  1. TSM2 puts an html manual in the htx>TSM2>manual folder
  2. Squetch works in V13.
  3. The (free!) "Squetch" rig actually does have seamless IK FK switching both ways. Installing it is a bit involved however.
  4. You can do a somersault with IK legs. you just need to be careful to animate the feet to follow along as the body flips. For a quick motion like a flip you may need to keyframe the feet on every frame. I did this with all IK legs gymnast.mov When I load the Shaggy form my Yeti CD I see that going from IK to FK is seamless, but when I switch back the IK feet want to go back to where ever they were last keyed, which is understandable. Simple solution... after you switch back to IK, re pose the feet to where you want them to be. If your Shaggy is rigged wrong then something else might be wrong, but if you got him off the V13 CD it should be the same as mine. here's PRJ with the V13 shaggy and two chors that have him switching between Ik and FK. ShaggyFlip.zip "Flip" has him flipping. scrub it in skeletal mode to see switch happening shaggyflip.mov (that's quick animation, not polished animation ) "FK to IK" has: 00:00 Shaggy posed in IK 00:07 switched to FK 00:15 body moved. His FK feet follow of course. 00:21 switch back to IK. His feet go back to last keyed position 01:01 feet manually moved forward into correct position. I could have done this back at 00:21 so they would never jump back.
  5. Great looking creature!
  6. Faces are tough. 3-point patches are not always bad. it depends on how they were built. A CP should always have TWO splines crossing thru it like an X. Not two splines crossing plus one dead ending on it. If you see five lines heading into a CP, at least one of them is dead ending there and that will cause a crease. Here's a suggestion for remedying two of such instances using hooks (the yellow dots) and a five point patch ("5") Your basic strategy for the lay out of the face will cause you trouble, however. There is a face tut in TAoA:M that would do you well right now. Get to know that one. It's all about building concentric loops around the eyes and mouth. 5-pointers and hooks are used to blend those loops together as they merge into each other.
  7. Simple solution... don't keep saving over the same file. When you have some new work you like, save it with a ne version number. Old model looks promising. I bet the new one will be more so.
  8. try turning multipass ON or OFF
  9. They didn't look blurry so much as there was an odd double image thing going on. It didnt' make me sick though. Since these are all hair could one conceivably use a fan force with a bit of turbulence to make the daisies and grass slowy wave inthe wind?
  10. Specular is fairly easy. set the "surface" to 100% transparent and turn specular size and intensity to something other than 0%. I just tried it and it works, however in V13 I found that only multipass rendering would make specs show up in this method. A quick test with that same strategy for reflections yields results not quite like what i expect. reflections seemed un naturally bright. More investigation woudl be required.
  11. Try the exercise with a different character. For example, Shaggy on the 2006 Yeti CD has the "same" rig as Rabbit but his legs don't wander with with each IK ON/OFF change. I just tried it. Something is wrong with the Rabbit model, not with constraints in general. Try the exercise with a different character.
  12. If it won't work in 15b, install a previous version to its own directory and use that one for this manuver you are wanting to do. But still report it, and note the difference in results between the old version and the new version.
  13. Good looking spot! THATS the million dollar question! 1 week. (5 eight hour days) approximately. And congratulations on making a million dollars!
  14. in the PWS you could drag the skeleton from one model to the other. try that. make a report of this to AMReports
  15. There was a version of 13 that broke it but v13t works. it's even working in 15 for people. Make sure you're installing it into the right folder. the default is V11. you have to change that.
  16. I think it's pretty safe to say that something called "knee control" is the knee control even if it appears in slightly altered form. It does turn the knee control bone on. At that point I would have said "mission accomplished". that's what "strings" are in computer lingo. Just text. In the case of the thom you posted, the missing texts would only say "Relationship1". (or Relationship2...) All the important labels that say what the constraints are and what bones they do appear correctly. All the constraints seem to be working. As far as I can tell everything is working as it should. Remember you have to turn "TSM constraints" ON. This is really a bug that has been introduced in A:M. I say that, knowing that TSM2 has not changed in the last 2 years but A:M has. Some detail that read those strings properly in A:M before does that no longer. Fortunately it's not a catastrophic problem. Go forth and rig in peace.
  17. post a rigged character here. the Thom will do
  18. the missing knee slider is a new one. Did this start when you switched to V14? to V14c? If you have v13 try doing your TSM in that. I've been doing TSM in that and my knee slider is still there. I get the string error but it goes away after a save and reload as largent suggested.
  19. Sounds ambitious, but sounds like a good story. that's practically a whole movie right there!
  20. I think that looks promising. I'm wondering how that lower eyelid will close, but you wont' know until you try rigging it.
  21. The advantage of importing something from AI is that you get the option of automatically adding bevels in the AI wizard. If you trace a rotoscope in A:M you can extrude it, but you'll have to add the bevels manually. Lots of apps can export .AI files. just make sure your creating actual vector art and not just an image file embedded in a .ai file. You'll really want to do the tuts in TAoA:M, those will answer most of your questions.
  22. First tip: put a meaningful topic on your posts. "Can anyone help me?" means nothing and most people will pass it by. ifyou have your picture in vector form (adobe Illustrator) you can import it and extrude it into 3d withthe AI wizard. If your picture isnt' in vector form, get it in vector form. Other wise you could import a picture and use it as a rotoscope to trace off of. But AI is easier.
  23. It looks pretty straight forward. It's just a bunch of spheres and ovals put together. You'll have to be more specific. What are you haveing trouble with? General "do this for me" requests probably wont' get you much.
  24. you really mean "mouth" right? Combining actions is tricky. you may have to re order the actions in your chor or change the blend mode in their properties. showing a screen capture of your PWS would tell us more.
  25. Make sure mirror mode is off.
