  3. Hi Nixie, I think it's all starting to come together. There are a couple of areas on the mesh that I personally would want to change if it were my model, but the most notable areas I feel is at the corners ofthe lips. A lot of people model the corner of the lip so that it winds up running back up along the face towards the eyes or temple region. If you are planning on animating him, this might be an area of uncertanty when moving he mesh about. A lot of tutorials tell you to do it this way,but I feel it is a bad design element. So what I would suggest, rather than running that spline back up along the face up towards the eye, run it back towards the neck. I don't have a really clear sample on the web, but a video on mysite has the wireframe showing. here is the direct link. http://www.3dartz.com/Video/VSamp5.mov if you look you can see how the spline runs from the corner of the lip back towards the neck. It's just a suggestion but I find that it is much much easier to do it this way. Not too mention it gives you a good split of the upper and lower areas of the jaw. Just to assist when creating morph targets. If you want I could markup your image in Photoshop to make what I'm saying a little more clear. Overall really really good. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

  5. Jim I would just like to take this opportunity to say HOLY COW!!!!!! Amazing..... as usual. I get the feeling that you are assembling your cast of characters. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  6. Hey Mike, I haven't seen any of your stuff since you posted Mort last year!!!! Edna looks great. I should visit the WIP section of this site more often there's so much cool stuff in here. Mike, I have to say that the mesh looks great..... well thought out. Are you making a short animation with Edna and Mort? Anyhows, I think the video clip looks great and the wireframe vids show us how well the mesh is built and I know that this contributes to making animation easier!!!! Nice Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  7. Hey NIma, I just responded to your post in the general forum with the video clip. I think your model has come out great, if I do say so myself!!! the mesh is so clean and easy to see.... I don't know, I just love that stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with mr.mongoose! Nice work Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  8. Why not skip the eye thing all together by giving him a nice shiney reflective wrap around visor? Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  9. there is no rule stating that lighting has to follow real world lighting. It's an artistic choice. You could get after it for hours and hours and hours and somone would still find something that you HAVE to change. If that's your pick, then go with it. But I personally would tone the light down a touch, but keep the volumetric effect, it really adds to the scene! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  10. Looking really good! Keep it up! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com
  11. Hey pretty cool character. Looks like a real ruff n tuff type. His hands look like the hands of a pencil neck geek though. Try making them a little more like hammers. the character looks like he'd be ready to knock your lights out if you look at him wrong or tell a bad ketchup joke. Fun character though. Mike Fitz
  12. Wow Zach, excellent work! Mike Fitz
  13. Jim, the second set of images absolutely look better. Awesome stuff. Going to be animated?
  14. Hey Jim, I'm totally lovin the character! I think the fold in the hip area on the dress is just the best. I don't know so simple but so effective. My only crit from the first image, no the three stacked side by side.... what'shappening with the shoulder? How are you controlling this? It seems like you are just not allwoing any z axis rotation in the joint. Comparing to the latest 3 side by side images. Anyhows... killer! Mike Fitz
  15. Carl, I watched the surprise movie several times! It's great! Smooth! I don't have any critique for you really, except maybe try take the action even further. Like try and make him bunch up even more upon shock then explode out even more - like more back arch. See what that looks like. I think it's cool little character, like could be the discovery channels new mascott! good work! Mike Fitz
