  1. I would do this in post production. You could do it in A:M, but the distortion would require refraction to be rendered and that will be a big render time hit. So what you need to create to do this in post is something to be used as a selection set. You could render one pass as color. then in a second render you could put geometry where the distortion trail should be by using tube models for the exhaust area. render everything black, but the distortion tubes in pure white. then use this as a selection set in your post program. Ofcourse this is just a very simple explanation and it would require some planning if the distortion trail will move behind objects and stuff like that. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  2. I think the only way to do this convincingly is to hand animate either the control points or bones, like was said before. Can't wait to see what you made! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  3. The dripping faucet looks good the first and 2nd drip.. but then even though it is blurred out, gets distracting.... But again, these are just nitpicks. Overall the scene looks really good. I like the blood from the scrapes after he clenches his fist. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  4. Hi Tom, great to hear everything worked out so far! Keep us posted Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  5. QuickTime is fine, but it looks like your file is corrupted or something.. its only 32bytes in size My qtpro on windows xp was unable to open it....
  6. I was unable to see this. what sort of file is this?
  7. yea, i fixed the texture stretching by turning his body back around. Thats pretty hard to avoid, but i still do need to do the bump map. The main reason why im not using a bump map now is to make it not lag while im making the movie at first, understand? You can fix that with bones. If you have a bone for every spline ring that runs horizontally, set to orient like the hips at decreasing values.... that's just one variation of handling it.
  8. One can never get the bones perfect:) Nice work! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  9. Looks like every dot on the face would be associated with a bone in the models face?
  10. Looks great man! I'll be over here standing on line:)
  11. Oh really? What would you pay for it? That depends on how good/easy it is to set up. Only you know how difficult/time consuming this project has been for you. Seems like most 3rd party things in the A:M field sell between $30 and $100 I certainly have no problems in that area, but again, only you can figure how much it costs... Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  12. I don't know what your plans are.... But I would Buy that in a friggin heartbeat.
  13. For a quick clip its not too bad... but it is far from being a good animation! Like this would be the rough action that took just a little while to assemble, and then you'd go back and refine everything from the cape of superman being knocked around to the hand motion and reaction from SuperFox! Are you going any further with this? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  14. Looks great!!!! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  15. there are a couple different things you could do here... but I would just lay down a spline that conformed to the surface of the street and then just use constraint to path in the cho. Then use the translate only(I think is the option) so that only the position of the model moves along the spline, and not the orientation. the other thing you could do is use the surface constraint. But I think it would be easier to just make the path conform to the street shape. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  16. Looks good... my personal taste is that the color image and the b/w on the right has too much specular brightness. Possible to tone it down abit? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  17. OOOPPSSS! My bad, I was just in the OT section and didn't realize that I had come to the rigging section. Guess I should try sleeping AWAY from the computer:)
  18. Hey please repost this into the riggin section. You'll get help faster that way as the riggers usually keep thier ears up in there. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  19. 40 minutes.... one certainly could achieve the results without putting lights in every room.... but it does look nice.
  20. You guys were eye glasses instead of capes!!! Hope you guys put something together animation wise... it could be really good!
  21. Lee, that is just horrible.... and by that I mean it's horrible that you won't be able to finish this before you leave! You've really got an amazing "touch" to your work.
  22. wowsers! I'd love to see your complete fleet rendered on the open sea!
  23. I would have just used the glow settings. would have worked just fine I'd say. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  24. that is pretty sick! Great great work! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  25. I for one am just getting sick and tired of your horrible models!!!! Um, Kidding ofcourse. This one looks like its going to be another fantastic model. Keep us posted!!! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
