  1. The point is that Im not using the backgroundcolor, but an actual model as background (the dome), which gives me an all white alpha. What Im looking for is an model option such as "include in alpha" or something like that
  2. I do have a chor setup containing a dome and a character. I use the dome with an hdr image for reflection (reflection map on a material on the character itself is out of the question). So my problem is this: I need to render an animation with only the character (alpha) eg make the dome cast shadows but not make it visible in the render... Any tips?
  3. Haha! What a cute character. I like him! Please hurry up and animate him, I bet he will look hilarious (in a good way that is)
  4. Thanks! They are modeled. I'll post a wire when I get home from work
  5. Busy days, but I managed to find som time to do some splining:)
  6. Thank you guys! I might donate the model when it is finished, but I have not decided yet Thanks George!
  7. Hi friends Here is my current work in progress. Its the Eldar War Walker from Warhammer 40K. I just love the design of the walker since it got both mechanical and organic feel over it. I bought a model of it which I have sent to a good friend of mine who is a warhammer figure painter. At the moment I only got photos of the unbuilt model itself as reference while modeling. I was not able to find any blueprints of the walker. Also, due to limited spare time, the progress is going a little slow. Anyway, here is what I got so far. Let me know what you think
  8. Do you have [show Particles/Fur] turned on? [shift]+[8]
  9. Hi George Here is a sample of how I would solve it. Keep in mind that the proportions are not correct, it was just a quick test. However, since I am bad at explaining stuff, I'll just add a render, wireframerender and the model for you to examine. I did break up the model in smaller parts to speed up the modeling and to make it less complicated to make. Hope this helps Feel free to do what you want with it lostinspace.zip
  10. Thank you so much guys You have been an inspiration for me too, you know;) In this particularly case there was insanely much stitching, using beveled corners of primitives, extruding, stitching and so on... good spline planning was the clue on this model. Bring it on The only thing I got at is a work in progress video (time-laps) of a model I made for David Dustin a few years ago. Feel free to take a look: neonprogress.mov
  11. Thanks for the comments guys! Sure is! I always bevel every edge. Its a lot more work, but the result is much better Yup! Lol! Actually, that wireframe render took many many hours to create. It is a clean AO render with sampling set to 100%. Then I rendered out a black wireframe on a white background and merged those two layer in photoshop
  12. Nice model! You accomplished a very nice mood with your light setup. Did you use lense flare?
  13. Hi guys! I just want to show my latest personal project. Hope you like it. It is the reference design card NGW100 from Atmel.
  14. Good work! Personally I'm not a fan of toonshading, but I must say that the tractor looks very nice!
  15. Hi. To make live action videos you simply drag and drop the video onto the camera in the choreography and select "rotocope". Then you have to set the Ground properties to "Front Project Target" to ON, so that the video is projected onto it. Second is to match the lighting of the video in the choreography. If your video have free motion (handheld) I suggest that you track it and import the camera movement into A:M. I prefer using PFHoe for tracking since it is very cheap and easy to use. For a few examples of 3D composited in video using PFHoe and A:M feel free to visit my homepage: www.agep.biz -> Go to Gallery and scroll down to "Animation"
  16. Thanks for the update Dusan! Those renders are jawdropping, nothing less!
  17. I know this is an old thread, and I'm sorry for bumping it. Just wondering if there are any news about this very promising short?
  18. Hitting period key solves that 99% of the time:) And it is a lot quicker
  19. Hi Select the 5 points. When done, the [Make 5pt Patch] button should get activated (see fig.). If not, hit period twice to activate it. Then push the button
