  1. Hey guys, here is the shaded wireframe. about 1.5megs... http://www.vrcops.com/vids/spineswa.mov thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  2. Hey Steve, sure no probs. I'll post it shortly. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  3. Hey guys, I was going to post this in the rigging section, but maybe not until I hammer some more things out. But since I've gotten myself interested in some old models again, I've taken another stab at something that's always bothered me.... the spine!!! I'm still trying to work out how it works or if it will fail at some point, but the set up I'm playing with allows one to move it at the base, the middle and the top... anyhows take a look if you get a chance. about 730kb sorenson http://www.vrcops.com/vids/spine2a.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  4. Ummmm, oh my gosh! so let me ask you, why didn't you use cookie cutters for the holes in the wheels instead? Thickness of the object? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

    2001 rig?

Steve, you certainly will be able to animate just fine with the 2001 rig. if you want an even simpler set up, go to the "free section" on my site www.3dartz.com and download the chapter on putting in a stripped down version of the 2001 rig. it will at least get you started. 6. Stian, wonderful, just absolutely fantastic work! I'm interested in knowing how the response time in the modeller was. Did you get to a certain patch count where you found that the software really slowed down, even when making the smallest of changes? Thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  7. Hey Thanks Nancy! I hope I can get some good stuff done with it too! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  8. Hey Bruce, thanks for the reply! Yeah, the specularity setting is the same over the whole model. I remember someone had mentioned that before too... It's an easy change to turn it down on the skin selection. thanks Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  9. Hey guys, right around this time last year I had been working on these clips with grand visions in my head... next thing I know it's one year later and I had not even gotten back to it. This is the last thing I did on this particular clip. I know I showed it before, but I had never posted the clip with music that I put to it. I think I might try and get back on this over the next couple weeks.... anyhows, with the music, its about 5.5megs.... http://www.vrcops.com/Vids/ClimbSoundB.mov Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  10. That was really good! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  11. Nice model Dimos. the walk is pretty brisk for an older chap. Ever notice how many of Pixars characters have small feet? I think that is because big feet, while they look cool for some characters, get in the way and cause problems to animate. I'd be willing to "help" out with the rigging, but specifiy what the reinbursment is or isnt..... Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  12. I think it looks much better! Nice work! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  13. Since a crit already came out.... My feeling on the pose, other than all the great looking aspects to it, is that spider man looks way to stiff to be doing what he's doing and his legs look really close together, like he has super narrow hips. I'm wondering if we saw him from the side, would his back be straight or curved? Looking foward to more images! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  14. I feel like the other way is the better way to ensure smooth joint deform.... but that's just my opinion. I almost never setup the mesh to flow like this, although visually its nice.... Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  15. Hey Matt, thanks for the words! I was just glad to be a part of the project. And very nice work on the tram ken Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  16. Not too bad at all!!!! I tell ya, the makers of SouthPark should see how much money they've wasted by producing thier animation content with some "other" higher priced software! thanks for the link Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  17. Hey PJC, no I never made a superman.... the closest I came to making a commercial superhero was SpiderMan.... but I stopped after fully modelling the head. Maybe I'll come back to it..... Anyways, I certainly would like to see all the SuperMan models that are out there in the community.... Oh, so PJC, do you think it's easier to start this from the pre-existing model? why not start from scratch? just curious.... looking foward to the updates! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  18. Hmmm, this looks interesting..... I know that this is very early on in your reworking of the model.... but there are some real size issues that I hope you look into.... The first thing is that the head is super tiny compared to the width of the torso/body. His expression is that of unexpectedly sitting on something pointy:) But I do know you are early on in the work and will make everything nice:) Looking forward to updates! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  19. Can you post a wireframe? Cool model! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  20. I wonder how you were controlling the arm, IK or FK? Specifically when she swings her right hand at that guys face..... there is something about it that isn't showing up right in my head.... like the arm is too stiff/straight, or it looks like she is throwing her forearm at the guy, instead of her hand. Fist or open hand going to the head, I think that the arm has to have a slight bend in it.... NOT that I'm saying it doesn't, it might just be the angle. But, this is just nit picking...... overall if I were watching this on tv, I think it would look VERY spiffy! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  21. Well then, mission accomplished:) nasty! nice work Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  22. Yeah I agree!!! Great job! As for the splines.... I don't think they are too heavy. Thanks for showing them to us. What's next? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  23. Don't want to reveal the "under the hood" stuff, huh:) I wonder why? Well all in all, excellent stuff!
