we even have that mode?

Serg added a bone to be a parent of the cutter bone and attached the mesh of the S to the new bone. Thanks, Serg!

Here's a turn-around showing the fragment flicking in and out. BooleanTest000.mp4

In this model the green shape is a Boolean "cutter" and should conceal everything inside it. Can anyone detect an obvious reason that it is not completely hiding the portion of the gray S that is inside it? There don't seem to be any internal patches and all the normals are outward-facing. "The Bear's Tale" (1940) So "estimated reading time" was a thing even back in 1940? The US wasn't in the war yet so it's not a war-time efficiency measure...

I wonder, if you combined that with one of your sparkly things, it might look he was transporting in? -
That would be a great question for Live Answer Time! Until then, I can sort of imagine a Boolean cutter, keyframed with muscle mode animation in a pose slider, used to hide/reveal portions of the S-shape over time.
-
That was very effective!

A quote from the article I've never felt trapped by this. If you're worried about the interpolation, all you have to do is scrub the timeline and you can see how it's interpolating. This is a head-scratcher. In A:M our seamless IK/FK controls follow each other just fine.

That's cute! Snoopy was beyond huge when I was little.

This would be a great question for Live Answer Time if you want to drop by tomorrow!

On one of the commentary tracks the difference between Sylvester's and Daffy Duck's voice is brought up. It is not that "Daffy" is Mel Blanc's "Sylvester" voice sped up, although that much is true. The real difference, according to Mel Blanc, is that Sylvester is Gentile and Daffy is Jewish. In Mel Blanc's mind, Daffy was a Jewish comedian, a vaudevillian.

"Bacall to Arms" (1946) Taken out of context, this pose looks very odd. In context... it's still very odd.
